ANC: Limpopo ANCYL lacks discipline

2012-11-17 17:16

Johannesburg - The Limpopo ANCYL's comments about President Jacob Zuma shows that the organisation lacks discipline, the ANC said on Saturday.

"The attitude displayed by the ANCYL in Limpopo is not only divisive but also display[s a] lack of discipline and disregard for decisions taken by the ANC," spokesperson Jackson Mthembu said in a statement.

"It is our view that the national leadership of the ANCYL will address this unprecedented conduct."

He said the ANC was "disturbed" by the assertions made by the ANC Youth League in Limpopo.

Mthembu said it had adopted the argument and tone of opposition parties in Parliament on a matter which was under investigation by the auditor general and the public protector.

On Friday the ANCYL in Limpopo said it was "psychologically threatened" by Zuma's comments that he and his family had paid for his Nkandla residence.

‘ANCYL psychologically threatened’

"The ANCYL... is psychologically threatened by the responses and emotional outlook by President Zuma in Parliament, when he claimed to have taken out a bond to finance the Nkandla... development," provincial spokesperson Klaas Mabunda said in a statement on Friday.

"We are making a humble plea to all branches of the ANC to wake up and start closely monitoring the utterances of President Zuma, because... we are convinced that his incapability to lead the ANC... will be exposed by the man himself."

Mabunda said the Limpopo ANCYL was concerned over how much of the bond Zuma was paying back every month, because his salary was "public knowledge".

In reaction Mthembu said the ANC, including Zuma, supported the investigation of the Nkandla expenditure to the allegations to finality.

"We therefore do not expect any of our structures to show contempt for the investigative processes.

"ANC structures must guard against adopting uniformed positions that will embarrass them when they are proven wrong," Mthembu said.

What you sow you will reap. Your whole movement lacks respect and discipline. You don't respect your people's right especially those in the Western Cape province. Our brothers and sisters suffer while you only look after your own.

  • charles.kubhayi.98 - 2012-11-17 18:37

I feel that it will be difficult for the NEC of the ANCYL to see that the Polokwane ANCYL is off-track because the ANCYL nationally does not have a political capability to manage and direct its structures except to follow their factional politics. The ANCYL has instead of looking at creative and developmental alternatives for youth, stucked on cheap politics influenced by hatred, revenge and factions. The fact that our youth think that a specific individual in the presidencial position is required to change the situation in the country displays misguided and narrow thinking of the youth leaque.

  • debduplessis - 2012-11-17 18:50

@blessings.makoka ... Zuma is no leader... he has failed to deliver on every count!

  • Mamokwee Rathipa - 2012-11-17 19:01

Limpopo ANCYL lacks discipline. Their behaviour leaves much to be desired. It is the reflection of the families they grow up. they don't respect adults.

  • oliphant.mzolisi - 2012-11-17 19:27

Mthembu was also part of the group that ploted against the removal of Thabo Mbeki from both presidencies for him to be were he is now, when the ancyl was critic on Thabo he was on top of the world and never called for discipline from the ancyl, why now and not then if the ANCYL is not discipline he thought them so why is he complaining, the spear they have used to sturb Thabo Mbeki at the back so shall it be used against them dont cry Agentina!

  • mzondistanley - 2012-11-17 19:58

  • blip.noodlum - 2012-11-17 20:25

Well, if they lack discipline then it's the job and the duty of the party leadership to discipline them into obedience. Why aren't the party leaders doing their duty and merely engaging in childish petty name-calling? Might it be that the party leaders simply have no idea how to lead? Get rid of such weak leaders.

  • sello.molekwa.1 - 2012-11-17 21:07

    The entire party lacks discipline.

  • seth.stephen.7 - 2012-11-17 21:55

      Mondli Dladla - 2012-11-17 22:45

This country is not for ANC only ,therefore people have freedom of speech to talk what ever bothers them, they can try with their media tribunal but it will never work its just a copy of apartheid soon we will have a state of emergency where the govt will try to shut us up

  • tiaan.vanderberg.75 - 2012-11-17 22:14

If Mr Zuma is the best you have , I am afraid that it does not reflect well on your organization. Fortunately for you, the average ANC cumrade's intellectual capacity is of such a low level that the incompetence of their leaders is of absolute no consequence in the execution of their democratic right to vote. Mr Zumas reelection is therefore not a statement that proves the political sane wrong but rather reaffirmation of the collective ignorance of the masses that are willing to assume the roasted chicken position for the next 5 years. Once again the very people people who support the ANC will be screwed ( obvioulsy apart from those who stand to enrich themselves).

  • mammudi.makgaleng.3 - 2012-11-17 22:56

ANCYL lacks discipline and ANC lacks morals and leadership. What the f**k....

UNPRECEDENTED? Nice one Jack(Daniels)son Mthembu! Remember Polokwane, when they assisted you in staging a coup to recall Mbeki in propagating social unrest, instability and war( we will kill for Zuma). Never forget the lessons of the past, NEVER!

  • themba.thwala.775 - 2012-11-18 09:38

"The Limpopo ANCYL's comments about President Jacob Zuma shows that the organisation lacks discipline ..." says the drunkard Jackson Mthembu

  • jackbongani.phala - 2012-11-18 14:26

You think if the president can say jackson mthembu has a complete set of teeth and does not drink alcohol,we must just believe and wait for investigation?get sober before saying anything.

  • musa.kamashobane - 2012-12-20 15:52

I mentioned earlier that ANC is ultra sensitive to criticism. Here you are the drunken spin doctor classifies a legitimate question on Nkandla by ANCYL as ill-disciplined. This is the same ANC that told Trevor Manuel to shut up he is not a coloured community representative. Ha ha ha ANC.

  • thabo.swafo - 2012-12-20 17:17

Jackson Mthembu is dreaming at the midday,he is sleeping while he is going, that's why he thinks vise versa. We are are not sleeping or staying in bloody Nkandla with Zuma and his plenty wives and his thousands children. How can we as the ANCYL in Limpopo support Zuma for spending the state resources on rebuilding Nkandla?Jackson Mthembu must learn how to manage his children for not taking drugs. He must inform us on how he delt with his son for drug addiction.
