Aurora donation to ANC 'scandalous'

2011-04-11 20:46

Cape Town - Aurora co-owner Khulubuse Zuma's donation of R1m to the ANC is scandalous, the Freedom Front Plus said on Monday.

"While workers of Aurora in Orkney and Grootvlei starve because their salaries have not been paid, R1m is available for the ANC," FF Plus spokesperson Pieter Groenewald said.

"This confirms that Aurora is buying its influence from government and why government is reluctant to intervene against Aurora, despite the contravention of the country's laws."

The owners had an arrogant and defiant attitude and were abusing the legal system to delay paying salaries.

"Ministers and the ANC always make a big noise about farmers not paying their workers a minimum wage but Aurora does not pay its workers at all," he said.

About this, the ANC was quiet and it "is evident why because the owners had family ties with President [Jacob] Zuma and are now also donating money to the ANC".

If the ANC was really serious about job-creation and the interests of workers, it should refuse to accept the donation, Groenewald said.

Agreed, how do these people sleep at night. They are just cruel

      CC - 2011-04-11 21:12

Oh, they have no problem to sleep - a shower in the morning can work wonders...

      william.botha - 2011-04-11 22:23

      Cruel and greedy.

      ArtGee - 2011-04-11 22:48

They sleep with ONE EYE OPEN... always on the lookout for a KFC /Debonaires delivery

      Thangy - 2011-04-12 11:11

      @ArtGee LMFAO!!!

      Thangy - 2011-04-12 11:12

This is criminal!! the ANC was a direct beneficiary of funds meant to pay salaries and here we have this fat cow fighting tooth and nail NOT to pay!!

  • Chibuli - 2011-04-11 21:12

It must be paid back... we are supposed to be a Democracy!

Defend this Polyatonki. Zizo et al. Defend it and show yourselves for what you truly are.

      The_Realist - 2011-04-11 22:22

Stryker, most of the ayencee braindead trolls use their employer's bandwidth to spout their communist rhetoric, you'll have to wait until office hours tomorrow for a reply.

      cedb00 - 2011-04-11 22:28

They can't. And I don't think you'll hear from them on this one. And if you do, it will be "we are in charge now; we can do what we want; live with it whities, blah, blah, blah..." But rest assured, they will NEVER debate the merits of this atrocity, because they simply cannot. The corrupt ANC are showing their true colours again.

      Foxx - 2011-04-12 08:06

Stryder you have got to be joking, polyatonki will never defend or comment. He is to dam scared useless stupid idiot.

      cerveza - 2011-04-12 10:02

@Realist - what is communist rhetoric? I dont think you understand the concept of communism or any part of its history if you think it is even remotely related to anything Zizo and Polyatonki says. They sound more like members of the KKK or pre-NP movements and they were as racist as they were anti-communism

  • gizzy - 2011-04-11 21:55

That's what the ANC is about. Stuff the poor that put them into power. It's all about lining the pockets of a few ANC cadres! No wonder they want to nationalise the mines. It would be to Aurora's benefit if they get bailed out! They feel nothing for those poor workers that work for NO pay!

      ArtGee - 2011-04-11 22:46

One word says it all: SIES!

  • Achmed - 2011-04-11 22:21

Guess who the Aurora miners are going to vote for? Unfortunately they probably don't know that their salaries were donated to the ANC. Lets tell them.

  • william.botha - 2011-04-11 22:22

Never mind that, I would love to know how those funds are going to be utilized.

  • Bill - 2011-04-11 22:27

You think you have heard it all....then these fools just bring up another banger! No morals, no scruples, no ethics, no honesty, no integrity, complete lack of ethics and absolutely no social responsibility! There are laws against this…why are they not being used?? Apathy must not be allowed to prevail further!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The_Realist - 2011-04-11 22:27

parallels between the ayencee and the mafia are painfully obvious! this R1million was probably protection money, thus no legal action against zooma and mandela's spawn. someone is always trying to topple the 'godfather' to have access to power and infinite wealth!

  • Zupta - 2011-04-12 06:03

I wonder who the aurora workers are voting for ?

      ANC-FTL - 2011-04-12 10:14

You'll probably find its the ANC - only god knows why.

  • markdhaupt1 - 2011-04-12 06:32

I can't believe that anyone out there is actually surprised at this revelation. The names are the same, the families, the political ties, all are in place and obviously the ANC didn't go into mining to benefit the miners. Think nationalization, think ownership, think the elite ANC families and then think about who you're voting for and why.

