ANC bars FS leadership from Mangaung

2012-12-15 20:14

Bloemfontein - ANC policy head Jeff Radebe on Saturday night confirmed the party leadership of the Free State would not attend the national elective conference in Mangaung.

Radebe said the national executive committee (NEC) would uphold the rule of law and acknowledge the independence of the Constitutional Court.

"The Constitutional Court is the final decision maker on constitutional matters. "It is the final [decision] on this matter."

Radebe said all Free State delegates to the conference considered to be provincial executive committee (PEC) members from the June 2012 conference in Parys would not be allowed.

Free State ANC chairman Ace Magashule would attend the conference as an elected NEC member.

  • fyrguy65 - 2012-12-15 20:42

Of course.. any legal opinion that would help JZ remain in the Gravy Train would be respected... the shoe on the other foot... maybe not so much !!! What a joke !!! African National Circus - JZ the Ringmaster !!!

  • chris.summers.3954 - 2012-12-15 20:44

If the ANC spent half as much time in actually governing the country as they do in jostling for positions, stealing, murdering fellow ANC members and drinking Blue Label, this country would be the next Korea and would rule the continent. Let's hope that the end of the world comes early and makes a pass in Manguang, not a single one of these clowns would be missed.

  • gavin.taylor.79 - 2012-12-15 20:47

Can they not do anything in a democratic, orderly and civilised manner? Always squabbling, fighting, stabbing, suing, stealing, cheating, throwing things. To quote an old tv ad - "Makes you think....doesn't it"

  • rob.bayliss.94 - 2012-12-15 21:04

Watch.....the constitution and/or the constitutional court will get the blame!

  • thembinkosi.jozie - 2012-12-15 21:07

Can anyone explain to me what is the barbed wire for at the conference I saw many police trailers with rolls of barbed wire Are they going to put it between Zuma and delegates or are they going to keep some delegates out of the venue or what?

      rob.bayliss.94 - 2012-12-15 21:12

Maybe it will be used to keep the criminal secured inside after the conference!

      Charles Frederik Robberts - 2012-12-15 21:40

Hopefully keep the delegates in and away from the rest of us before they stuff up the little that is still left

      malose.kgosana.5 - 2012-12-15 21:41

I think the barbed wire is made for the possible rude person from not entering into unwelcome spot.

      fef.gericke - 2012-12-15 22:10

      chris.summers.3954 - 2012-12-15 22:53

You know there's a Zulu (Xhosa, whatever) version of N24 where people who haven't managed to master the english language can go and be merry without stinking up the first world version of this website. Feel free to remove vowels altogether from your comments over there.

      dee.bone.39 - 2012-12-16 08:22

@chris and nic. Exactly the problem we have in this country. We are battling with an electorate that have more of a problem with people like you than with the ANC. And then you have to come on forums like these and tell the electorate to fight you at the voting booths. education does not automatically guarentee intelligence

  • mzuvukile.mbanjana - 2012-12-15 21:21

Good decision as against the initial response of Mantashe. Legitimacy of the conference has been protected.

Shabir Sheik and Brett Kebble, the intelligent mafiosas, taught you how to thief and now you are hiding your corruptious/hooliganism on apartheid. Apartheid is long buried more than 18 yrs, keep running, but you cannot hide....!

  • chris.phago - 2012-12-16 05:40

This shows us exactly that NEC of cANCer is always braking laws n using government resources 4 the self.Ace Makgashule should not attend the conference cos he and his PEC r criminals.

  • sello.maponya.1 - 2012-12-16 06:33

In a land of the blind, a one eyed man is a king. We are the blind, ANC is the king.

      marius.fourie.526 - 2012-12-16 06:48

No the ANC supporters are blind. The rest of SA are not!

  • andrew.mackie.90 - 2012-12-16 06:35

This is democracy at work, Radebe banning FS delegates as per Concourt ruling yet Magashuie is allowed to attend. We will uphold the rule of law and the independence of the Concourt, yet in the past they challenged this same court.

This just normal day 1 antics. Would'nt be the same without it. Day 2 and 3 should be the interesting ones. Hey. What other country has a ruling party that spends millions entertaining it's citizens at Christmas? Be thankful. You could be getting Christmas carols and little drummer boy instead.
