DA Nkandla visit racist, right wing: SACP

2012-11-03 14:00

Durban - Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille's planned inspection of President Jacob Zuma's home in Nkandla was nothing more than part of a racist right wing agenda, the SA Communist Party said on Saturday.

In a statement SACP spokesperson Malesela Maleka warned the DA leader that she would have to take full responsibility for the consequences of the visit to Nkandla on Sunday.

The Democratic Alliance said on Thursday it was planning to visit Zuma's private residence, where a R200m upgrade was in progress. Zille, accompanied by DA officials, would inspect roads around the property on Sunday and attempt to enter the compound.

"The SACP is peeved by the ongoing DA cheap publicity stunts and reckless attempts to score political points," he said. He said the visit was nothing more than a continuing attempt to insult Zuma.

"The SACP wishes to caution that Helen Zille must take personal responsibility, together with the DA, for any consequences arising out of such racist, insensitive and extremely provocative actions."

Maleka said the visit threatened the country's reconciliation between races. "The SACP urges Helen Zille, in the interest of national cohesion and unity to pull out of this dangerous publicity stunt." He urged the residents to protect Zuma's dignity.

In simple terms, stone-throwers are going to be bussed in to disrupt, or shall we say prevent the inspection. It is going to take a few buckets of KFCs to buy the illiterate and hungry to achieve the goal of the ANC, which is to prevent the truth from coming to light concerning Zuma's multi-million harem funded on theft from hardworking South African's tax public

      shirley.steenkamp - 2012-11-03 14:13

Can you imagine feeding all the wives and inlaws?????

      JohncarlosBiza - 2012-11-03 14:17

The stonethrowers are too dumb to realize the inspection is for their own benefit as citizens, ironically

      george.outremer - 2012-11-03 14:33

As a matter of national importance, the president is called on to ensure the safety of the DA leader during this inspection. To allow thugs to harm her or any member of her team in any way will bring about international condemnation.

      pieter.calitz - 2012-11-03 14:38

On her way to the inspection, she must just buy a few buckets of KFC and then we will see who is in trouble.

      keith.ngobeni - 2012-11-03 14:44

@themba, the problem with our country is it's full of idiots who lack basic knowledge because they left primary school through the windows, honestly who in their right mind can be bought to behave like a hooligan with a few pieces of meat?. Shame on you mister ANC for using the very same people you claimed to have liberated for your own selfish gains.

      louis.olivier.988 - 2012-11-03 14:48

Zille just take a few buckets of KFC and a few T-shirts with FU Zuma on them and all will be fine. They can't read anyway and KFC is their staple diet from politicians of the anc. Also just to make the odiots happy wear a T-shirt with the same anc colours. they won't know the difference.

      themba.thwala.775 - 2012-11-03 14:54

goie.jaarling, SA has over 51 million. The 12 million who voted for the ANC do not constitute a majority. So take your head out of your racist behind and do the maths before demonstrating your idiocy. Besides, you can moan until you turn purple, a majority of South Africans of all colours regret apartheid and don't want it back

      tim.gordon.5011516 - 2012-11-03 14:56

Racism definition: "A person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others." What exactly is racist about questioning whether the President is entitled to spend R200 million of tax payers' money on his private home?

      themba.thwala.775 - 2012-11-03 15:00

Keith I agree. The poor are so desperate they'll do anything just for a meal, and the ANC knows it and is taking advantage of them

      koos.meyer.52 - 2012-11-03 15:23

WTF do a bunch of dumb Communsists know about anything (Communism died a long time ago)? How ironic that Communists are in favour of R240m being spent illegally on 1 man whereas thousands upon thouands of RDP houses could be built instead. All they can do is produce the RACE CARD, brain-dead idiots...

      jason.heineberg - 2012-11-03 15:51

South African politician logic: Don't like, therefore must be racist...

