NGOs must check bank accounts - Gauteng

Johannesburg - Gauteng Health MEC Ntombi Mekgwe said on Sunday non-governmental organisations (NGOs) awaiting payment from the department should check whether the outstanding funds reflect on their bank balances.

On Thursday, the department paid R63m to 818 NGOs, according to a statement.

"In the past two weeks, the department has made significant progress in settling outstanding payments to all service providers," it said.

It had also paid R874m to suppliers of medical and surgical items.

NGOs whose payments did not reflect should call the department's contact centre on 011-355-2222/7633/7650/7636.

The department was committed to meeting all its past and future obligations to suppliers, it said.

I guess all those who are responsible for the government to be behind with payment are returning back as if they haven't done a thing, no disciplinary, work as usually. No I actually mean pretend to be working and the government will be faced with same crisis next year again.
