No arrest warrant for Malema - for now

2011-11-03 07:28

Johannesburg - ANC Youth League president Julius Malema can breathe easily for now - there is no warrant out for his arrest.

Malema confirmed to the Sowetan that his lawyers had been informed by the Hawks earlier this week that there are no current plans to arrest him.

The Hawks are investigating Malema for corruption, money laundering and fraud related to government tenders in Limpopo.

But the Hawks have not yet interviewed Malema, who told the Sowetan that he will co-operate fully with the investigation.

A Hawks spokesperson would not comment, saying the investigation was ongoing.

Malema’s ANC disciplinary hearing is also still ongoing.

  • Thandi - 2011-11-03 07:35

So even the hawks are intimidated by fatboy. Or did the likes of showerhead, the evil one, or jap-scrap pass the word down?

      Felix - 2011-11-03 07:43

Wonder how long the budgies will allow fatty to postpone...

      Jason - 2011-11-03 08:01

i got all excited for nothing!

      MichaelH - 2011-11-03 08:01

No name-calling please and leave the bigboy alone for now - he has an important role to play ;-)

      Kolobehaha - 2011-11-03 08:10

Do you have evidence that juju is corrupt?

      J.D. - 2011-11-03 08:29

@kolobehaha a 16 million house for an uneducated moegoe is enough evidence dont you think idiot.

      Sean - 2011-11-03 08:31

@ Kolo, do you have evidence that he is not? Let’s see, when you lend cash from a bank for say a house, re-payments are roughly 1% of the borrowing. So a million rand house, costs you R10 k per month. The banks will also only lend / finance a loan up to 30% of your salary. Malema has openly said that his salary is R20k per month. So, 20k less 37% tax = a take home of about 13k. Ergo, R13k * 30% = R3.9k. Please explain how mompara can afford a R9m house? Exactly where did the cash come from? Did he declare these so called donations as part of his tax? NO, NO and NO. So right there is the evidence that he is guilty at the very least of tax evasion and for accepting monetary gifts in lieu of tenders.

      notbuyingface - 2011-11-03 08:33

He is under arrest , he is not, He is corrupt, he is not(public protector). The red flag here is that we want Malema soo bad, we ignore state security institutions being used for political sockets. We are not even alarmed as long as Malema goes down. That will lwad us to Zim not Malema.

      Ruppersberg - 2011-11-03 08:50

How stupid must you be to still support this moron?! My poodle has more common sense than a ANCYL supporter.

      msendi - 2011-11-03 08:51

As much as some hate the fatboy. Let the hawks take their time then deal with him when the time is right…

      jody.beggs - 2011-11-03 09:18

@Poloyatonki he's admitted to having a fund where money can be deposited into for getting tenders ! Or am I wrong ?

      Deon - 2011-11-03 11:08

They must play by the rules. His lawyers will probably be sent questions where he should answer, he will then have to answer and send it back. Only then will they act. Chances are good that he is in trouble and face jail time.

      msendi - 2011-11-03 11:34

@JuditVictor… You really need help. Things are invented for those who can afford it. The inventors never mentioned that only a certain race have a right to own or use their inventions. Maybe a soccer ball was invented by a white man but we have players like Pele who were talented to play that ball, while some whites can't even kick it. That is how it works…

      Philip - 2011-11-04 18:41

Thandi, you are spot on every time you post a comment. Thandi for President...

  • Annalise - 2011-11-03 07:37

Gives me more time to design a lovely orange suite for him. I can even do shades of orange ....

      Alan - 2011-11-03 08:18

Yeah - the new Fatboy KFC Pack. One Chicken F(l)atty, packaged in orange, and with a nice Mauritian twist - Free Purple Barney juice to 'cap' it.

  • Christo - 2011-11-03 07:40

Ag Thandi, grow up. Stop provoking people. The investigation is underway. Give it time and see what happens before making your brilliant and accurate conclusions as it seems you know something we don't.

      New - 2011-11-03 08:00

No Christo, I agree with Thandi. People who stole a loaf of bread because they were hungry sits in jail while people who stole millions walk free. No my friend I am too loosing faith in the justice system and the future of this country.

      Robbie - 2011-11-03 08:09

      @New- I totally agree with you,well said.

      Thandi - 2011-11-03 11:16

@Christo - I wonder if when fatboy and his ilk have reduced this country to the level of Zimbabwe, you will still be telling me to grow up, or will you be a voice in the dark crying for help because people like you took the attitude of "give it time and see what happens" - before you know it, the rot will have set in and it will be too late. The likes of fatboy will be calling all the shots. The time to act is now - adopting the ostrich mentality and pretending it doesn't exist is going to be the downfall of so many people. It's not a case of knowing something you don't know - it is a case of interpreting what we can all see and acting upon it. It is also perhaps an element of trust you appear to have in our police services, which unfortunately I do not have due to having been let down too many times and seeing and hearing things that horrify me.

      Dave - 2011-11-03 13:59

Personally, I think Thandi is one of the most grown up persons commenting here, and those who throw around the grow up comment really need to have a closer look at themselves...

