ANC leadership united, Mantashe says

2012-04-03 16:44

Johannesburg - The ANC's top officials are one on matters of discipline within the organisation, Secretary General Gwede Mantashe said on Tuesday.

"We remain loyal to all decisions taken," Mantashe told reporters in Johannesburg.

"National officials are not at odds with each other."

Mantashe said the ANC leadership was concerned about the recent "alien behaviour" within the party.

Mantashe was joined by ANC President Jacob Zuma, his deputy Kgalema Motlanthe, Treasurer Mathews Phosa, national Chairperson Baleka Mbete and deputy Secretary General Thandi Modise.

He said the top officials had called a press briefing because of incidents which "caused confusion" within the ANC and the public.

  • rowan.maulson - 2012-04-03 16:52

Pull the other one Mantashe... You have to have a press conference like this purely BECAUSE you aren't all one...

  • Allstar - 2012-04-03 16:55

  • Sandile - 2012-04-03 17:54

The major problem is that the ANC lack leadership. Zuma is incompetent to unite and lead the organisation.
