Kwaggafontein - President Jacob Zuma is expected to visit the Thembisile Hani local municipality in Mpumalanga this Friday to check on service delivery.
He would assess three projects being rolled out to improve residents’ lives and speak to locals later that day, presidential spokesperson Bongani Ngqulunga said on Tuesday.
This was part of efforts by government leaders to speak to people about service delivery problems, and speed up delivery.
In his State of the Nation Address on February 11, Zuma committed to visiting the area.
According to Statistics South Africa, the Thembisile municipality had a population of 310 458, and nearly half of all its young people were unemployed.
