Cape Town - Two members of the African National Congress Youth League's NEC will lead the newly-appointed National Youth Development Agency board, the presidency said on Friday.President Jacob Zuma appointed Sifiso John Mtsweni, Bavelile Gloria Hlongwa, Khomotjo Joy Maimela, Ndumiso Thokozani Mokako, Itiseng Kenneth Morolong, Yershen Pillay, and Zandile Majozi to the board.Mtsweni is chairperson and Hlongwa his deputy."The president has wished the new members all of the best in their execution of the critical responsibility of leading youth development in South Africa," the presidency said in a statement.Mtsweni, 32, is a member of the ANCYL's NEC and recently made statements in support of Zuma. Hlongwa and Mokako are also NEC members.Morolong was deputy NYDA chairperson from 2013 to 2016. Majozi is the deputy chairperson of the Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade.The parliamentary process to recommend board members was marred by numerous delays. Parliament approved the board's members in February, despite reservations from the Economic Freedom Fighters and Democratic Alliance.
