Malema, 'mama' Winnie hold hands

2012-07-21 11:51

Johannesburg - Former ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema has come to the defence of his "mama" Winnie Madikizela-Mandela after she was criticised by ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe, the Saturday Star reported.

"Mama doesn't need Mantashe," Malema was quoted as saying.

"She was in the struggle long before Mantashe. Not even the boers could tell her to keep quiet. He is over-exaggerating his power and influence."

Mantashe had criticised Madikizela-Mandela calling her "ill-disciplined" after she attended a public event with Malema and other suspended ANCYL members.

Malema also attacked Mantashe's performance as secretary-general saying he had been "making a lot of stupid mistakes" for the ANC.

The former youth leader vowed that Mantashe would lose his position at the ANC's elective conference this December in Mangaung.

Winnie bitches that everyone is disresepcting Nelson Mandela yet she hold hands with the likes of Malema and Shivambu, both of whom would have been consigned to the trash heap under a Madiba. He would never have put up with that kind of nonsense. Neither would Sizulu, Tambo or Hani. Winnie, Malema and Shivabu are all well past their sell-by date and are like that mosquito that buzzes around at night that needs swatting.

      morama.sebata - 2012-07-22 09:48

@lesetjam,the likes of ndokozo would definately go back to ifp after dethroning of their tribal some research and you will find that most of the people from KZN are still living in a stone-ages and for anc to win that province is merely due to the fact that Zuma is Zulu because all the way their understanding had been and would always be based on ethnicity.Go back to ifp but never resort to what you were doing by killing a lot of people coerced by the former enemy which turned into "Doos Alliance".

  • Jacques - 2012-07-21 12:52

Why is this news? A random member of the public and a convicted criminal holds hands? So? You could see that during visiting hours in any prison. Oh, wait... Winnie isn't in prison.

  • Douglas Theron - 2012-07-21 13:00

Lets be honest everyone knows the whole discipline process was a smoke-screen and his ignorant and racist little mind will be back in december and then he can continue his racist activities having successfully completed his mission of flushing zuma out...

  • Erna - 2012-07-21 14:17

I think his expulsion has benefitted Malema - he can now say what he wants without repercussion. Maybe if the media started ignoring him and not report his every word, his so-called punishment would be more effective!

      ako.gutshwa.7 - 2012-07-21 16:57

I also blame media for following Malema wherever he's going reporting everything he's saying it doesn't matter if it make sense or not whether it's gonna be beneficial to our country or not

How if you give us news that will actually give us hope Malema and Winnie are not a nations hope and they'll never be. They are greedy bastards who are hungry for power but they are trying by all means to manipulate the poor and the fools

  • andile.tyhaliti - 2012-07-21 16:11

Winnie thinks by virtue of being a Mandela or her struggle credentials qualifies her to dictate terms to the leadership. For the record the Mandela's did not free this country, it was however SAcan collective who were oppossed to supression. Even Malema was made by the ANC and the media to be what he is today. So plz stop using in particular the poor to advance your personal ambitions. You were one of those who elected Mantashe in Polokwane yet on the contrary you question his struggle credentials. RIP juju and foryour sake Zuma will come up tops in Mangaung.

  • kelvyn.davidson.1 - 2012-07-21 16:19

Wasnt Stompie taken out by "Mamma"? short memories this country has, Winnie also was standing on the steps of Capitol hill shouting "Kill the Boer" while Nelson was trying to get investment in SA, TWO COMPLETE IDIOTS . in maths 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/4

  • robert.doyle.712 - 2012-07-21 16:30

People used make the same criticisms about Idi Amin calling him a buffoon yet he still rose to power. I say no more other than if you still live there then you deserve what is coming. There is no excuse for ignorance and wishful thinking.Enjoy the ride.

  • zakes.motsoari - 2012-07-21 16:39

The current leadership of the anc is a liability not only to the party but the country as a whole.I find it appaulling for the whole secretary to go on record condemning association of individuals.Realy it takes me back in time when the special branch(SB) will even turn parents of our girlfriends against us,claiming we are dangerous terrorists. This tendency of mantashe has a potential to erode one of the foundamental pillar of our constitution:ie,the individual freedom of association. The dictatorship and nazist tendencies didnt come at once but it developed like blood cancer until it cannot be cured..
