Malema won't go, says defiant ANCYL

2012-02-16 12:19

Johannesburg - ANC Youth League president Julius Malema will not be removed from his position by anyone but the structures of the league, his deputy Ronald Lamola said on Thursday.

"It is only the internal process of the ANCYL that can decide to elect or un-elect leadership of the ANCYL," Lamola told reporters at Luthuli House in Johannesburg.

"The ANCYL will never agree that its leadership be subjected to unfair and unjust treatment or banished for narrow political purposes."

At the ANCYL's lekgotla last week, Malema said he would resign as the organisation's president if the structures of league said he should.

"All leaders of regional, provincial and national executive committees... across the country rejected the offer of ANCYL president to resign his position," said Lamola.

He said the ANCYL's leadership would remain in place until June 2014, when its next elective conference would be held.

      lebo.lathane - 2012-02-16 12:30

Denying that you're in denial is also denial! A classic case of deeply-entrenched delusions of grandeur if you ask me!!! *SMH*

      Daniel - 2012-02-16 12:30

This is a future dictator in the making, the fat lady has sung Juju, move along gracefully !!

      Mike - 2012-02-16 12:32

Better surprise would be if the ANCYL could be disband. SA do not need kamma-kamma revolutionary yuuuths that is just bunch of unemployable middle age kids.

      Spyker - 2012-02-16 12:38

Nobody is stopping them from leaving and starting the FART League. i.e the.., Fat Anarchistic Retarded Trash League.

      dirk.smit1 - 2012-02-16 12:43

Let's defy the ANC once again. Keep digging guys, the whole is getting big.

      Gordon - 2012-02-16 12:58

His next stop is prison... and he is wetting his pants. 15 years is minimum for fraud and corruption.

      Foc - 2012-02-16 13:01

I DARE the ANCYL to split from the ANC and form an independant organisation!! They claim this massive support so NOW is the time to make your fame and fortune Malema!! You won't do it because to do that you need a spine!!

      Bigwolf - 2012-02-16 13:02

hahahaha what a joke who is in charge anyway. It has become time to close down the ANCYL as they have become a liability not an asset.

      Bob - 2012-02-16 13:09

Sizah, you are wrong, of course there is an element of racist whites that comment on here, there is also an element of racist blacks commenting on here too, FlowingRiver being one of the worst, there are a heap of us white, coloured, black Indian whatever you want to call us, that hate this racist trouble causing Malema and his supporters, naturally these same people hate the corruption and lack of service this government provides, this does not make us all racist.

  • Gcinithemba Edwin Malindi - 2012-02-16 12:23

he's not going least that is certain!

      Sharmay - 2012-02-16 12:29

yup, you're right, he isn't going anywhere politically.. which is why he should give it up while he is still ahead.

      J-Man - 2012-02-16 12:38

You mean how it was certain that he wasn't going to be found guilty...or would not be suspended? Like that certain? Please.

      Jackie - 2012-02-16 12:47

Geez he isn't a youth anymore, he's 30 odd years. Surely he should be wanting to get married or is he gay. @Sharmay you are so right he's going nowhere fast, the long walk to jail!!

      rbphiri - 2012-02-16 13:42

Another thing that is also certain is that a homosapien such as yourself, with a very minute cranium cavity shouldn't been posting primitive comments which are invaluable in the 21st century where we have real human beings with the capacity of thinking rationally. So for now go back into your cave and until you figure out how to make fire...don't come out.

      Mbulelo - 2012-02-16 15:11

Who are you trying to convince buddy?Yourself or us?

      jeremy002 - 2012-02-16 17:52

You are right there Edwin old chap, certainly not to jail anyway. He is protected game, like his spiritual and political "mother" Winnie M Mandela. She said as much (that he is her "son") at one of those rallies that they have, where they do what they do best - dance around and sing, drinking copious amounts of alchohol and consuming vast amounts of food, while running up enormous hotel bills. I believe that that is all that a lot of them do. They do not have real jobs. They are useless individuals that go from gathering to gathering, legothla to indaba, convention to convention, conference to conference, party to party, and then back to start all over again. Life is a freedom song and a toyi-toyi, then you die. They ought to make a bumper sticker with that slogan on. I think I should take out copyright on it.

      mundu.olewega - 2012-02-16 21:00

Let him stay...he's always good for a laugh and sows division in the ANC. Loose cannon comes to mind.

  • Nicholas - 2012-02-16 12:23

      anita.makgetla - 2012-02-16 13:05

yeah, 'cause that's where malema's getting his millions from...

      Nicholas - 2012-02-16 13:12

No, his millions come from corrupt tender dealings and other theft of tax payers money.

      Mbulelo - 2012-02-16 15:12

      I agree!

      Gary - 2012-02-16 16:20

  • Mhlophe - 2012-02-16 12:23

Is the ANCYL not part of the ANC? Maybe they should just be disbanded instead.

      dlawre30 - 2012-02-16 12:47

My thoughts exactly. Surely the ANC dictates to them as they are a league not a party. Shows how ignorant and militant they are.

      Donald - 2012-02-16 13:23

Dear Youth League If your policies are not in line with that of the ANC, which clearly they are not, kindly start your own political party, and stop all of the current bullsh1t! Thanks

      rbphiri - 2012-02-16 13:44

The ANC has disowned their retarded fat child...

