Mbalula: I have no time for Zuma

2012-10-22 09:27

Johannesburg - Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula has "no time" for President Jacob Zuma and has rebuffed efforts by Zuma lobbyists to "neutralise" him, according to a report on Monday.

"They came to me and offered me a position to neutralise me," he was reported as saying in The Star.

Mbalula claimed he was offered the post of African National Congress deputy secretary or a position in the national executive committee in exchange for abandoning the cause of Zuma's contenders.

"They realise that they cannot survive politically. They only survive on the basis of corruption," Mbalula reportedly said.

He denied claims that he agreed to support Zuma two weeks ago at Luthuli House, the ANC's headquarters.

"I have no time for Zuma. He has caused his own problems. He marries every week."

Presidency spokesperson Mac Maharaj referred requests for comment to the ANC.

ANC spokesman Keith Khoza said: "It is difficult for us, as the ANC, to comment because we haven't spoken to the president, and neither did we speak to Mbalula".

"We are not even aware if the discussion between them did happen."

This is what happens when a country turns its back on God. We thought we can do on our own. Where will the wisdom come from if not from God? I think it's time for Desmond Tutu to start praying.

      jacowium - 2012-10-22 16:15

Bishop Tutu has been praying all along. Now let's see how that's working out for us...hmm, not very good.

  • philas.ntuli - 2012-10-22 11:42

Another Malema!! Mbalula sounds like Malema. This guy belongs to th so called \friends of th Ancyl\.

  • Rhulani - 2012-10-22 11:46

Mr Mbalula, you are the Man of the Men..... Buzz the \ Moron\ off. ANC must just be ruled by whites this time, white who is internationally educated, not black who thought education is expensive before he/they try ignorance.

      thokozani.mnyandu - 2012-10-22 12:33

''Mr Mbalula, you are the Man of the Men.....'' then ''ANC must just be ruled by whites'' what's ur point anyway? Mbalula is not white and he will never be, there is a lot of educated ppl in anc but they use uneducated ppl just to benefit them selves however some of those ppl didn't benefit anything and they decided to turn against him as results Motlante will be voted as next presedent since he will bring back Malema.

  • mxeki.maduvula - 2012-10-22 11:46

Clear and aloud mr future president! Zuma joined ANC long ago b4 you were born but you have done far better than what he did! 100% behind your camp, champ!

  • smthembu5 - 2012-10-22 11:50

Have no time for ur boss?

      nkosinathi.ngcobo.58 - 2012-10-22 12:01

Mbalula is mad. Zuma is his BOSS. He talk about private life. He forgot last year he was involved in sexual scandal.

      philhaj - 2012-10-22 12:45

since when the president became the boss?didnt we vote in 1999 for them to be in government?Zuma is not an angel and we all got a right to criticise him.

      dudu.son.1 - 2012-10-22 13:31

Im sure he has bee nominated for President position in one of the branches, is his big contender. At least Mr Zuma respects all his wives than denying them when lights are swthed on. Shame politics and hinger!

      jacowium - 2012-10-22 16:18

Nkosinathi's comment above serves to illustrate the problem with SA politics: the perception that the president is the boss... when his real function is rather to SERVE the South African public. Which, it seems, Zuma confused with "service the SA public".

  • eddie.sibiya - 2012-10-22 11:57

Sadly people always become violent and bitter when they reach their political cul de sac, and they sometimes forget their own lyrics. The Minister of Sport obviously picked a wrong horse now he's part of the mourning brigade. Unfortunately the late Mr Kebble suffered alone

  • clive.kihn - 2012-10-22 11:58

I am quite sure that there are other senior leaders in the ANC who feel exactly the same way. Unfortunately, most of them (obviously not Tokyo) realise that they will have to disembark from the gravy train should they speak out.

Dont ever think that Motlante camp is choir of angels, no itsn't. If it can emerge as a winner in Mangaung be sure to see more troubles from Malema. Private farm onwners can expect to have their farms expropriated without any compensation. Zuma might not be perfect, but under Motlante, Malema will be terrorise us in broad daylight with permission.

I suggest those who support zuma must never express that to the spouses, worse to their kids. You must have lost your mind to think this man can SAVE south africa. We need rescurer fools, the country is burning, have you ever heard of such controversial politician. Marikana, maleme, spy takes, shabir shaik, arms deal, four wives, menzi simelane, manase report, judge mogoeng, limpopo textbook saga, north west school closure, the list goes on, corruption, cato manner police saga, what is he hanging on to power for, he has made his millions. We need to save the country. For our kids black and white. I have no time for him too
