ANCYL seen as a threat, says Malema

2012-03-05 22:22

Johannesburg - The ANC Youth League has been seen as a threat and people want to crush it, its president Julius Malema said on Monday night.

"Those opposed to the youth league want to plant divisions in the African National Congress," he told Metro fm in a live interview.

"Those forces... are working day and night to undermine economic freedom."

He said "those people" were monopoly capitalists working in the media and in the ANC.

"Some of them are in the pockets of white capitalists," he said.

Malema said he was ready to leave the ANCYL and was adamant he had not done anything wrong.

He said the new ANCYL president would have to continue with the resolutions already adopted.

"And when that leader pronounces on them, he will also be expelled," he said.

  • Geronimo - 2012-03-05 22:31

    Racist pig.

      Frank - 2012-03-05 22:56

Isn't it just crazy that since Malema's expulsion nobody within the ANCYL has stepped up to challenge for the leadership? Is the ANCYL Juju's own little monopoly and everyone within it his little puppets? They cry for economic freedom (aka free handouts to those who want something for nothing) without any idea of the destruction it will cause this country. Ignorant, corrupt fools.

      Max - 2012-03-06 00:05

So being a monopoly capitalist is bad as opposed to being a thieving capitalist like Malema which is good. (That is if you can explain what a "monopoly capitalist" is.) Being in the pocket of a white capitalist is bad as opposed to be being in the pocket of a black capitalist which is good. This intellectually challenged little fat boy is still used by the ANC to do their dirty foot work for them and the reason for his obsession with his own safety is becoming more clear now.

      Robert - 2012-03-06 00:06

Go and F yourself Julius. As a white man I still need to achieve economic fredom without a degree and being in bussiness fo 20 years and being white with only a matric which you I doubt have? You work for economic fredom, you just dont get it you ape.

oh please, only threat u r is that people might b infected with retardation when they listen 2 u.. ancyl is like cancer where anc is what u got, aids

      Matlose - 2012-03-06 07:00

You are such a huge stupid

      Paul - 2012-03-06 07:04

Malema is undermined by his own lack of intelligence. His followers are also seriously just as stupid. This lot could not even balance a egg on a spoon. How will they ever have a balanced view of anything. They unfortunately do not have the cognitive skills to see the damage they are creating. Go on and on about job creation maybe they should focus on doing some work, hate mongering is not a job. Whether he likes it on not "working and job creation and economics" is derived by European culture. Malema and friends are only interested in taking from someone else because they are unable to create anything on their own. They are like children pissing in the sand box because nobody wants to play with the bully. There is no such thing as economic freedom when taxation is directed on the middle class. The black middle class is bigger proportion of the population than the white middle class. This wasteful government is just increasing the burden on the lower income earners. The rich don't worry about buying bread , milk and keeping the lights on and neither does Malema. The YL answer is always to take from someone else because that wouldn't require work and because herding cattle doesn't pay anything like being a useless politician. Malema is only interested in staying on the gravy train don't fool yourself if you think he cares about anyone else.

  • jan.roodt1 - 2012-03-05 22:32

Well if the next leader is not so arrogant and his/her pockets is not so deep, I am pretty sure he/she will survive.

  • Irene - 2012-03-05 22:45

Wrong again Malema! The ANCYL is not a threat in any way. What is a threat is the false ideology that you're planting into the heads of poor, vulnerable, uneducated people who do not have the capacity to understand what a fraud and imposter you are. That is the true threat!

      Jeeves - 2012-03-05 23:04

      100% Agree.

  • Scouter - 2012-03-05 22:52

"Some of them are in the pockets of white capitalists" he said. You'd much rather have them in your bulging pockets, wouldn't you Julius? Just like all those people you have either bribed, or worse hoodwinked out of their 'economic freedom'. You are about to discover the truth of the old adage 'what goes around, comes around'.

  • thesaoak - 2012-03-05 22:58

    Just Fuc* Off Already!!!!

  • Anneck - 2012-03-05 23:03

Of course the ANCYL is a threat! It's a threat to foreign investment! A threat to farmers! A threat to democracy! Encourages violence and racial hatred!

