Remove Malema as ANCYL leader: CDP

2011-09-12 18:01

Johannesburg - The ruling party must remove ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema from his position, the Christian Democratic Party said on Monday.

"... Malema himself has proven over and over that he is not fit to play a positive role in the country’s future," CDP leader Theunis Botha said in a statement.

"We trust that the African National Congress will now make haste in removing him from any leadership role."

Botha welcomed a finding in the South Gauteng High Court earlier in the day that Malema's singing of the "dubhula ibhunu" (shoot the boer) song amounted to hate speech.

The last thing South Africa needed was hate speech in a polarised society, said Botha.

The ANC should share some of the blame as the party "went full out" to support Malema in this case.

"[We] trust that the ANC will not only abide by the ruling itself, but also by the spirit of it by not appealing, or simply switching to yet another song with the same message..."

Juluis Malema shouldnt of been given the chance to be head of youth in the first place. He is just pathetic and corrupt.

      d2eguy - 2011-09-13 08:05

the ANC protect their own and zuma already said nothing will happen to malema , no wonder the ANC appointed judge moegoe moegoe to protect all the corrupt members in the ANC . its seems that honesty and integrity are just foreign concepts to the ANC and its members

      sushi - 2011-09-13 08:39

what is CDP some sort of burial society they must just shut up!

      John Right - 2011-09-13 11:20

@sushi ... Bobejaan klim die berg, so hastig en so lastig bobejaan klim die berg om die boere te vererg ... If you will continue you're rasist uneducated taxi mageza ways then don't expect the white ppl to be any more accommodating that we already are. You are pushing for a civil war and you don't know where to stop.

      Zebelon - 2011-10-29 20:26

Unfortunately, the ANC will not remove Malema; he is promoting their drive, their strategy and their intention of advancing the ANC/COSATU/SACP push for the national democratic revolution that has been in progrss since 1994. People must not be fooled by the staged act where some ANC leadership appears to be adverse to the action the ANCYL. It is all a stage show to mislead the citizenry.

  • gcr - 2011-09-12 18:34

Make him stand down as the leader of the yobo's league and that he can only stand in 4/5 years time when next they run elections. Also maybe he should have a mandate to do something positive around finding employment for the mass of youths who don't have work. Think along the lines of starting cottage industries like bead work, carpet manufacture, furniture manufacture - start small and let the businesses grow. Employ the skilled people with CA's and other degrees and get them to upgrade these small business operators business skills at least this way all training is in house and the unskilled get skills

      zaatheist - 2011-09-12 18:47

Good and constructive suggestions but I am afraid they will fall on deaf ears. The ANC is all about power and money and toss the poor and unemployed.

  • farmworker - 2011-09-12 18:45

What are they doing in Politics, I guess for the love of money I guess

  • call a spade - 2011-09-12 18:54

Malema is only a limpopo village idiot with a big mouth being given power by the anc bigwigs lobbying for positions and needed the votes of the youf leek. We all know who they are, and boy did he make full use of the opportunity Now when the bluff being called we will see what they will do. Julius will learn a very old truth: When days are dark friends are few. He will now run between the two sides and will nowhere be welcome. He can wear guevara berets and rant for a couple of months, but it is game over. Guevara have been shot like a dog in the bushes. Be careful old Julie.

  • Max - 2011-09-12 18:54

@zaatheist: 100% Spot on man, spot on. Now watch the religious fanatics tear you down. It is the only way they know.

      JasunX - 2011-09-12 19:30

Hey Max, if I hated on your beliefs, you'd tear me down too. If you didn't, I'd question your dignity. But then again, you athiests have a problem with what you call our "Sky Fairy" - but you worship a man who is six feet deep and told you that your oldest ancestors were likely apes.

      Max - 2011-09-12 19:43

@JasunX: I don't worship anybody. And I am not an atheist. Only religious freaks believe that there are such things as atheists, because they have the need to explain their own shortcomings. Believe in yourself, believe in what is good, but don't worship anything. Worshiping is wrong!

      PinkAndProud - 2011-09-12 19:55

@JasonX ~ Get your facts right boy. Nobody is worshipping Dawin. They believe in his THEORY. Big difference. Besides which, there is a whole lot more proof that Darwin was in fact correct - have you been following the news and heard about the latest fossil?

      PinkAndProud - 2011-09-12 20:53

@JasOnX ~ Do you eat with the same mouth? And you call yourself a Christian? So glad that I'm not one if you're an example of what's to be expected you little god botherer. I note you're psychic as well, speak in tongues too?

  • Zenzele - 2011-09-12 19:09

Well said botha, I am a fully trained ANC cadre, left the country during soweto uprising june 1976, fought for this country, now living in England. We are the people who should be benefiting as well from this gravy train we read about back home. This malema , a toddler, an opputuirnist taking advantage of the poor back home is a pathetic parasite who needs to be exposed. We are shocked to hear of such hate incitement from this lunatic and the ANC does nothing about it. I hope this time they will suck him. We are tired everyday we read about this illitrate thug 's behaviour.