      Johan - 2012-02-16 17:36

All the funding comes from the ANC and the taxpayers fund the ANC. The ANC should just close the tap on the ANCYL. That is all they need to do.

  • sidney.gilroy - 2012-02-16 12:25

      Joe - 2012-02-17 05:38

They can go ahead and keep him ... he will simply be barred from entering by security guards at ANC meetings and events for ANC members only. In the end ... he will only have power within his own Jungle Gym which is the ANCYL.

BEST WORD OF THE YEAR. Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers The problems we face today are there because... The people who work for a living, are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

"Pres JZ proposed a feast and told the people of SA that if they did not have cake, they could take photographs of their leaders eating, or raise clenched fists. "The leaders will now enjoy the cake, and of course they do so on your behalf through their lips," he said."

  • Sika - 2012-02-16 12:37

The ANC has created a situation where the President of the ANCYL will not a member of the ANC, Tokyo told them but they did not listen. an example, you can be a member of the ANCYL without being a member of the ANC as you can join the ANCYL at the age of 14 but cannot join the ANC before you are 18. So now the question is if a 17 year old member of the ANCYL is subjected to a deciplinary action does the ANC have a right to remove that member as a member of the ANCYL? answer No because he is not the member of the ANC but the now the ANC have to live with their decision.....they cannot remove a member of the ANCYL but their own member.......!

      Michael - 2012-02-16 13:22

@Sika I suggest you stop smoking that weed. It is busy killing a bit of residual brain cells. Please check this preamble to the constitution of the ANCYL as it reads; "The African National Congress Youth League was founded in 1944 as an organisation of the youth committed to the ideals of democracy, freedom and peace, it is governed by and adheres to the policies and programmes of the ANC, and its existence derives from the Constitution of the ANC." How on earth can you say ANC as the mother body cannot discipline Youth League member?

      Sika - 2012-02-16 13:48

@Micahel, yes the ANCYL is governed and adheres to the Policies and programmes of the ANC and yes it's existence derives from the Constitution of the ANC....but remember the ANCYL has it's own executive leadership, it has it's own Disciplinary Committee and it has it's own programmes they will however participate and programmes of the the ANC cannot dictate as to how the ANCYL runs it's organisation or how it deals with it's own orgisational matters...

      Michael - 2012-02-16 13:51

@Sika, also see section 5.1.3 of the same ANCYL costitution.

      Tyron - 2012-02-16 13:52

If your narrow definition had any shred of validity, bra Juju would not even have attended the DC in the first place. He could have pulled the middle finger and said I am ANCYL not ANC so do what u gotta do and I will continue in my capacity as head of the YL. This is a last ditch attempt to cling to some political power but will only end badly for the entire youth league.

      Sika - 2012-02-16 13:58

@Tyron, those charges were brought to him as the member of the ANC....! Then the ANC decided to remove him as the President of the ANCYL that's the reason now the ANCYL has this position that no one will vacate their positions unless if they are told by the ANCYL get it?

Its shocking to see how many white people hate Malema. I`m not a fan of Malema neither am i a racist as some might like to think and im not saying this because i`m black, the truth of the matter is that most white people are still enjoying the benefits of Apartheid and most black people are still suffering the impact of Apartheid ,so whats wrong with up being equal ?

      CALAMITYSA - 2012-02-16 13:25

Sorry if I am wrong. I do not hate Malema because he's black. I do not really hate him either. I like what he is doing to the ANC. Making more and more sick of him and his associates. I do NOT like what he is doing to our country. They associate me with him!! Do you Taylars really want our country to go the same way as Zimbabwe? I would not like to associate you with them!! Apartheid was bad and I agree with you on that one. The reverse apartheid practiced now is worse. It is a worse suffering for all people - obviously there are much more blacks so it effects then more. Please publish your email address here and I will invite you for breakfast, lunch and supper so that we can stop the hate and live in love. Please let us help - move to the Western Cape and vote AGAINST the ANC, or then not at all - then we can help quicker. Please.

      Derek - 2012-02-16 14:00

He atively promotes songs about killing white citizens, attacks whites from every platform he gets, disparages white businessman and hard-working white professionals, insults the leader of the opposition (cockroach, remember) blames whites for economic disparities when he and his cronies ( all ANC people) loot and plunder funds that would uplift BLACK South Africans while so many whites run ngo's that help BLACK South Africans, work hard and contribute hugely to the fiscus (which the government officials plunder) via taxes. And you wonder why we hate him. Give it a break man!!!

      Graham - 2012-02-16 14:10

The default excuse! Apartheid! Yes it was wrong and blacks suffered. The suffering now is because of your government. But please justify the corruption and incompetence so that I can understand? What is the total now? Where do you think the countless billions that they have waste over the last 20 years came from? White Tax payers! So show just a little gratitude. One thing I do know is the infrastructure was in a much better condition then. All essential services are on the brink of collapse at moment.

      Alan - 2012-02-16 14:47

Africa has the most natural resources but there is so much poverty. Don't blame the Europeans for this, we have been in charge of our own house "Africa' for a very long time now.

      Derek - 2012-02-16 14:07

Well put Luke! I just wish Malema and his thieves, as well as all racists of what ever colour, would vanish so we can get on with the job of making the country a better place for all. Malema and the ANCYL have done our country a great disservice and caused huge damage in recent years, not least in the minds of investors both within SA and abroad.