      Anneck - 2012-03-06 08:54

Two Malema worshipers seem to disagree with me so far...

  • Tebogo Ngulube - 2012-03-05 23:16

They can lock us but they can't lock ur ideas. his ideas wil remain land reform and nationalism. every body who live in S.A must knw the history of this country. Sharing and non racist tht is the way forward.

      Theo Reinecke - 2012-03-06 00:07

I agree every one should know the history... so lets start by educating the ANCYL on the true history of South Africa. Why stop therr? Let us take this even further... you are so worried about the white minority, so I propose that we give our jobs to you and our land. We'll move all the whites and true non racist blacks and everyone else to Cape Town. We'll then sit on the beach every day while your Youth does all the work and we'll then share the wealth equally amongst all South Africans. I can do that. #talkaboutrolereversals

      Nick - 2012-03-06 04:45

what history is that since malema is preaching white hate yet he loves white money suburbs cars farms designer clothing the youth league majority in their thirties can nationalise his millions of assets 99% of whites will in a lifetime never own or earn as much as this muppet has in 3 years

      Kevin - 2012-03-06 06:05

Owe you less than F....k all

  • Paul - 2012-03-05 23:25

No you juvenile league, the ANC does NOT see you as a threat, they see you as cry babies and a thorn in their side!!

  • Mantsho - 2012-03-05 23:48

  • Ali - 2012-03-05 23:58

"The ANC Youth League has been seen as a threat and people want to crush it, its president Julius Malema said on Monday night." Well, a guy threatening to destroy or kill me is obviously a threat. Stop appealing all the time and leave already, since you are ready to leave, just do it fool.

  • Dave - 2012-03-06 00:12

He is correct that the ANCYL is seen as a threat, simply because it is a threat to the well being of SA and the people living here. Anyone that has half a brain will know what he is doing will only bring the country down and all of us will suffer. That includes black, white, collard, Indian and any other race living in SA. Yes short term a small percentage will think its great, but then they will soon see that he doesn't have a clue on how economics and stability works. When there is no food, water, deliveries, and basic medical or jobs for the masses then they will regret ever listening to this moron.

  • The Real Unskinny - 2012-03-06 00:25

i can smell economic freedom, the majority is behind you chief..all the way. we dont expect sense from convicts of crimes against humanity as per the UN

      Adrian Greyvenstein - 2012-03-06 01:45

Europeans begin mapping and exploring the South African coastline and basic trading takes place between the Khoikhoi and the Europeans. Nguni and Sotho speaking groups begin colonizing South Africa (subjecting and incorporating neighboring groups and dispossessing their land), with eventually only the western and northern areas of the Cape not dominated by them.

      Nick - 2012-03-06 04:45

what crimes what humanity lol haha

      Kevin - 2012-03-06 06:07

      Joe - 2012-03-06 07:19

You clearly do not understand the meaning of the word majority. It means the greater number or part. It does not say anything about the small insignificant bunch of prats totally out of touch with reality.

  • Phil.Kleynhans - 2012-03-06 00:50

We are South Africa. We can build it up or break it down.If we are going to fight between who is black or white we are the next Zimbabwe. Grow up rather to break down build up. What the f*ck is wrong with us. WAKE UP

      Boer - 2012-03-06 07:45

Why OH WHY is this article still refering to JM as the President of the ANCYL?? He has been given his marching orders and correct me if I am wrong But only if and when he appeals and wins does he have the right to restand for president. Or like everything else in SA you can only get the top jobs if you have INMATE on your resume??

  • Sally Lewitt - 2012-03-06 04:14

The Malema type of racism, hatred and greed is not the only thing that should be crushed. There are also similar national scourges like rape, murder and theft. These are all sprouted by Arrogance, Nepotism and Corruption. ANC for short. Like cockroaches, they multiply, and feed off the nation.