      keith.f.murphy - 2012-11-03 15:59

this is not racsist its part of what we as tax payers should know whats happening with our tax monies and you cronies want to hide your criminal activities

      louis.langenhoven - 2012-11-03 16:00

@Koos- you are so right and it actually fills me with a terrible fear to think that Communists who are supposed to care for the people make these statements. They are indeed brain dead and there is absolutely NO HOPE. In the Bible Jesus told people that "you are blind- and if you acknowledged it there would be hope for you, but now you say you can see- and there is no hope". That the SACP can become involved in this just points to the frightening state of ignorance going round in our politics. but then- only this morning our Prez told us to stop saying ANC politicians are corrupt- just because it is not true...the logic is really foolproof.

      om.nom.nom.01 - 2012-11-03 16:10

Are you a racist according to the SACP? 1) Are you a taxpayer... TICK. 2) Are you tired of paying for politicians jets... TICK. 3) Are you tired of your tax earnings being squandered... TICK. 4) Are you tired of politicians not being held accountable... TICK. 5) Are you tired of Showerhead living the life of a billionaire...TICK. 6) Do you want to see how your tax earnings are being spent in Nkandla... Tick. Yep, sorry my friend, you are a racist. (It doesn't matter what race you are.)

      themba.thwala.775 - 2012-11-03 16:41

manu dibango, how many idiotic decisions were made by Zuma, challenged by Zille, and found to have been wanting again by the court? Who knows, maybe Zille will be able to find something that she can have the court decide on. I hope it is that Zuma must pay back. So start saving in order to help your stupid president to pay back every cent stolen from the taxpayer to enhance his harem. I'm sure you would not want to see your president's harem auctioned will you?

      themba.thwala.775 - 2012-11-03 17:11

manu dibango, I said "maybe". I don't know where you got "will." So I am sorry, as I have not said anything definitive about what Zille may discover, I cannot help you with any novel investigation techniques

      pieter.calitz - 2012-11-03 17:51

ANC and Nzimande visit to Parliament is racist.

      ryan.a.smith.3958 - 2012-11-03 19:22

"Maleka said the visit threatened the country's reconciliation between races." Fukc you Maleka. lets see what that does for your reconciliation.

      beverly.young3 - 2012-11-03 20:12

Has anyone seen the breakdown of the costs for this compound? Die Burger has just reported them, all which was started 7 months after Zuma was sworn into power......UN-BLOODY BELIEVABLE this is the part I like the best......"During the corruption trial of Schabir Shaik it was alleged that money from French arms dealer Thales was used to fund the building of the complex." ha ha haa

      tw2066 - 2012-11-04 05:12

reconcliation between races - Maleka says, forgetting about AA and BBBEE and Zumas view of democracy..... The ANC and SACP simply DONT WANT reconcilliation.

      clive.kihn - 2012-11-04 11:50

ssm: for the first time that I recall, I have to agree with you. The ANC IS "too soft on criminals and anarchy". I would add: especially that emanating from within its own ranks.

      Peter - 2012-11-04 12:51

Well put Themba, now how do we get this message across to those under the ANC spell of populism, mostly uneducated youth with no prospects, entirely due to the ANC the past 18 years which has done little to uplift and everything to engrain the VIctim culture within its voter base?

  • gary.desousa.7 - 2012-11-03 14:07

As in any DEMOCRATIC country anyone has the right to drive on public roads, to drive past houses and to even stop and take pics, afterall we told that its a privately owned home although the title dees do not show this. But my point is that the old commies cannot get out of the 1920 and think they can threaten people to do as they want. Idiots.

      mariuskowie - 2012-11-03 16:25

The threats against Zille and the calling of her and the DA racist, is old fashioned uncamouflaged intimidation.

