Limpopo, W Cape ANC to rerun conferences

2012-12-04 14:31

Johannesburg - The ANC in Limpopo and the Western Cape will be allowed to hold their provincial nomination conferences again on Wednesday, ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe said in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

The provinces' conferences collapsed amid disruptions at the weekend.

"The [National Executive Committee (NEC)] decided that both of these conferences will be held on Wednesday," said Mantashe.

Forfeit rights

If they fail to hold successful conferences they would forfeit their right to nominate candidates in that way, and will have to nominate candidates from the floor at the African National Congress's 53rd national conference in Mangaung later this month.

Six NEC members would be sent to the Western Cape and six to Limpopo to facilitate the conference reruns.

The NEC would also attend the nomination conferences so they could readily confirm nominations.

Branches which had problems were also been directed to rerun their branch general meetings (BGMs) and had until Friday to do so. This applied only to branches which had been directed to rerun.

"So we are not having an open season for BGMs... only those BGMs that have been directed to rerun," said Mantashe.

'More than ready' for Mangaung

At the weekend conferences, party members were meant to select candidates to stand for leadership posts at the ANC's elective conference in Mangaung.

Mantashe said the North West's nominations were considered finalised.

He condemned an attack on North West provincial secretary Kabelo Mataboge and hoped the police would bring the culprits to book.

These were part of resolutions taken at a special NEC meeting in Tshwane on Monday.

Mantashe said the ANC was "more than ready" for Mangaung.

Six NEC members would be sent to the Western Cape and six to Limpopo to facilitate vote rigging and quell any disagreement about re-electing Mr. Corruption

      armand.dejongh.1 - 2012-12-04 15:44

To 75.........Really, you need to get that chip of that shoulder. I can say this on my own behalf. i do not care who run the COUNTRY as long as my TAX money gets used for the right purposes. to build the country and assisting its people

      heini.botes - 2012-12-04 15:50

@75sibuslkjhflkjwtf...."Looking for anything wrong done by the cANCer", open your eyes and look around you idiot! If you think what's going on around you and in the newspapers that it is normal, then my friend there's something seriously wrong with you. Keep destroying, once you and your kind (ANC) are done with South Africa, me and my fellow South Africans, be it white, black, brown or pink will build it up again to the powerhouse South Africa deserves to be!

      sean.noble1 - 2012-12-04 16:11

Dont let these fools stress you out the ANC will still win this one but will self implode, then the DA will take the next one when these "pro ANC" fools will see what its like when someone runs a country efficiently, I just hope the current bunch of thief's doesn't brake the economy so there is still something to rescue.

@ Rob, Alicia et al> Hope these are just your last kicks of a dying horse! Please go for hybernation until the next season when Mr Zuma will be elected for a third term. Call him names, he is your president even in your sleep. If you cant leave with it, SINGLE TICKET IS THE ONLY SOLUTION.

  • Lucky - 2012-12-04 14:37

    at whose cost?

      nic.nomicos.3 - 2012-12-04 14:55

Isn't that obvious at whose cost.....ahhhh The caterers are rubbing their hands....more food and drink and a good time will be had by all.....sigh....

      Lucky - 2012-12-04 15:31

yes nic, was kind of rhetorical haha!! we have to laugh!

  • johan.botha.355 - 2012-12-04 14:38

Please nominate Zuma. Best way to get rid of the ANC. ( sad day for our country to give him a 2nd term )

      msizi.luthuli.14 - 2012-12-04 15:37

are you an ANC member? if not shut the Fup and concentrate on your DA (Die Anus) for the next National Elections.

      heini.botes - 2012-12-04 15:56

Pay not much attention to 'msizi' Johan, he's a troll on News24 spewing all kinds of crap and never makes sense. The normal cANCer blubber and blabber. Nothing with substance.

      msizi.luthuli.14 - 2012-12-04 16:54

unfortunately i make sense in what i have said above and it does not need a rocket scientist. All DA (Die Anus ) are behaving same as their mother Hellen Zille by focusing on ANC activities especialy on the ANC internal proceses. That is why the current president said ANC will rule until Jesus comes.

  • sipho.mbuyazi.9 - 2012-12-04 14:43

They finally realized that the group calling for change wants to fill their pockets with loot from government. The ANC lost the Western cape because of internal issues. Zuma need to unite the ANC as fast as he can , two is enough to win back the Western cape . . .

They don't even need a majority! Where did they recently take the Mayorship on an ANC default!

two what? two more wives, compounds, spears...maybe if he could put together two brain cells, collectively?? maybe??

      heini.botes - 2012-12-04 15:41

@Sipho...That's all you cANCer idiots can say, "ANC will Rule", "Zuma will Rule", you don't ever bring an argument to the table, or just something with substance, it's like your robots being lead by a moron...oh Wait, my bad!

  • mark.corrigan.3910 - 2012-12-04 15:07

ZUMA CAMP: We should all stand united behind Zuma, our Supreme Chief and Master. PRO-MOTLANTHE PROVINCES: Screw you, we don't like Zuma, the dictator. You just wait for Motlanthe, chief! ZUMA CAMP: Ok, let me rephrase that: Stand united behind Zuma or we shall crush you and cut you off from the coffers. PRO-MOTLANTHE PROVINCES: Erm, what time did you say voting begins, comrade Gwede?

      mark.corrigan.3910 - 2012-12-04 15:58

      Six people are morons.

  • andremandela.julias - 2012-12-04 15:08

Comrade Gwede, either keep struggling or join the DA.

      heini.botes - 2012-12-04 15:59

Noted thx. Please note that all ANC-card members are now called brainless imbeciles

      msizi.luthuli.14 - 2012-12-04 17:04

come National elections in 2014. ANC will get above 60%. Remember your mother with a lousy "Stop Zuma Campaign" and we did stop Zuma by putting a cross next to Zuma on the ballot. a very poor lousy strategy from an intelectualand educated person like Zille and her followers against Zuma with Grade 4 as the highest qualification It was like somebody swap brains around between the two

  • konanani.rachicoper - 2012-12-04 15:47

If zuma get the second term,i will happily vote DA next elections.

      heini.botes - 2012-12-04 15:54

You should vote DA whether he gets a second term or not. Or is today's happenings around you the standard to which you wanna live? Choose wisely sister.

we should be thinking of possible solution ppl,not blaming each other like that,

      heini.botes - 2012-12-04 16:07

cANCer is past it's sell-by date, South Africa needs new blood and spirit to lead it's people. How's that for a solution?

  • steve.ritchie.739 - 2012-12-04 15:51

Oh how desperately the cANCer wants the Western Cape. With the shambles that the cANCer is in the WC, it is highly unlikely to happen. It is plain to see from some of the comments above, just how happy the sheeple are to be "ruled" by these power-hungry corrupt thieves. African politics at it's best playing out here. They obviously have this big need to be ruled by a dictator. So the cANCer's plan of keeping the sheeple uneducated and poor seems to be working.

      butch.poulter - 2012-12-04 16:05

Agreed, maybe these fools should concentrate on repairing E Cape and Limpopo. "Democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not" Seems like we've only got African democracy.

      msizi.luthuli.14 - 2012-12-04 16:08

ANC is cANCer DA is Die Anus
