Zokwana to give update on drought relief and grain imports

Johannesburg - Agriculture Minister Senzeni Zokwana is expected to meet with members of Grain SA, the National Agricultural Marketing Council of SA (NAMC), Transnet as well as Maize Trust on Friday to determine the country's level of readiness for importing grains.

Zokwana has already met with members of AgriSA, the African Farmers' Association of SA (Afasa) as well as NAMC to discuss the drought situation facing the country.

After the meeting, Zokwana was expected to hold a media briefing to update the country on both issues as well as the matter of food security in South Africa.