  • mark.haupt.31 - 2012-11-03 14:07

I have news for all three of the SACP members: Nobody can damage Zooma's dignity as he doesn't have any. By the way, really think you people have an eastern European state somewhere that you can go and haunt, communism died a while back - whilst you were still at school.

      chris.nel.35 - 2012-11-03 17:30

They werent at school. Remember, liberation before education??

      warren.vanwyk.3 - 2012-11-03 19:29

  • eugene.muller.7 - 2012-11-03 14:08

Nkandla is a monument of corruption and thievery. A total disregard for the poor and people of SA. We need to see where our tax money went for this public funded 'private' residence. The whole thing stinks of hypocrisy and what is wrong with our current leaders. Vote the cANCer out and bring sanity back.

      louis.langenhoven - 2012-11-03 16:03

i was wondering the other day what it costs to build an RDP house- can anyone calculate for us how many could've been built with the 250 odd million this Nkhandla business is costing us?

      hugh.olphart - 2012-11-04 10:51

Louis, RDP houses cost around R30-40K per house. You looking at around 7000 homes.

  • duncan.gill1 - 2012-11-03 14:08

Take them on the world what type of people sit in this countries leading party..but be sure to take along enough supporters as they are a rather violent lot once they are made to look like fools!!!

  • flysouth - 2012-11-03 14:08

What possible 'consequences' could there be from a citizen of SA quite legally travelling to and visiting a place where the President's home is situated in order to look at the (no doubt) magnificence of that home? The veiled threat in these words from the SACP and similar threats from the ANC which have been made, illustrate beyond any possible doubt the true nature of these parties - which is racist, totalitarian and undemocratic in the extreme.

  • harold.parsons.37 - 2012-11-03 14:09

In what world is visiting his homestead racist? ANC and SACP have it in their heads that if u don't support them, it's because you are a racist. I don't think SA in general even know the true meaning of racism is anymore.

      siyabonga.nkosi.10 - 2012-11-03 15:01

Racism is when I teach you the job and two years down i'm told that you are now my boss, Racism is when I get to earn a low salary than you with your grade 9 qualification meanwhile i'm holding a university degree, Racism is when you and I go for a job interview and you get the job meanwhile you only had grade 10 and I have a college certificate, Racism is when I get to work at the workship for the rest of my life meanwhile you get to work at the office at the same time you know nothing about the product or the processes towards the final product. Now that is my defination of racism correct me if I'm wrong

      pws69 - 2012-11-03 16:13

Siyabonga, stop smoking that stuff, you are becoming delusional. Look at the latest census data ( Check out the percentage of whites vs blacks that complete matric, and complete university. THAT is why whites earn more, and get promoted. It has NOTHING to do with racism. 77.3% of whites have matric or higher education 35.5% of blacks have Matric or higher education Lesson: Get educated, and you will be truly liberated.

      siyabonga.nkosi.10 - 2012-11-03 18:22

pws69 - in SA it takes a masters degree for a black man to be liberated meanwhile it takes matric or even lesser for you guys. by the way I dont smoke perhaps you the one who smoke something. try to convince somebody's else not me. Toby.strong.9 whats the point there exactly????????

      riaan.mostert.58 - 2012-11-03 18:38

Siya Shame! Even with BEE, BBBEE, AA and all the other crap you still feel discriminated against. Maybe it's just you and you are unemployable? Kwaa

      herman.burger.5 - 2012-11-03 20:18

Siya, yours is a self defeating statement. There are countless examples of where black people are the beneficiaries of what you mention here often at the expense of white people> For example: I have a university degree and I earn a fraction of what President Zooma with his kindergarten 2 gets. The black bosses occupying jobs for which they are not qualified is at the root of the poor service delivery. The fact that you still feel discriminated against even though everything is in your favour says nothing for your ability.

      siyabonga.nkosi.10 - 2012-11-03 21:01

Herman- nothing is in my favor, your statement does not exist to me. Comparing your salary to the president's one shows exactly how much respect you have for a black man in general. i note that you have a strong believe that you are more important than anybody else. saying that black managers are the root of poor service delivery in areas where they are concerned is an absurd statement and once again prove your perception about the blacks in general. Until people like you change your attitude toward blacks, this country will not succeed its challenges