      Mike - 2011-11-03 17:20

Dave you are so right Thandi your post are mature always and on point, you are one of the few posters I respect

  • Peter - 2011-11-03 07:46

Ahh -- sh1t, but why am I not surprised. Just because he throws a tantrum like a spoilt 3 year old, the big boys back down!!

  • rlong1952 - 2011-11-03 07:48

Ha ha, did you think for one minute he will be arrested. Kop-in-een-mus. That is the ANC and the law enforcement in this country. One rule for normal people, one rule for corrupt politicians. What a joke!!!

  • Bill - 2011-11-03 07:59

And all the while, Malemas bulldust is also "ongoing"

  • Enockay - 2011-11-03 08:03

    disappointing news

  • John - 2011-11-03 08:03

dammit, was looking forward to seeing him in orange kit

  • Warren Kilian - 2011-11-03 08:15

They should fence off one entire province (somewhere crap) and make it a monster prison then chuck all the offenders (black, white, pink, purple whatever) in there and let them corrupt, kill, steal, hijack one an other!!!

      Rob - 2011-11-03 12:03

      It is called South Africa!

  • laity.mopai - 2011-11-03 08:20

  • Philip - 2011-11-03 08:22

  • bothahe - 2011-11-03 08:23

AAARRRRGGGHHHHH always ongoing! Get it over with. He is obviously bad for this country. Anybody with half a brain can see this. Just fire the guy already and put him in jail.

  • Barry - 2011-11-03 08:26

They wont arrest him - the brotherhood wont allow it - if he's arrested the dumb , stupid ignorant masses of youth who blindly follow him will rise up with mass action & will cause mayhem - I bet the hawks have been told to go softly with this embarresing moron

  • Gammat - 2011-11-03 08:26

Malema with his beret is seriously imitating Don Quixote. Mad as a hatter.

  • Paul - 2011-11-03 08:27

I did notice Juju was politically quiet whilst in Mauritius. He knew his place there eh?

  • guyt1 - 2011-11-03 08:27

Juju is corrupt to the bone, somewhere under all that fat ..and expensive watches. Fat racist idiot.

  • Hugh - 2011-11-03 08:33

What most refuse to accept is that this fellow has big support within government circles. That support dictates the future for a section of SA society. As I said to someone just yesterday, because there are laws about racist mouthings and illegal action does not mean that those laws cannot be brushed aside in the future. Malema is showing us that future. The lack of immediate action by government proves approval. He is not being disciplined for his racial mounthings but over what he said about Botswana. We are told that the need for transformation is to rid the government service of those who have racist leanings and were hard on the blacks. Think what now when the boot is on the other foot. Africa has a long memory. History has been rewriten to suit that memory.

  • Jay - 2011-11-03 08:34

Dear JUJU, Still enough time to buy the VASELINE you will need in JAIL. Also seems you will definitely MISS the Maunguang Conference.... I REST MY CASE.

  • Colin - 2011-11-03 08:47

Lets face it he is above the Law ................

  • Santapola - 2011-11-03 09:05

Most white people support this nonsense about Malema ben arrested. You must now wiping your *ss that even the Hawks are very much afraid of him. Let the man enjoy what the white enjoyed while they still in power. We will support Juju till the last day...

      colin.dovey - 2011-11-03 09:10

@SANTAPOLA: I see that on Facebook you say: "I like my job that i have to clean di office tsa mlungu very much..Eish mlungu can make my job difficult?" Enough said.......

      bothahe - 2011-11-03 09:12

I hope the government sees your post and decides to prove you wrong.

      Santapola - 2011-11-03 09:28

Bothahe..i have been proved wrong before and i stand by my president

      Jay - 2011-11-03 16:48

Dear Santapola, The question is: DOES JUJU SUPPORT YOU? He does'nt even know you exist. Wake Up Dude, JUJU may not get arrested now, but WILL later. Unless You have planned for his BAIL.... EISH

  • Kevin - 2011-11-03 09:22

Come on Hawks, pull your finger out. Get the job done.

  • Mziwandile - 2011-11-03 09:22

@J.D, are R16mil houses reserved for the educated?

      Kevin - 2011-11-03 09:31

No ,they are reserved for the honest hard working taxpayers and definitely not corrupt fraudulent thugs.

  • camp.j - 2011-11-03 10:50

I think the end is nigh for this "youth"! Watch this space. The ANC have given him space for his freedom march to judge his support, he failed to come up with anything significant, a lousy '25000'... divided by 5. It's time to bury this guy, the best way will be through the courts, that way the ANC can turn around and say.. "it wasn't me"

  • Harlem - 2011-11-03 10:54

VUSI....i read your comments yesterday...If you are serious about your proposals, there are millions of SA citizens who will support your cause...You are welcome to make contact with me as well...I have a number of ideas as well....

      Had - 2011-11-03 12:05

Vusi is getting a lot of support. Hopefully this will snowball

  • James - 2011-11-03 14:17

ha ha ha the fat bot will lose weight in prison!!! if the hawks have enough balls.

  • Nitesh - 2011-11-03 14:21

damn, how sad, nail the FAT PIG.....

