Enca's Xolile Mngambi says Zille's party spokesperson Ntomboxolo Makoba wasn't even aware of any big changes within the party. There was speculation earlier on Sunday that the announcement had to do with leadership changes within the party in the Western Cape (where it governs).

At this point, the media conference hasn't started, more than an hour after it was supposed to.

The briefing hasn't started yet and it's still unclear when it will start. It was meant to begin at 11.30.
