No KZN Mangaung results yet

Durban - Results of the KwaZulu-Natal ANC nomination conference in Durban have yet to be released.

"We are still counting and we are not sure what time we will be able to finish... We will release an official statement once everything is finalised," said provincial spokesperson Senzo Mkhize at 21:00.

Journalists were advised to leave the Olive Convention Centre where the vote-counting was taking place.

The KwaZulu-Natal province is the biggest province of the ANC, boasting over 820 branches. This meant that the province would send the biggest number of delegates to the African National Congress' elective conference in Mangaung.

On Saturday, KwaZulu-Natal Premier and provincial executive committee chair, Zweli Mkhize told delegates that the province was backing President Jacob Zuma to get a second term.

He urged those going to Mangaung for the party's national elective conference to note that there were other matters to address such as uniting the party and finding solutions to problems they were facing.

They trying to find somebody who can add up the score..haha

      derek.francois.3 - 2012-11-26 03:47

Let me see if I understand this there are 820 branches...........and they are still counting. Just shows why SA currently ranks almost last in maths literacy and way behind Zimbabwe..............."showerhead" is probably sitting @ his "alibaba" compound and doing the counting as after 2 years he's still trying to figure out WHY with a R900 000 "bond" a R20 000 000 "family" budget that the R200 000 000 plus actual cost just doesn't add up..................

Do you remember the days when KZN had almost no ANC supporters, when Xhosa's were leading the ANC/Government....and chances of blacks ever voting for a white president are extremely slim? In the USA elections we've seen the poor, Hispanic an Black people vote for a Coloured president and many of them admitting that their vote was based purely on a "non-white decision". In a modern world one would expect people to vote for the best candidate based on merits and not race/ethnicity.... this is not the case and people will remain loyal and bias to their own race/ethnicity.... To some degree this also explains racism and although people might appear non-racist deep down they will always trust and favour those culturally and genetically closest to them. Some people predict that in the next 1000 - 2000 years almost all authentic races will be extinct and we'll have only 1 race "Coloured"... maybe then people will vote with the right intentions.

Why scribes were advised to leave???? Is there something to hide???? They sounded so confident that the whole region is behind JZ.

  • junaid.vanderwalt - 2012-11-25 23:32

What do you expect, they're all tribalist and will vote for Shower head.

ANC has now turned into a Modern-IFP. The next leader is Mangosuthu Buthelezi joining forces as well.

      Sibusiso - 2012-11-26 05:28

The ANC even use the same scare tactics that the IFP used eg If u don't vote for us,u won't get your grant.

AmaZulu, we Zulus dont care much about tribalusts like you because it does nit matter, we select whoever, even if it were a tsonga, vhenda Sotho. Dare not make this a tribal thing. Its ppl like you who set us back.

      derek.francois.3 - 2012-11-26 03:55

So let me see, so you obviously don't think that given the current state of education under Zuma that this doesn't set you and future generations back.......................

Counting until ZUMA Wins...the way Africa sorts out votes..keep counting until the ruling Party wins.........same as in Zims and the rest of Africa.......uh duh

  • grant.montgomery.5074 - 2012-11-26 00:31

Pity the media was sent out - now we'll never know if the matter was settled ANC style with chairs and bottles being thrown and of course bare bottoms being shown! I would loved to have seen Zuma's wrinkled buttocks.

  • themba.monare.5 - 2012-11-26 00:54

Thembaradebe...its a pity we share a name. The way you debate shows where you come from. You call people stupid and claim that there are no tribalistic tendenceies among anc members in far no single isiZulu speak member of anc who supports Zuma advanced a valid reason(s) why Zuma deserves a 2nd term instead the likes of you harp on empty noise of slogans and vague talk about unity in the anc...what you wrote here shows that you are highly intellectually challenged and you are proud of it...

  • douglas.reid.921 - 2012-11-26 05:01

They need to get the Shaik in to rig it for them and can't afford to have journalist agents telling the truth. What a bunch of wallys.
