EFF not racist, just honest - Malema

2013-10-15 19:01

Vanderbijlpark - The EFF is not a racist organisation, but white people must learn to share, the party's leader Julius Malema said on Tuesday.

"We are not a racist organisation, we are an honest organisation," he told students at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) in Vanderbijlpark.

"If white people want a permanent holiday they must return the stolen property."

Malema was referring to reports that some EFF members displayed placards that carried racist messages at its launch in Marikana at the weekend.

According to Gauteng EFF spokesperson Patrick Sindane messages read "Honeymoon is over for whites" and "To be a revolutionary you have to be inspired by hatred and bloodshed".

He said the party was disappointed in those members.

Malema, dressed in a yellow button shirt and dark sunglasses, stood on the back of a bakkie in the parking lot of the VUT's main residence on Tuesday and addressed students dressed in red T-shirts and red berets.

Some shielded themselves from the sun with umbrellas while others sat under trees.

Malema said there would never be reconciliation in the country as long as whites had the land.

"These people, the black masses are hurting... The more you become more rejecting to the idea of sharing the land you will have an unled revolution, and that is anarchy. We don't need anarchy. Let us talk about a genuine reconciliation," Malema said.

"The future is going to be very bright if you decide to share with us."

Just before Malema arrived at the gathering students sang songs ridiculing President Jacob Zuma and made gestures mocking the way he pushes his glasses up his nose.

  • Keg - 2013-10-15 19:07

    Nope pure racist pigs

      Keg - 2013-10-15 19:30

      You are exactly the same!!!

      Verbotene Liebe - 2013-10-15 19:42

      Kilo Muto - 2013-10-15 20:07

kolobe all i can say is oop your eyes you are not seeing anything

  • Derek Bredenkamp - 2013-10-15 19:08

I like his concept of wealth sharing. Maybe the rich should think for a minute. It sounds like a better option than anarchy.

      Omge Klits - 2013-10-15 19:37

I like the way he says the land belong to him - wonder what the Koi & San thinks - and those old Voortrekkers that trekked through vast empty spaces devoid of Malema's

      Tersia Louw - 2013-10-15 20:13

An empty space devoid of Malema is sounding really good right now.

      Armstrong Dreadnaught - 2013-10-15 20:21

@Derek - I worked for everything I have, mostly out of the country. I worked in an industry that is totally international and non-racist. I will not "share my wealth" with a racist like Malema.

  • Peter Schlebuach - 2013-10-15 19:12

Julius why can't you admit to one thing and one thing only, you hate us whites and for this I say to you ,I feel pity for you cos your own people will turn on you some day ,as they did to Zuma your own mentor who you turned on

  • sxp - 2013-10-15 19:16

This idiot clearly has no clue about truth or how to live in peace. Malema, proof this theft you are on about or shut up.

  • Mabs - 2013-10-15 19:16

    WTF have I stolen!!!?????????????????????????????????

      Morne de Meillon - 2013-10-15 20:05

Mabs, dont worry its a racist thing -ask Masi

  • Jon Low - 2013-10-15 19:16

"To be a revolutionary you have to be inspired by hatred and bloodshed". He said the party was disappointed in those members. Those members were bearing expensive, professionally-made banners bearing the EFF full-colour logo. Quite clearly, these banners were produced by/for the party itself, not by the dirt-poor members carrying them. Be honest, EFF.

      Morne de Meillon - 2013-10-15 20:06

      Goeie .

      Tersia Louw - 2013-10-15 20:15

And Malema was the oke singing "Shoot the Boer".

  • Xovizwe Ndebele - 2013-10-15 19:17

juju is a pure racist..this is not zimbabwe..this country blongs to blue,,black,,green,,indians@whites etc..he must not cum wth his dogmatic tendency..we dnt need rejects

      Thobi Nkosi - 2013-10-15 19:55

u should really go back to ur history books...n stop with ur brainwashed mentality! u dont even know what u talking about.

      Morne de Meillon - 2013-10-15 20:07

      100% correct Xovizwe

      Masi Africa Zitha - 2013-10-15 20:16

Awuu Jamba Jamba Jamba! you again with your assumptions. no man will ever employ me!

  • Letlotlo Sephapo Malope - 2013-10-15 19:17

I'm all for expropriation of land without compensation where our people were forcibly removed to make way for white people. But nationalising the Banking industry (even the oceans, I read) is uncalled for and bad economics. There is some element of truth in SOME of Malema's stances that people are just afraid to call out. I just wouldn't trust HIM to deliver us into Economic Freedom.

      Michael Kleber - 2013-10-15 19:26

fair comment Letlotlo , i think julius would be bad for our economy which would be bad for our country , not to mention the other negatives

      Morne de Meillon - 2013-10-15 20:09

Letlotlo, please explain to me what economic freedom means.

