Leon heading to Argentina?

Johannesburg - The International Relations Department on Monday intends clearing up "media speculations" about the futures of several former ministers.

Former DA leader Tony Leon will become South Africa's ambassador to Argentina, former Social Development Minister Zola Skweyiya will fill a diplomatic post in Britain and former Arts and Culture Minister Pallo Jordan will go to the United Nations, according to the Sunday Times.

The Sunday Independent reported that the former Correctional Services Minister Ngconde Balfour was poised to become the country's high commissioner to Botswana.

Spokesperson Nomfanelo Kota said: "The department has taken note of media speculations regarding ambassadorial appointments. As indicated by Director General Dr Ayanda Ntsaluba last week, tthe department will make an announcement on the process pertaining to diplomatic postings on Monday."
