ANC attacked through alliance - Cosatu

2012-12-19 08:06

Bloemfontein - The ANC was being attacked and targeted through its alliance partners, Cosatu president Sdumo Dlamini said on Tuesday.

"The attack, meant to destroy the ANC, has already started through NUM [Cosatu-alligned National Union of Mineworkers]. Soon it will be the SACP... the target is the ANC," Dlamini said.

He was delivering his message of support at the ANC's elective conference being held at the University of Free State's campus in Mangaung.

The conference was important to workers around the country.

"Our expectations from this conference as workers, besides the election of new leadership, are the policies that will come out at the end of this conference."

Dlamini appealed to delegates to include the banning of labour brokers in their policy decisions.

"Labour brokers cannot be managed and should therefore be banned."

    and let the fight begin!

      amanda.vandenberg.758 - 2012-12-19 08:55

Agree , let the fights and assassinations begin, the rot in the ANC will cause its own demise, the educated youth in this country are very aware of the corruption taking place and the misery it is causing. I cannot see Cyril Rhamaphosa, (I do believe he won't compromise his integrity) stopping the corruption while Zuma and his cronies are in charge of the keys to the coffers. The few with integrity have bowed out of this corrupt organization. Let the people revolt, many a government and leaders have been brought to their knees by the ordinary workers and citizens of a country!

Read article about ECONOMIC GROWTH UNDER ZUMA LOOKS BLEAK and about the disgruntled citizens of this country and how Rhamaphosa has been brought back to try and salvage the battered image of the ANC.

  • dick.etheridge - 2012-12-19 08:39

"Labour brokers cannot be managed and should therefore be banned." Managed? Do you mean they can be forced (managed) to pay union membership fee's?

      hdludlu - 2012-12-19 09:05

Labour brokers are really slavery to our people. I might not agree with many policies of the ANC or COSATU but on Labour brokers they are spot-on. I don't expect people who never provide their service to understand because they never will. It is good for business but very bad for human resource. It is morden slavery.

      warren.rodel - 2012-12-19 09:09

Life is full of choices, next time even you will vote better.

      amanda.vandenberg.758 - 2012-12-19 09:13

You mean they are not prepared to pay bribes,so they are of no value to the ANC

      ntebu.mthi - 2012-12-19 12:18

This is not going to fly. Zuma's son and the Guptas have labour brokerage businesses, so does Ramaphosa and a host of ANC big wigs

  • musawenkosi.mvubu - 2012-12-19 08:39

I think your members and leadership should now grow that if you differ on opinion, you are not an enemy of the African National Congress. We have seen people being marginalised and if you perpetuate it again now you are going to have serious problem in future.

      ntebu.mthi - 2012-12-19 12:20

This is due to lack of proper political education. In established democracies this is not an issue because the country's welfare comes before towing of party lines

Cosatu have no company the should Ben their own company.

      raath - 2012-12-19 09:00

      Who is Ben?

  • nhlapop - 2012-12-19 08:40

Labour brokers are making the life's of our brothers and sisters miserable. If government can't burn them, then they must just govern them, they must fall under government. Government must also invest more money on youth, invest more money to create job opportunities and intenship programmes in government and private sector for graduates from Universities and FET Colleges. A Nation that does not invest in youth, that Nation has no Future, former state President Thabo Mbeki.

      warren.rodel - 2012-12-19 08:56

Yes burn it, burn all of it!

      Vaughan - 2012-12-19 09:05

Government has made it impossible to start small businesses, grow existing business unless you know the Zuma family, increasingly impossible to keep existing business going. And we wonder why we have such high levels of poverty. But yes let's destroy another industry that has 2,6 million workers. Damn, this country is full of brainless wonders.

      bbooyse - 2012-12-19 09:10

What is your definition of invest? Let me guess, giving money and qualifications without any work or competence being achieved?

      amanda.vandenberg.758 - 2012-12-19 09:17

Why should they invest in the education of the youth, educated people immediately become aware the corruptness of the ANC .

  • bbooyse - 2012-12-19 08:48

...You opted willingly for this faustian pact with the Labour Unions, now reap the benefits... :D

  • hezekiel.lefopane - 2012-12-19 08:50

ANC will remain strong...which fight are this anti-ANC commenting about...they just saw “attack” and thought of in fights...shame on u ....

      raath - 2012-12-19 08:58

Yeah, they probably forgot about an "attack alliance" or "attack hugs" or "attack friendship" - you know, the good type of attacks.

      warren.rodel - 2012-12-19 09:04

Go and throw a chair, I know you want to.

      bbooyse - 2012-12-19 09:11

Yes, and while they remain strong you'll all starve...

  • craig.ellis.56829 - 2012-12-19 09:08

Theres no "attacking" they are fighting for whats morally right and a better South Africa for all, just because the ANC members that are tired of all the corruption etc etc does not mean they are defiant, it just means the corrupt Fatcats are getting nervous and are trying to pull an empathy card. The only way to get the ANC out is to vote DA, those that are not sure, come visit our beautiful Western Cape and see what our DA has done for us!

  • bella.marx.5 - 2012-12-19 09:09

Oh wonderfull. Now the rest of South Africa (especially those with brains) can sit back and see how the Ruling Party outrule themselves......!!!! 2014 will be such a blessing for our country. New Government, New Ruling Party! Houses for all, Food for all, Schools and education for all....!!!!!

  • Strikeback - 2012-12-19 09:21

The unions cannot be managed. It must be banned! Now with Cyril in the no2 position he does not have to ask Zuma to send the SAP to discipline the mineworkers. He can now send them himself. www.strikeback.co.za

  • karimesaks - 2012-12-19 10:18

There is absolutely nothing new and nothing sinister about this. All parties target each other with the aim of destroying each other. Duh! Stop being doff man and deliver!

  • jacqui.daanevanrensburg - 2012-12-19 10:25

Cyril Ramaphosa's outfit supply workers to the mines. Does that make him a labour broker or not?.