      Sean Hugo - 2013-10-15 20:22

Malone, please tell me where your people were removed? I am taking it for granted that you are not Koi San;it which case you may have a legitimate case.

      Letlotlo Sephapo Malope - 2013-10-15 20:29

@ISO Economic Freedom for me (I don't know for other people) will be a black man can walk into a boardroom and be respected for his work and not second-guess just because of his skin colour.

      Letlotlo Sephapo Malope - 2013-10-15 20:30

@Sean refer to my reply in the first post. Stop your ignorance.

  • Immanuel Willemse - 2013-10-15 19:17

2 many ppl are 2 poor in dis rich country , whites ,blacks not issue ,WE need change 4 all.

      Masi Africa Zitha - 2013-10-15 19:51

Welcome to EFF Sir, this is what we have been preaching.

      Morne de Meillon - 2013-10-15 20:10

Everything For Free? Wake up Masi nothing is for have to work to live your dream, only when you retire!

      Dave Johnston - 2013-10-15 20:28

@Masi, EFF is such a contradiction. EFF is holding Communism work shops right? EFF's work shop teachings will be that of Marxist economics. How is then that EFF is saying that people will get land under their leadership? EFF supporters clearly think that they will be given land to own. However Communism doesn't allow for ownership of land by the people. Under Marxist Economics, the land is owned by the state ONLY? So what is it that EFF is actually preaching?

  • Blaxxmyth - 2013-10-15 19:20

I know Solidarity and FF are racist.I am not sure about EFF.

  • Mark Kronenberg - 2013-10-15 19:20

Did u share before SARS closed u down? Big fat NOOOO

  • Prakash Singh - 2013-10-15 19:22

You go Julius, you go for president, you will get support.

      Jonathan William King - 2013-10-15 19:29

Not surprising that you are living in India, you must be a Gupta.

  • Jonathan William King - 2013-10-15 19:23

Amazing how people can support someone who is having corruption charges against them.

      Sam Adams - 2013-10-15 20:14

Welcome to SA Jonathan, Mandela had charge, Zuma had Charged it is only Mbeki who was clean. That's how we roll boosh

  • Jay Hull - 2013-10-15 19:24

Can't somebody just shut this racist piece of crap up!!! I'm so sick of him and his wannabe NAZI party,

  • Michael Kleber - 2013-10-15 19:24

We pay 30% tax , petrol tax , vat , adds up to close to 50 % of our salaries , that goes to govt which is supposed to be used it for social grants , hospitals , education , housing which all benefits the poor , unfortunately alot of it ends up in the wrong peoples banks accounts , so take this fight up with the ANC , but what it really boils down to is that we are sharing julius , almost 50 % of our salaries

      Barend Wasserman - 2013-10-15 20:01

Not to even mention forking out R200 per Wine glass rental by the ruling party. Julius keeps on saying the white man has the monopoly. However, the anc is spending white, indian, black taxes like there is no tomorrow. But noooo. The white man has everyting. We are labeled as the minority yet we pay our taxes. The anc is the majority spending those taxes in luxury while the poor is suffering without proper toilets and housing. Yet the white man is at fault. Why don't Malema start a war against the anc for taking from the rich, the poor, the whites, the blacks, the indians and any other culture out there and live like kings with fat car big houses and huge parties with ALL of our taxes?

  • mica.gogome - 2013-10-15 19:25

Sharing is a good idea. And it also depends on what needs to be shared. The land?Yeah if it was given to me freely, then I can freely share but if I paid for it then its my choice whether to give it up,sell it or share it.So JUJU must stop misleading and corrupting the mind of innocent poor youth

      Tersia Louw - 2013-10-15 20:18

Maybe the "innocent poor youth" should learn to think.

  • Stefan Oosthuizen - 2013-10-15 19:27

I don't even own a farm. Will Malema provide me since I haven't stolen?

      Jonathan William King - 2013-10-15 19:43

  • Bruce Mawillis - 2013-10-15 19:27

What a brave young man. A giant. Anything to do with land to its rightful owners is a good thing. You cant expect a land thief to give you back without antagonism because they know the wealth of land, the political and social power. Even in the bible God gave land to the people for them to benefit from it. Malema you are a loyal son of the soil and your fight is righteous and i see you making a change for africans in your country.

      Carike Maley - 2013-10-15 19:50

oh dear Bruce. And once your faithful, loyal son has given all the "white" land to the "poor black people", where will we get food? Who is going to feed our country? Zimbabwe (Bread basket of Africa) - oh.. no.. they tried that.. now they're starving.. WTF!?!? Wake up?!?!

      Bruce Mawillis - 2013-10-15 20:14

The stage for those scare tactics is over. Land will be taken by force in the coming 5yrs. These are facts, that the landholders and landless are aware of. Its better for those who own land to make the right decisions otherwise what happened in Zim is going to look like a picnic.