  • daniel.rossouw1 - 2012-11-03 14:31

Uhhm #1. Zuma needs to be stopped. Enough is enough! I really hope he looses in mangaung. \r\n\r\n#2. Zille is also out of order. Although Zuma is messed up, she still has no right to undermine the state president like that.

      themba.thwala.775 - 2012-11-03 14:43

So Zuma claims the harem is being build by members of his family, while public works on the other hand say it is using the taxpayers' money to build the harem, and you see establishing the truth as undermining Zuma? Are you on tik or sniffing glue?

      maria.roth.589 - 2012-11-03 15:31

Tebogo the state president has no right to steal our money. If you want to build a house for him do so I don't. The only one undermining the state president is Zuma with his corruption.

      robqb - 2012-11-03 16:17

So she must shut up and let the president spend our money as he wishes? Because he holds the title as president he can do as he likes and the rest of the country must shut the f up?

      gail.hayesbean - 2012-11-03 16:34

You know Tebogo, anywhere else either East or West, a President is held responsible for failure to fulfil his election promises or a deliberate act which affects those who pay his enormous salary such as is the case with ref. to Nkandla. It matters not that his family are doing the labour - nobody works for free on an empty stomach and also the materials being used cost money because they are all manufactured and transported in. The great Bill Clinton was impeached for improper sexual behaviour with a female intern and tried to lie about it. While he narrowly escaped being sent packing he will not be welcome back in the White House. Kings in Europe had their heads chopped off by the general population of have nots. Zuma is elected to power by an elite group of power and money hungry people who themselves stand to lose out if they place an honest man with the same level of intelligence in power. The only way the poor employed ANC cadres demonstrate unhappiness is by rioting and striking and destruction of the little they have. Zille as the leader of the Opposition has every right to go and see for herself - personally though I would prefer a plane to fall from the sky on Nkandla while Zuma en famille are in residence and obliterate the lot. He is NOT a king and he WON'T always be pres. Why then does he get to live as if he will rein until Jesus comes. Mbeki doesn't and neither does Mandela. Zuma did not singlehandedly free SA of apartheid.

      riaan.mostert.58 - 2012-11-03 18:39

  • andrew.mackie.90 - 2012-11-03 14:48

Well, it seems all the gravy train riders are happy to allow tax payers money to be spent on a private residence. Goes to show how many no brainers are in government and if a group of the oposition party wishes to inspect, I am all for it. In fact the more publicy given to this outing may just get to the people who put these people in office to serve them and sway their votes. To the SACP, their is nothing cheap about exposing how money from the treasury is being spent. The question arises are these objectors planning to bus in people to disrupt this inspection, it sure looks like it. Every citizen should be made aware of how our money is being spent.

Helen Zille is not a racist she is simply someone who wants a better South Africa which is NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE POOR

  • Grizzlybear - 2012-11-03 14:53

Ugghzzzzzzzzzzz...\r\nThe race card gets played yet again. Now inspecting a property is racist. What next?

  • graeme.murray.9 - 2012-11-03 14:55

Let helen visit- she won't petrol bomb the place. Unlike certain parties who resort to riots and intimidation.

  • sandy.sutherland.58 - 2012-11-03 14:56

I would LOVE to know why all of these people are so worried about this 'visit' - are they all jumping very rapidly to hide the extremely dodgy goings on? Hey SACP what have YOU guys got to hide, you slippin' and a slidin' on the gravy?

      paul.vermeulen3 - 2012-11-03 14:59

Probably his children were awarded the tender to build the houses, R30 million for the buildings and the rest backhanders!

  • graeme.d.barbour - 2012-11-03 14:57

All I can say is that thank goodness my tax no longer goes to support the corrupt ANC. There was so much hope for SA, just another corrupt, racist african country now.

