its not dictatorship when people willingly dont vote u out

  • zmvulane - 2012-11-25 11:32

The reality of all the talks about the DA is a non-racial party for all will be reveled this afternoon.

  • Gareth L Pieterse - 2012-11-25 11:34

There's an example of a peaceful democratic action. How hard was that? Everyone lived through it, and results available the same day. Didn't take all year of building suspense either.

      JanGrimbeek - 2012-11-25 11:46

Didn't take a year to rig the votes !

      Gareth L Pieterse - 2012-11-25 11:54

While they stall and blind us with the Mangaung conference they were busy counterfeiting the new notes. Interesting that fakes were spotted the day after they were released. Hmmmm.

  • fanie.weldhagen - 2012-11-25 11:36

bloody hell, does everything on these news24 posts need to be about different races.

      morne.demeillon - 2012-11-25 17:50

Sganja, its really not about color, its about who can do the job most effective! I'm sure that the next leader of the DA will be black, not because of their color, but of their capability! Stop being a racist and look past the color or are you color blind?

  • michael.jackwood - 2012-11-25 11:37

So Madam is having second term, good luck! I am looking forward to see Madam againts Zuma in the next 5 years!

      beverly.young3 - 2012-11-25 13:46

Me too....I am so chuffed. Well done lady knight!! Take us forward now.

  • aroka.murombe - 2012-11-25 11:38

Since I'm black for that matter, I've never hater whites nor loved them but honestly you guy don't like us period. But what choice do I have I rather be hated than being poor for the rest of ma life.... Ma next vote goes straight to you, I for one think you have the potential to hate and serve....

      Gareth L Pieterse - 2012-11-25 11:46

Sadly, racism can be looked down on, and we can pass as many laws as we want, but it will never disappear. Not all of us are racist; I would suggest just taking a realistic outlook. Who can get the job done, and how soon can we get them in?

      aroka.murombe - 2012-11-25 11:51

Sorry gareth 90% of you guys not exactly you

      bobby.rosewood.1 - 2012-11-25 12:12

Where do you get that from?? I really don't care about anyone's colour, and last time I checked I was Caucasian? My wif'es coloured, my kids therefore too.

      matthew.patrick.925 - 2012-11-25 12:34

Aroka, sorry you feel that way. Sadly, racism will always exist as long as there are different races but I hope you'll see that in SA all racists, whether black, white, yellow, coloured, etc., are a minority, not the 90% you think there is.

      morne.demeillon - 2012-11-25 17:54

Aikona, Aroka you are wrong wena. 90% of white people are not racist, but the minority are - but this you get in all races.

  • Tee Crush - 2012-11-25 11:42

A South African born can be a South African president,by the majority vote of democracy,,Black, white, colored,or Indian

  • mshiniboys - 2012-11-25 11:46

The DA is still the only party that has not had memebrs who got arrested for kiling fellow comrades.I hope it stays that way.

      mawandewonderman.mkuba - 2012-11-25 12:34

Mshiniboys you are only trying to get thumbs up

      mshiniboys - 2012-11-25 12:37

Sgaja good question....if you are well aware of democratic politics this point can not be ignored.im just applauding people who do good and I hope you are not saying I am doing wrong by aknowledging people who do not kill others.have you killed a comrade? You seem to wory about this statement :) all im saying is that i wish we could take this good example from this party as members of other parties.another point is that they dont disrespect their leaders......just to add.

      mshiniboys - 2012-11-25 12:40

Mawande you can name me one DA member that you know then i will retract my statement...because i can give you more than one in other parties :) im an honest person and unlike you, im not here for emotional support.

  • moriri.mosweu - 2012-11-25 11:49

The ANC presidency is contested for periodically, now that is democracy. One to couple of rotten potatoes are dealt with in the ANC. We do not want to see a stream line of family members taking over from each other uncontested for in this day and era. The da want to drag us backward, we do not want to see madam her family and possibly her concubines being in charge for ever. They are first in criticising Mugabe for ruling forever and yet what is zille doing? they will fool the weak minds.

      themba.thwala.775 - 2012-11-25 11:59

How is the presidency contested when people are told who to vote for by 5000 sheep that will be gathering in Mangaung? The presidency will be "contested" on the day that Zuma goes to the entire SA population to convince them why he is a better candidate. Right now a few sheep gathering behind closed and naming Zuma does not mean "contest", especially given the fact that the ANC has only about 1 million members who vote for them, and impose an incompetent president over about 50 million South Africans

      moriri.mosweu - 2012-11-25 12:09

Exactly my point themba, those sheep are challenging his stand. What sheep are challenging hellen? wake up themba, I do not condone what Zuma is doing and I know he will be dealt with. My stand is Africa is not yet ready for a non-black again, they bled us it was enough I rather bleed myself or be bled by my own kind.

      bruce.arnett.18 - 2012-11-25 12:42

I would rather not bleed at all and only the ignorant and bigoted do not see that this option is available to us South Africans.

