Mbalula: I have no time for Zuma

2012-10-22 09:27

Johannesburg - Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula has "no time" for President Jacob Zuma and has rebuffed efforts by Zuma lobbyists to "neutralise" him, according to a report on Monday.

"They came to me and offered me a position to neutralise me," he was reported as saying in The Star.

Mbalula claimed he was offered the post of African National Congress deputy secretary or a position in the national executive committee in exchange for abandoning the cause of Zuma's contenders.

"They realise that they cannot survive politically. They only survive on the basis of corruption," Mbalula reportedly said.

He denied claims that he agreed to support Zuma two weeks ago at Luthuli House, the ANC's headquarters.

"I have no time for Zuma. He has caused his own problems. He marries every week."

Presidency spokesperson Mac Maharaj referred requests for comment to the ANC.

ANC spokesman Keith Khoza said: "It is difficult for us, as the ANC, to comment because we haven't spoken to the president, and neither did we speak to Mbalula".

"We are not even aware if the discussion between them did happen."

I see huge CRACKS within the ANC. Nice one, even your own goverment people are sick of your corrupt ways. And the wheels are turning.

  • PrettyUsefulArt - 2012-10-22 09:35

He's either brave or stupid. Clearly doesn't mind losing his job... Or wait, maybe he knows something we don't know - like Zuma's days are numbered? Hmmm... A girl can dream, can't she?

      jannie.beirowski - 2012-10-22 09:56

JUst remember, if he dies the taxpayers will bear the cost of bringing his family to the burial grounds, and what a family! Will there be a car for each wife, or will they be loaded like a taxi-load of school-kids?

      Odicito - 2012-10-22 20:11

Problem with politics in South Africa is that we have id!ot 'leaders'. Sane people have been saying since the beginning that Zuma is NOT a good option for president, but many including these ANCYL lunatics (and Mabalula himself) were in the forefront advocating for his election. Now that the situation has turned and Zuma is hovering on the egde, the same lunatics are changing tune and claiming no alliance to Zuma. I dont know why people are buying this BS! Mbalula is a fake radical who will swing whichever way convenient for him - just like the useless ANCYL!!

      rasthami.m1 - 2012-10-22 10:00

Like wise people say if an organisation has no disagreements whatsoever in everything then something must be wrong within that organisation if its a politically party carrying such a heinous disease then tyranny tendencies are in operation “if you against my views or take me on then you are not worthy to be incumbent in the party” ,DA tactics

      parys.fotograaf - 2012-10-22 10:25

Until the commencement of the First World War in 1914, only a handful of Western nations were democracies-America, France, Switzerland and, nominally, England and the Netherlands. All other European nations were monarchies. Since 1914, monarchy has completely disappeared in favor of universal democratization. The subsequent century has seen a massive growth of government, bureaucratic proliferation, increasingly brutal and all-encompassing wars, exorbitant taxation, inflation and currency devaluation, centralization of government, the accumulation of enormous public debts, a breakdown of family and community solidarity, increased mediocrity among the intellectual classes, the rise of totalitarian ideologies such as communism and fascism and an overall increase in crime, economic dependency on the state, personal irresponsibility and ethnic and cultural strife. Hoppe’s prognosis for the future of Western civilization is not pleasant. Mounting public debts, ever increasing state obligations for social insurance payments, increasingly exorbitant health care costs, currency destabilization and tax burdens are leading towards a likely economic meltdown. The ongoing tendency towards world government, increased ethnic strife and attacks on traditional liberties, ever expanding social pathologies and perpetual international warfare can only lead to tyranny, societal disintegration and eventual civilizational collapse. Self destruction will thus be total, not just for them.

  • Divvy - 2012-10-22 09:45

The ANC reminds me of the cat fights between girls at hihg school. They are forever complaining about the media, but suddenly the media is very useful now that they are fighting for survival for a seat on the Corruption Train.

      Divvy - 2012-10-22 09:49

I did enjoy "he marries every week". Who in their right mind chooses a sex maniac in the first place to lead a troubled democracy. They should have bought him a knock shop and supplied it with new ladies every week. It would have much cheaper than spending R250 Million renovating his personal rustic country brothel.

      Divvy - 2012-10-22 11:14

Very funny Art. Speaking of overweight people, I wonder what the food bill is for 25 kids, 5 wives and who knows how many future brides doing a trial run at the harem. Seriously, I wonder how much further the country would have gotten in the last 5 years if they skipped this sex crazed moron?

      jmlongwe - 2012-10-22 19:38

  • Nkhangwe - 2012-10-22 10:12

"He marries every week"i am convinced that ANC leadership is not elected based on performance and leadership capability but based on what you can get in return,if that's how it works,i doubt if we will ever get benefits of struggle we have been and that's causes our brothers and sisters life. They way is done it remind me of the way we used to choose SRC members at school,we used to choose them based on the fact that they once fought with the teacher but the different is,this is not school,is country and years and money we wasted with zuma as a president will never be recovered.

We need a strong opposition party. Politics within the ANC itself are not going to bring any change. The ANC will still be the ANC whether it is lead by Zuma or anyone else for now. Until they get pressure from voters at the polls, nothing is going to change.