      Dave Johnston - 2013-10-15 20:43

According to EFF they are teaching Marxist economics in their work shops. Communism is about the land being owned by the State ONLY. So the people are not going to own land according to those work shop please explain how things are going to work or is it going to be a another Nzimande story where you drive a BMW 750 like a capitalist & only talk like communist?

  • Masi Africa Zitha - 2013-10-15 19:27

Below an Article about EFF, I saw an Advert that read: "Want to emigrate to NZ?,go to".

      Jonathan William King - 2013-10-15 19:33

They know that SA is going to be Zimbabwe soon, and offering people a way out while they still can.

  • Chris Grobbelaar - 2013-10-15 19:29

So is most white men too. Especially those Boere that was murdered on their farms by cowardly murderers. You want a piece of land, learn to farm and be aproductive citizen of this country and go buy a piece of land like any other boer (farmer) did. We(all South Africans) don't need your racist warmongering. Black and white can live together. No one in this country needs your anarchist, terrorist propaganda. Just being honest.

  • Harry Boesman - 2013-10-15 19:30

Aaah yes. The old "I'm not racist, but..." statement -- no longer the sole privilege of the whites. In the New South Africa being white and racist is a no-no, but being a black racist seems to be all the rage. Not exactly what we expected when we battled against the old order. How sublime the intentions, how prosaic the outcome!

  • Xovizwe Ndebele - 2013-10-15 19:33

stupid malema still wants the farm that was taken by sars..think he must b talking abt carpentry not farming...he has no clue.

  • Kilo Muto - 2013-10-15 19:35

julius if you knew that agriculture only contributes 2.4% of gdp (feb 21 2013 index mundi) then we wudn be fightin abt all thisnonsense. the real solution lies in equiping our people with sophisticated skills thru quality education because services account for 64.9% of gdp and not land grabbing. owww by the way you and the anc destroyed the education system now you dnt know what to do. you have destroyed the masses and now desperate to win their hearts back. if only they knew. we need to be competitive in the global markets not spend tym fightin over such.

      Phae Rayden - 2013-10-15 19:44

Could you possibly get this message across to Julius? He needs a serious upgrade to his understanding of economic freedom. The greatest concern is he is leading desperate people with propaganda down a road that can only end in violence and loss for everyone.

      Mike Leggatt - 2013-10-15 19:44

Agreed! I think racism becomes an issue when one starts to generalize without looking at specifics. SA has a complicated social tapestry and history. Maybe some parts of the country should apply for independence.

      Kholekile Dyala - 2013-10-15 19:57

  • Tin Can - 2013-10-15 19:37

Red T-Shirts,red berets, yellow shirts, dark sungalsses, black people and white people but no mention of the colour of umbrellas...How unthoughful to such a colourful article about racism.

  • Sva B-man - 2013-10-15 19:37

Media has totally misinterpreted the banners. "The honeymoon is over for whites" - this phrase is basically saying that the time of white privilege is over. "To be a revolutionary you must be inspired by hatred and bloodshed" - this is said with regards to the hardships that revolutionaries are destined to face. To be a revolutionary, u have to not only expect that people in power will hate you but also that they will kill to maintain they power. But as a revolutionary this should not deter you but inspire you, alas "u can ku

      Tersia Louw - 2013-10-15 20:23

The misinterpretation is yours, Sva B-man; we understand those banners all too clearly. But feel free to continue trying to justify the unjustifiable.

  • Omnivore - 2013-10-15 19:42

Malema, you are many things but honest? Wena?

  • Prince Ramalia - 2013-10-15 19:42

he call a spade a spade not a garden tool

  • Mike Peach - 2013-10-15 19:43

Guys sell the farms quick or abandon them lets see who the banks will claim the arrears from when the ex farmer declares himself bankrupt and lets see who will lay claim to that land then.Eff is a cancer military wing doing their dirty work.

      Tersia Louw - 2013-10-15 20:25

If the farmers abandon their life's work the nation will starve, Mike.

  • Mark Russell - 2013-10-15 19:43

I think they are honestly racist! A man's body with the mind of a two year old spoiled brat. Juju does not know anything about suffering and hard work. Banners with offensive comments about another race is racist young man. You can not put that out there and then claim to not be racist.

  • Donovan Botha - 2013-10-15 19:44

just do what u need to and we will do what we need to i got for you prickster

  • Daniel Watson - 2013-10-15 19:44

i would love to listen to a debate with Zuma and Malema with regards to the future of SA and who would play what role....and what r the two going to do about uniting all of SA more of that we only see blacks... whites are the enemy junk....democracy is in SA after all

      Carike Maley - 2013-10-15 19:57

Seriously? You think they can have a debate without someone writing the script beforehand? You must be joking

  • Sbu J Ngcobo - 2013-10-15 19:45

comrade malema right if the white does not want share then we have problem !!!

