Johannesburg - The Pan Africanist Movement (PAM) will unveil its logo and colours in East London on Saturday, the Movement's acting president, Thami ka Plaatjie, said.

The gathering is expected to take place between 11:00 and 12:00 at Mdantsane Sun Indoor Sports Centre.

This, after a Bloemfontein High Court judge ruled that PAM may not gather or organise under the name or colours of the Pan African Congress.

Ka Plaatjie said: "We will also be welcoming former PAC members and former Robben Island detainees, who will be pledging their allegiance to PAM."

"PAM will hold it's congress at the University of Western Cape from December 16 to 19, in preparation for next year's general-elections."

The formation of the new party comes in the wake of more than a year's in-fighting in the PAC between supporters of Ka Plaatjie and party president Letlapa Mphahlele.
