2012-02-29 21:40

Johannesburg - ANCYL leader Julius Malema has been expelled from the ANC, the party's national disciplinary committee said in a statement on Wednesday.

Malema can, however, appeal this decision within 14 days.

  • IAnon - 2012-02-29 21:42

OOps - now for that drink ...

  • Desmond - 2012-02-29 21:42

    Horaah. Next step JAIL.

  • kgomotso.radise - 2012-02-29 21:42

  • Pieter Le Roux - 2012-02-29 21:43

So JM gets another chance to appeal. How many does he need and how many chances does the ANC want to give this guy?

      Jafta Sep - 2012-02-29 21:45

Yhooo another appeal?I've lost count now....

      Greg - 2012-02-29 21:59

I bet Julius did not expect his Appeal would have him expelled as well .....this indicates that the ANC are now tired of this destructive idiot....Now its time for SARS and the HAWKS to start producing some results, or risk being branded incompetent....They must not wait for yet another drawn out Appeal to be concluded.

  • Kim - 2012-02-29 21:43 Brilliant news. But the idiot gets to appeal AGAIN !!

      Moraka Masipa - 2012-02-29 21:50

He will appeal because the ANC constitution allows for that but he is literally finished. Someone say amen to that.

      Francois - 2012-02-29 21:58

For an organization that has so much to say on the courts, it is ironic that there system has so many rights to appeal. Guess this was in retribution to apartheid's legal system. Maybe they just cannot belief that someone can be guilty or understand it?

      Morne - 2012-02-29 21:58

      Theo - 2012-02-29 22:11

  • stadlervanzyl - 2012-02-29 21:45

  • Martin - 2012-02-29 21:47

how many times can he appeal this?

      ddejong3 - 2012-02-29 21:54

I think his previous appeal was against his 5 year suspension. He's now been expelled, which is a different decision.

  • Sariena - 2012-02-29 21:48

  • Shirley Van Heerden - 2012-02-29 21:49

    Halelluja! wooooooooooo! hooo! yesss!

  • collins.makgopa - 2012-02-29 21:49

Popularity contest at the expense of democracy has paid dividends to Malema. Leaders come en go. the Hawks and Madonsela must follow with investigations.

  • Kenny - 2012-02-29 21:50

      Glyn - 2012-02-29 22:04

That is what it is all about, pay in the back pocket! Personal power! Big black Mercedes (one star car), with tinted windows! That is what politics is in the anc. DO NOT VOTE anc!

      Zandile Matshidiso Nkosi - 2012-02-29 22:15

Dude, it's ignorant people like you who follow idiots like Malema. Your grammar and spelling are horrendous and you need to fix that first. That might just give you the brain cells to see that Malema and his idiots are using poor, uneducated South African's to further their own interests.

      mundu.olewega - 2012-02-29 22:54

All politicians, including Malema are corrupt. Getting rid of one is a good start, especially if he is destructive and divisive as well. Next kick out Zuma for his part in the arms deal.

  • Sean - 2012-02-29 21:51

Believe it or not, he has 3 appeals left. The last one is at their NEC where they, the anc will finally make voter a decision on whether he can stay or not. I cant beeleeef. Earlier today there was an artcile that explained this.

  • Muhammed Bhyat - 2012-02-29 21:51

Justice has been served. Well done!

  • Mancoba Dlamini - 2012-02-29 21:51

  • CliveL - 2012-02-29 21:53

How many times is the NDC going to give him a chance to appeal? He obviously will appeal and then we'll wait for another verdict and in the meantime he continues to spread racism and hatred.....enough already!

  • Fred - 2012-02-29 21:53

This is really good news!! Now the Hawks and SARS need to do their job and put this racist in jail where he belongs

  • Cy - 2012-02-29 21:53

How many times can the ANC give Malema the chance to appeal to a decision they make!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!

  • Beatrice Matlakala - 2012-02-29 21:53

Are all this appeals really necessary? Can someone tell me what not happening in the ANC? Looks like I'm missing something

  • Greg - 2012-02-29 21:55

About time. BUT - is the next Circus Act about to start - with yet another Appeal process????....And all this at the Taxpayers expense.

  • annelize.jerling - 2012-02-29 21:55

wait a bit before you celebrate..he will simply start a new party, won't he? he was expelled from ANC not politics..

      Glyn - 2012-02-29 22:10

Good! Now he can start a new party and get all those 35year old "youth" to go with him. That should make parliament a bit more lively! I bet that he does not have the courage to go it alone! No brains.

  • tshilisananin - 2012-02-29 21:55

  • graham.christensen1 - 2012-02-29 21:57

  • John - 2012-02-29 21:57

He still has many appeals... All the way to the ANC conference in December. We haven't heard the last of this boy... He's not going quietly. Just hope that his next appeal will be from behind bars...

Awesome! This should've been done ages ago. Good riddance

  • George - 2012-02-29 22:03

He can appeal the sentence and not the verdict. Even if he buys time with his appeals he will not have enough time to the policy conerence in June let alone mangaung.

  • Perfume5 - 2012-02-29 22:04

2012 has started on a VERY good note - best news ever. Is this decision with immediate effect??

  • Jan Theophilus Zanele Mahlangu - 2012-02-29 22:07

it's long time coming,he though his bigger than the organisation,he didn't show any remorse and he was serving his own agenda,it's a lesson to all and all those who play monopolism within the party.well done ANC for the great decision you make,I was wondering who he was going lead if he failed simply woodwork,What a illitrate

      Theo - 2012-02-29 22:24

      Amen !!

  • Trudy - 2012-02-29 22:10

Eish, not sure if this is a good thing. Nothing stops him from creating his own party and fighting the ANC. With the millions of uneducated thugs he has as supporters it could get ugly here.

      Glyn - 2012-02-29 22:17

Strife within the anc is ok! Keep appealing JuJu!

  • Mongy - 2012-02-29 22:17

These are the results when you do not liste. Malema brough this untowards him as he thoguht he was indespensable. He might have the chance to appeal but the chances are veru smill or it could dreg long till the december elctions. it goes to show if you were not trained for a certain position / leadership you tend to buldoze it any how and this result to this end , as mush as the issues that he was rasing were geniune but the approach was completly wrong all to gether , as much as he believed in robust debates but his were in a way undermining older people who have been in the political arrena , farewell Juju , ukulwile ukulwa okuhle .....go and rest and take a break , discover you true inner you and your purpose and existance in life