      Gerrit Prinsloo - 2013-10-15 19:50

Share for what? The whites earned their land legally and by working hard! Can't always give everything freely to the african people, it doesn't work that way! Get an education and work for what you want, things didn't come freely to us whites, we can't always just give, give, give!

      Thoko Khanya - 2013-10-15 19:54

Then we will go Mugabe way. Either we share or Mugabe way. One of the two.

  • Carike Maley - 2013-10-15 19:45

seriously! shut up! They are trying to build political empires while 2 & 3 year old children are being raped and murdered! Wake up South Africa!! oh and BTW.. News24.. your so quick to remove comments and close comments on stories.. does the truth hurt? Stand up South Africans, let's stop sitting in front of our PC's and commenting on stories and start DOING something!! Let's start our own political party.. PAG = Parents Against Crime!

  • Garth Meister - 2013-10-15 19:46

you insult your own people.. by stating that whites must share you're implying that blacks are incapable of accumulating their own wealth.

      Wish Masilela - 2013-10-15 20:19

don't twist things in your favour. Tell your brothers to give back the lands and we'll accumulate our wealth using those lands

      Tersia Louw - 2013-10-15 20:27

How much wealth has been accumulated by lands already handed back, Wish? And how many farms were sold or left to rot?

      Dave Johnston - 2013-10-15 20:55

@ Wish..exactly what Tersia said. You are so up to date, so educated and so wise. (You sure there should be an H instead of an E at the end of your name?) The Government has admitted that 90% of the land handed back has failed to be productive. NINETY PERCENT!!! oh genius one

  • Jerome Naidoo - 2013-10-15 19:46

How can a person not be racist with all that anger and hate he and his supporters harbor against whites? I guess working hard and improving your own circumstances & standard of living was never a thought for these people. Lazy id*ots!

      Jonathan William King - 2013-10-15 19:48

Seems people will support anyone these days as long as they get handouts.

  • Donovan Botha - 2013-10-15 19:46

im not racist either just being honest bby

  • Rampant - 2013-10-15 19:50

The man who is being investigated for fraud now talks of honesty? Honesty in the words appearing on his banners. Question; is he eligible to hold office or are we really in a banana republic?

  • Gerrit Prinsloo - 2013-10-15 19:51

Share for what? The whites earned their land legally and by working hard! Can't always give everything freely to the african people, it doesn't work that way! Get an education and work for what you want, things didn't come freely to us whites, we can't always just give, give, give!

  • Maxwell Vdw - 2013-10-15 19:51

You should learn to pay your tax

  • Moss Kop - 2013-10-15 19:53

What we need is unity amongts South African. The Eff demands must be directed to people who govern and big business. All the whites don't own land only the few whites. So capitalism don't have colour boy.

  • Mhlts Petrus - 2013-10-15 19:54

    Yes not racist,effective failled fools

  • Rampant - 2013-10-15 19:55

malope; if that is the case, why is the anc doing nothing about it. Do not talk nonsense. It is the anc that holds power, not the so called white man. Are you living in a different country?

  • Jutice Forall - 2013-10-15 19:55

"...white people must learn to share" That's pretty big coming from the same who had to be sued for tax money and lived the lavish life while his brothers and sisters went without. BIGOT much?????

      Mlungisi Ncane - 2013-10-15 19:56

      Same as you!

  • Tony Grainger - 2013-10-15 19:57

Apartheid is dead oh sorry reverse Apartheid is not dead why should the white people have to keep paying for the ANC's lack of insight into the future of South Africa, Malema is a wolf dressed in sheeps clothing but he also is like the boy who kept crying wolf. What both the ANC & Malema fail to recognise is that if they stopped padding their pockets with everybodies money, that is the white man their fellow black people, the Indian people, the coloured people the tooth fairies money & axtualy used that money for the benefit of those whom are stuck in poverty in the townships BUT also take note that it is impossible to wipe out poverty just as it is impossible to wipe out the following..LUST & GREED & Jealousy ...the lusting after another man's fortune & the GREEDY officials who deprive others of a better life & the Jealousy of those whom are not stupid like you are Malema!! Haven't you heard communisim died a long time ago, it doesn't work...maybe you neeed glasses...

  • Jemma Payne - 2013-10-15 19:57

Malema proved to the whole world that Red October was 100% correct !

  • Odirile Seemise - 2013-10-15 19:59

LOL most of the comments by our fellow whites are riddled with fear hence they so illogical and racist. The only black people who are agree with your racist comments laced as facts are our uncle toms. You can tarnish Malema all you like, but his message of Economic freedom is out, and the same youth that you insult daily are hungry for economic freedom and let's see you try stop them.

  • Phumutso Madinane - 2013-10-15 20:01