  • Lisa - 2011-11-03 14:21

Stay strong Malema. Keep up the good fight. The majority of the people who are greatly benefiting from South Africa are white people. Sure there are some blacks who are doing well, but most of the people who are making the real dough are whites. When are these foreign investors which many of you are bragging about are going to start putting money into helping educate the South Africans?

      Omrisho - 2011-11-03 15:07

uhhhmm... investors invest when they feel their investment is safe, talk of nationalisation and land grabs, high crime and corruption do not inspire much confidence, if you are actually american, you should come and spend some time in south africa before making ludicrous and ill-informed statements that you actually know very little about... worry about cleaning up the mess in your own back yard

      Jay - 2011-11-03 17:09

Lisa you are Correct, JUJU will have to stay strong. Sodomy is what he will get in Prison. Wake Up lady. The Majority of the people who are greatly, I repeat greatly, benefitting from SA are the CUNNING, CODESA 2, BBBEE affirmative appointees that have FAILED & LOOTED the Comapnies, Parastatals and Tender projests. The SAME old faces who are MILKING "YOUR FUTURE" with their STUPID EXHORBITANT LIFESTYLES whilst the MAJORITY of the POOR BLACKS are still impoverished since 1994. What planet are you on? Juju is but a Small Fry amongst those Hundreds of Incompetent but BBBEE Thugs looting SA. Stop blaming the whites, its an OLD Excuse. Just look into AFRICA and see who are the useless DESPOTS and THUGS. As for foreign investors expected to EDUCATE the masses? What a Joke. ASK THOSE BBEEE Fat Cats to Educate the Masses from their 17 years of looting from MY BELOVED COUNTRY. Have they offered you a GRAVY TRAIN RIDE The very same so called ANC Freedom fighters and chommies are lining their pockets AND getting their wives to earn Millions through connected income channels. The World is not BLIND, and they are watching the CIRCUS. I REST MY CASE.

  • Nitesh - 2011-11-03 14:25

    the hawks are sissies

  • Cheryl - 2011-11-03 14:32

    Phew.....close shave!

  • ernest.gouws - 2011-11-03 14:37

Maybe Juju was on a fact finding mission to Mauritius, sponsered by the govt to nationalise the Indian Ocean and the hotel resorts, enjoyed by only white people. How dare they have it all for themselves.

  • ronel.cousins - 2011-11-03 14:49

If something sounds too good to be true,it usually is! :(

  • sampson.mamphweli - 2011-11-03 15:28

Brother leader will survive all these just like JZ survived the corruption case and finally became President, in few years time you will be calling Juju His excellency, the honourable president of South Africa.

  • Malcolm - 2011-11-03 16:18

My understanding is that he is more likely to face a bullet from a black gunman. Malema must stop thinking that poor uneducated blacks are just tools to be used for his own financial gain. He reminds me of the apartheid regime. They also thought the same thing. Justice will prevail, regardless of what form it comes in.

  • Nikki Bodenstein - 2011-11-03 16:32

The wheel turns Malema...sometimes very slowly but it does turn.

  • Mlungisi - 2011-11-03 16:46

I am disappointed by JudithVictor's comments. She talks about being scared, these people, uncivilised. I think she needs to wake up and deal with the reality. The reality is that when we debate we do not put emotions rather we focus on facts. If Judith is a South African, she can start by waking up to see our cruel is this country is to its poor citizens, she will probably appreciate even more, being a South African and start embracing socio-economic conditions rather than being defensive about it.

  • Motaung - 2011-11-03 18:00

South Africa is full of pink fools. they never forget themselves as better and clever than other brown people. What makes some morons here think that they are better than Malema? Let me answer, is because they have nothing to do nor say if SELLO MALEMA is silence. Any person of sober mind cant say nor write anything nonesensical about other people unless they are mentally unstable. Those who claim to criticise JULIUS simple because he is not educated are alrite because they have got the best bad education in all spheres of learning. From home you grew up in unstable family, mentally. This is the reason you undermine other people. You learn from the best bad parents. your teachers at school, never laid a proper foundation. if I were you, critics, I was gonna go back and demand my school fees back. As for your parents, there was no guidance, and I blame them. they should have noticed that they gave birth to a complicated individual at early age here and the best was to actually ship you out of this country to animaland.Ask your mother if she gives you green light on your comment, she will say no Juju is rite unless you never had one. IS understandable. IF you accuse him of his fatness, do you need a share? ask him he will share with you moron'

      Bigrp - 2011-11-03 18:09

If I read your comment, I certainly think I am better and more clever than least I can spell and write coherently!

  • Nikki Bodenstein - 2011-11-04 01:05

Wow Motaung the only thing you've managed to convey is that you are also a disgusting racist little pig like Malema. Good for you! Your kind will never succeed because you just don't have it in you. That's exactly why you feel the need to take things away from others who actually do. Perhaps you should refrain from making any comments on here as its rather clear that you are not on the same intellectual level or even close by. Go do what you lot do best, go strike, march, riot, destroy our infrastructure and sponge off the decent hard working folk.