  • Mnumzane - 2011-04-12 07:07

Look who is talking, the same Freedom Front plus that its members ill treat farmworkers and dump them in rivers with crocodiles is now pointing at Khulubuse. Those who stay in glass houses must not throw stones.

      jwill - 2011-04-12 07:22

Hey genius, This is exactly the point that they are trying to make: A lot is being said against the treatment of farm worker.....yet no real political hype is being made about the treatment of the Aurora mine workers. This is all about double standards in politics But hey, I'm glad to see that you have absolutely NO problem with how the Aurora workers are being treated. It's wrong to mistreat any human being....get a life!!!

      gizzy - 2011-04-12 07:30

Where did you read that Mnumzane? Throwing stones is something ANC supporters are good at. It's happening up north a lot these days!

      jweer42 - 2011-04-12 07:40

These people will believe EVERYTHING someone high up tells them. Take what happened in the Northern Cape in a small town near Kimberly about 10 years ago. A girl got an epileptic fit outside a Metro Wholesaler and someone said she was bewitched by a GIANT FROG and some even claimed to have seen it in the store. The mob almost burnt down the store.

      william.botha - 2011-04-12 07:42

Mnumzane, seeing you like to generalize, the ANC was banned because they were terrorists, the same type that the USA and other countries are fighting today. So is that why we see the same mentality towards monetary management by the ANC? Blatant disregard for the lives of others not within the circle of friends?

      The Observer - 2011-04-12 07:51

      Hu?? whowhowhohahahahehehehhe

      ConcernedMom - 2011-04-12 08:08

Are you a moron????????? Regardless of the colour of their skin IT IS STILL WRONG TO ABUSE PEOPLE!!!!!

      Gaanake - 2011-04-12 09:15

So Mnumzane, the poor are there to be abused at will? The white farmers are doing it, so what's wrong with the ANC doing it? Just get their votes, give mines to the connected few and collect millions in donations. Above all, just make sure the workers' and the poor's rights are not protected. Let the Aurora miners who have not been paid, vote ANC and then starve... as long as the mighty ANC collects its donated millions. And you claim that you are fighting corruption? The hell you are!

      dracqlore - 2011-04-12 09:20

Yes every farmer treats his workers like that! Please man most of those farming communities are like families. Are there horrible people out there? Yes sir! And they come in all different colors, shapes and sizes. But to make a comment like this just demonstrates your ignorance. What people do to each other across all borders is wrong! Color has nothing to do with being evil.

      Peter - 2011-04-12 10:56

You dumb idiot, don't try to defend the indefendable. Those fools in the crocodile case were convicted and rightly faced justice. When last did one of your fat cat, fraudulent hero's that you insist on defending, face justice. The fact of the matter is that you and so many like you have become colour blinded by hatered towards the whites. Your race can do no wrong while the whites are the devil personified. Until you and others like you wake up to the reality of the situation and realise that you get rouges of all colours and that they all need to face justice. This country is doomed to go even further down the 'gurgler.' If you don't understand this it is a polite word for the "poop poo house."

  • The Observer - 2011-04-12 07:49

This story is if for tshepo, kalebo, polyatonki, Zizo and the newest arsholeo mr. empower O. Try this on for size you lot hypocrites’. Proof is in the pudding.

  • Peanut - 2011-04-12 07:56

This is a joke!!!! What will happen if the nationalize all the mines.... It will go the same route as Aurora!

  • bill - 2011-04-12 08:31

Like JZ he is an insensitive amoral oaf

  • brian - 2011-04-12 08:49

I would like one question to be answered and that is " who owns aurora" Fatboyand his buddies have not paid for it yet , so theoretically they cant own it. Secondly , while the mine was still producing gold , some was sold and some went walkies - mentioned on a program on tv a few months back, plant manager and fatboys figures varied quiet a lot. How does the precious metals act allow for this ,and why does the liquidator not question this and the donation? Aurora has been a hot bed of lies and shady deals for years now, yet they continue to destroy lives at will with the powers that be unable to or rather abetting the practice. Shame on all involved with Aurora , you have just received BLOOD money!!!!! Amazing that all the ANC moral highgrounders like zizo, poliodonkey etc are unable to throw stones at fatboy and his vile cronies now.

      paulf - 2011-04-12 09:47

It is owned by Zuma's cousin.

  • kuruption88 - 2011-04-12 09:03

    Association for Nepotism and Corruption

  • chiepner - 2011-04-12 09:50

The ANC is not serious about job creation. Its just another excuse to create programmes to siphon away million of rands to enrich the selected few politically connected comrades. BBEEE is just another tool that is used to make sure that those on top can stay on top while depriving the poor of what they truly promised them. Its shocking to think that a once proud party and stalward of freedom for all called The ANC has become so corrupt and power drunk that capatalism has been taken to an entire new level in this once "socialist" party. People are not important anymore. They are all just pawns and a means to an end. Stepping on them and setting them up for failure seems to be not much of a problem as long as it enriches the selected few ontop. Lies, deceipt and greed seems to be the new stepping stones within a party that was once a beacon and light and hope for not only South African's, but ALL AFRICANS. There is only right and wrong, no in between cause as soon as you start to play around in the grey areas, pretty soon you WILL find yourself standing in the wrong and not even care about how it negativly effects your neighbour. Aurora is one of many true reflections of how sick the soul of the ANC has become with an infestation of leaches only wanting one thing and one thing only. Money, money, money.

      paulf - 2011-04-12 10:27

Hey boet, very well said there and it is all true. I think we should demonstrate to this ANC led Government to get the hell out as they are making the poor even poorer while enriching themselves and connections.