  • mawandewonderman.mkuba - 2012-11-25 12:42

Smoke screen democracy like western dictatorships(UK,USA). With funny position titles. Where is Joe Seremani? Bloody agents.

      julio.sanfona - 2012-11-25 16:23

Mkuba, I you say that UK & USA are Western dictatorships, can you please give us some examples of real democracies?

  • abner.malema - 2012-11-25 12:50

Still a white man party. They only neeed blacks vote.

  • Mbuso Siera - 2012-11-25 12:57

DA elective conference might have been easy going with Zille not contested....but wait until they win the national elections nd be in governance if that will ever happen in this life time...u will see the killing, position fighting....nd corruption of its comrades....no country is corrupt free in this world....The DA is hungry for governance, they ain't clean....they have their hidden agendas.... i don't see them able to close the gap between the wealthy nd poor...of this country even.... the chinese economy is battling to close such a gap.....

      JanGrimbeek - 2012-11-25 13:47

" the chinese economy is battling to close such a gap....." You are so right there, but the chinese economy is also battling the "corrupt chinese government" who are the rolemodels for our current corrupt regime. No economy can fight corrupt governments.

  • mshiniboys - 2012-11-25 13:00

ANC will rule this country nd continuing to win national elections claiming all nine provinces nd be in power in all the generations.....south africa does not need a new political party but new competed trusted leadership....this country was a mess economical when the ANC took over in 1994....nd still trust the ANC for further new continuing change....

  • Shane Kelly - 2012-11-25 13:31

One fine day people the DA will rule.

  • georgebrightons - 2012-11-25 13:33

Waste of time and taxpayer's money. Let all parties form 1 opposition party against the mighty ANC. The ANC will win every election at anytime. God bless Africa

      julio.sanfona - 2012-11-25 16:33

There is nothing wrong the ANC, it's a pity their supporters are all moronic sheep that cannot keep the party honest.

  • zmvulane - 2012-11-25 15:23

I hope you guys have seen the election results of the DA conference - typical outcome of the DA equal opportunities society with only the DA imbongi Mmusi Maimane making it to the party's elitist leadership structure.

  • Carlton - 2012-11-25 16:07

Hahaha ANC trolls have been out in full lately, I wonder why... Lol

      phillip.marchant.52 - 2012-11-25 17:19

Utter desperation, Carlton. They resort to looking to these pages, anywhere, to find some sort of kinsmanship, in fear of going down alone. My question always is why the need to rally support, let alone make a complete ass of oneself doing it, if so sure of an overwhelming majority? It's all there - race card, ethnicity, nationalism, insult, idiocy, denial, intolerance and of course the thinly veiled undercurrent of physical threat - all the things the apartheid regime were guilty of, and which the ANC swore they would never aspire to. Man, it must be a bitter pill to swallow, firstly to have to come to the realization that one has been duped all along, and secondly to have to go along with the lie, knowingly making a complete chump of oneself in the process, simply because one's deeply ingrained prejudice will not allow one to admit that one has been wrong, and that one can no longer support a government who murders it's own citizens, not exclusively through the barrel of a gun. No, the abandonment of any last suspicion of self-respect or sensibility certainly appears like a last-gasp screech into the ear of the sleeping boxer to get up and fight, after he just made contact with a three tonne demolition ball...

  • piero.mendace.5 - 2012-11-25 17:31

Mbuso, dream on the ANC days are numbered, you cant full all the people all the time, just so like you. We dont need your vote, carry on betraying your black brothers - vote ANC.

  • piero.mendace.5 - 2012-11-25 17:32

You cant fool all the people all the time, just some like you.

  • piero.mendace.5 - 2012-11-25 17:40

God will need to blessvAfrica George, he is about the only one that can save you from yourselves and your narrow minded greedy leaders. But dont despair when the ANC is kicked to the curve - which it will be. The real Government will restore it!!

  • gphosa - 2012-11-25 21:27