  • phillip.marchant.52 - 2012-11-03 14:59

'Racist', 'apartheid-style', 'right wing', whatever - call it what you may, but the message is clear; independent thinking South Africans are fed up with the Jacob Zuma inspired total devastation of a nation, which under legitimate rule has the potential to become one of the world's great powerhouse economies (which in itself has the potential, through it's resurrection of the fortunes of the entire African continent, by those who would choose to be elected on an economic success ticket rather than their racist rantings, to change the fortunes of the entire world economy. Indeed, the world is looking at Africa) by a criminal ANC, and are prepared to put their bodies, and lives if necessary, on the line for their convictions. Nkandla is a disgrace and an insult to human intelligence, whilst children of the poor die every day en mass, because the rural clinic has had to close down, because of the diversion of funds into ANC cadre pockets. Are you so deceived by your master's lies, Malesela Maleka, that you would make yourself complicit in these murders? Are you so afraid to admit that the one's to whom you gave your mind and soul have so dismally failed you? You may call it a 'raid', but I call it the beginning of the end for a corrupt and thieving bunch of treasonists, who well know that the walls of justice are closing in fast. Nkandla is no retirement village, Malesela - it is a private military base, where the warlord will make his last stand, against the forces of good.

  • avril.powrie - 2012-11-03 15:01

No,no,no SACP, it is not racist, it is attempting to find out why tax payers money is being spent on a PRIVATE residential compound for showerhead.

  • george.pito - 2012-11-03 15:05

Zille my friend is from the Black Sash. She was the reporter that got the Steve Biko story going. With regard to Zumas village why bunkers or is he scared of his own people. 200 mil maybe the mineworkers must go there. Then he wants to freeze salaries of everybody else. Insulting Zuma he probably dont understand this term

  • tolo.maano - 2012-11-03 15:07

I think now black people become more racist than b4 every time whn mrs Zille talk about the bull da happen in da country she is a racist...I thnk is da time to grow-up 4 other nation take us c-rus...and wena malesela something happend to zille u r the blame....if dat is a threat then you hav to know dat something. Happend to her u will b alone sacp ga editsene....

      themba.thwala.775 - 2012-11-03 15:20

Hey you, Maal-esela is not "black people." He is an idiot who is paid to spew rubbish by the insignificant, backward thinkers calling themselves the SACP

      maria.roth.589 - 2012-11-03 15:51

He is not black people he is one person shouting his mouth off at the behest of people who are scared at what might come of this visit.

      morne.demeillon - 2012-11-03 15:58

Rightfully so Themba, in all cultures you get the same type of people everywhere.

  • Partiboy - 2012-11-03 15:08

Now I've heard it all. This country will hit turmoil in the next few years. Alaska here I come lol

      FinalJustice - 2012-11-03 15:27

You're probably right, it's just a matter of time. I will more than likely stay here, but I know my children won't, they don't need this crap. And in a few years their children will look down upon the whole of Africa, either dying of hunger or being taken over by Chinese, and at least know the whole story. Hopefully 1 day when the human race departs from here to colonize other planets and galaxies, they'll be selective in an appropriate manner and leave all the 'rats and the mice' behind.

  • caine.abel.75 - 2012-11-03 15:10

Sacp and cronies are creating racial tension where there is none

  • maria.roth.589 - 2012-11-03 15:12

When the opposition check on how taxpayers money is being spent. They are racist? When there is no linen in hospitals that,s good fiscal management I suppose. When public money is spent on property it is public property so presumably any one can visit. for the SACP to threaten a public figure is a threat to democracy. They should pull their heads out from where they have been keeping them and smell the coffee.

  • thando.mgqweto - 2012-11-03 15:14

I failed to understand the response from ANC and SACP bout the inspection of private funds being labelled as racist and shows an element of dishonest. To say to Zille should be personal responsible of her visit,is not an incitement of violane?

  • Charles Frederik Robberts - 2012-11-03 15:15

This sounds like a threat and intimidation! Is the DA going to inspect or run? Lets see what they are made of.