  • braamc - 2012-03-06 06:35

no Julius you dont understand where the ANC is coming from the youth league is a branch of the ANC now you want the youth league to be seen as a political party on its own , the following of the youth league follow because it is the ANCYL not because of your leadership , if you want to be seen as a political player with a huge following start your own party ,

  • werner.smidt - 2012-03-06 07:10

The ANCYL is a threat to anything sane . . .

      werner.smidt - 2012-03-06 07:13

. . .oh and Julius, you rely more on the "white capitalist media" than you think. If you didn't know . .the media doesn't exist in the name of ideology, it exists in the name of profit (excluding the Zimbabwe Herald, of course).

  • Marthinus - 2012-03-06 07:16

Hey look I found a monopoly capitilist in my pocket, wonder what its doing there? This guy is crazy.

  • gillian.d.toit - 2012-03-06 07:19

I wonder why? The ANCYL is only trying to unseat the President and his supporters! It is in opposition to the Government. Malema just cannot stop his mouth from running off with this racist garbage.

  • Fidel - 2012-03-06 07:20

I listened to Julias' interview on Metro last night and he is smart, articulative and knowledgeable. The ANC cannot sacrifice Black advancement on the altar of white sensibilities. Which is why Julius Malema is the best thing that has happened to South Africa in a very long time! For the first time since 1994, SA has a vigorous young leader who finally challenges issues Mandela gingerly avoided. Julius is rough, crude and undiplomatic. He takes SA back to the unfinished (or unstarted) job on pre-1994 Black SA. As unpolished as he might be, he is the necessary FIRST DRAFT that the ANC needed as a template to build on as they embark on policy refinement and modification to cater for the underdeveloped FIRST before the interest of any foreign entity, including western media and corporations. Silencing Malema will never silence the majority, and Apartheid will never die until those who fought to end it, get back their land and the value of their labour.

      Boer - 2012-03-06 07:30

When investment leave, the value of their labour will be famine for those that is still alive.

  • Diego King Dgo Brevis - 2012-03-06 07:23

You have to listen carefully to what that man is saying.

  • TenRas1 - 2012-03-06 07:29

I listened to the whole Interview last night and Malema didn't even use the term "white"...He did not mention anything about whites. The media are dividing the people of SA by writing wrong things everyday.

  • stephanie.moolman1 - 2012-03-06 07:29

All Malema needs is a pretty uniform with lots of shiny buttons and ribbons and voila! - mini Idi Amin.

  • Elle-Black - 2012-03-06 07:30

I used to wish that malema could shut up but now i'm glad he keeps talking, because the more he talks the bigger the grave he is digging for himself.

      Tebogo Mulugo - 2012-03-06 07:34

But he makes so much noise,he's hurting my eardrums

  • Jason - 2012-03-06 07:31

Well exactly that ANCYL is a support structure for the ANC you turned it into an enemy.

  • TenRas1 - 2012-03-06 07:49

Will this whites that are making noise here Vote for ANC if Malema and Zuma leave the ANC? I seriously don't understand why they so concerned about the ANC...Leave us alone and mind ur own business.

  • joe.sokolic - 2012-03-06 08:27

Its always the whites hey Julius? Why cant you admit that you have just failed? Racist. "Some of them are in the pockets of white capitalists." Does this mean that some of them are in the pockets of black capitalists too? If they exist of course, which they don't.

  • Mark Allen - 2012-03-06 08:44

Go that right Juju. A threat to the future of this country

  • Sammy - 2012-03-06 08:48

pray, pray, pray hard but i think your gods are still sleeping and we wont wake them up.

  • Maliganpa - 2012-03-06 08:59

In a new democracy envaged by mandela I urge white youth who claim to have intellect to join the ANCYL and take up leadership positions. We will remain racially divided if we critizes and belittle one another through the media without making an effort to adress the challenges which face us all in common. we need a society in which peple engage in a political discourse without reference to skin colours. Where are the white Youth of this country with much needed skills and intellect ?

      Ken - 2012-03-06 09:58

The "W" youth that have not left this country are studying or working hard on their skills to increase their "personal" freedom. With this economic freedom many will decide not to spend their taxes in SA. The country is being drained of its future taxpayers who choose a life without liberation fighters.