      Verdade - 2011-09-12 19:50

      Respect for you!!!

      burtfred - 2011-09-12 22:33

      What a sucking good idea!

  • Mandla - 2011-09-12 19:19

I think the ANC needs to consider the charges brought against Malema and his comrades for the future of the country. We need people like Malema who can face and challenge the white supremacy directly.White interllectuals are resigning from their positions to form groups in order to confrant the governmant constitutionaly, black people need to rise and face thiese challenges directly, some one like Malema will expose these groups and their motives thats why we black people need arrogant people like Malema for democracy to prevail in South Africa.Black people who are calling for Malema to be removed from the leadrship of the ANCYL are shortsighted. As the majority we need to challenge groups like Freedom under law and the rest of groups opperating like them in order for us to realise the reason why we voted. Its pointles for us to vote ellect a majority governmant only to be challenged by the minority via the courts, their wishes will be granted even if they do not constitute the majority in parliament. Those people in parliament are there to serve the wishes of the majority not the minority via the constitutional court.

      Johan Coetsee - 2011-09-12 19:55

Mandla there is a few things you do not understand. A constitution is the backbone of an orderly society. It also protects the interrests of all people not only the minority. If we can stop the fear of one another and the hatred we can find ways together to benifit all. More jobs, les crime, peace, good education, pensions and healthcare for everyone. This could be our collective goal. I am a white male that at a certain stage was employed in an environment where I was the only white amongst 100 black employees. I made very good friends there and we all worked well together. Unfortunately there were a few in positions of authority that wanted to enrich (and did) themselves and were corrupt. This spoiled the deal for everyone, especially for the poor who we wanted to serve. This is the same thing some ANCYL leaders wants to achieve and if they are allowed it will spoil it for everyone. The few whites that are trying to have a bit of sun shining on themselves are not the threat. Self enrichment, pride and the drive for position and power is the threat. Every successful society have a strong constitution and an indipendent legal authority protecting this constitution.

      Mandla - 2011-09-12 21:02

Johan Coetsee-i acept constructive critisism.Lets find a common ground and move the country forward. The Africaans speaking people needs black people and black people needs Africaans speaking people,so we need each other thats good for the country.

      Oldbuck - 2011-09-12 22:37

mandla - i see where you are coming from, but the government was elected by the people and is supposed to work for the better of the people, this is not happening and with the likes of malema running around making a noise and blaming the whites for everything it will never work, malema was put where he is by the government to do precisley whathe has done and that is to take the attention off them and all their wrong doings.democracy is there for you to choose,if one lot dont deliver then vote in the next lot,the government will soon realise that they work for us we dont work for them and their position of power is not guaranteed.unfortuneatly the majority of the voters dont know this and follow the malemas of the world blindly

      greatgodpan - 2011-09-13 10:27

wrong dude its supposed to be a democracy and parliment is there to represent the rights of all the citizens. But hey carry on with the nazi party program....youll be out of power or your country will be destroyed sooner than you think.

  • Bernard Herbert - 2011-09-12 19:25

Shame zaathiest stands alone, as the truth remains true whether one believes it or not, let us whom have the ruler of the universe on our side get on our knees & pray for him/her!

      BrixtonBriefcase - 2011-09-12 22:22

Bernard, people like you are completely delusional and therefore very dangerous. Believing that you "have the ruler of the universe on YOUR side" is a sick statement and the kind of thinking that can create a monster. Get help.

      Oldbuck - 2011-09-12 23:03

this blog is being turned into a religous war - give it up guys, soon you lot will be recruiting suicide bombers

    couldn't agree more

  • eradingoana - 2011-09-12 19:49

ANC is a new Apartheid Government, it might appeal the judgement because they cannot differentiate between the passed and the future. When they want one of their's to come in front, they call it transformation and when they take the passed and bringing to the front again to favour them, they call it permanent history. For sure illiteracy is disability.

  • Woofix - 2011-09-12 20:00

@zaatheist: Pls do yorself a favor and change your profile pict. to just a snake. Satan is representative of a snake and the changes is 99% that u will join him in his cage sooner than u expect. A little bit later between all the BBQ demons u will find Juju also down there where u both will beg for some mercy which is as scarce like chicken teeth.

      Blink - 2011-09-12 21:56

      hahahahaha you're an idiot!

      BrixtonBriefcase - 2011-09-12 22:26

Woofix - the middle ages called...they want their ideas back. I'm actually still surprised every time I read a comment like yours and I'm forced to come to terms with the fact that there are still some people who believe in a hell in the center of the planet where a red skinned centaur rules in a fiery realm by torturing souls.

  • Woofix - 2011-09-12 21:05

At last there is someone who are able to see and intrepret the Malema "dabakel" (scenario) in the correct perspective. I am refering to the spokesman of the ACDP. Comming from a political party with a non white leadership i can only say Hallelujah. . .there is alittle light in the front end of the tunnel (hopefully not an oncomming train, but there is light)

      burtfred - 2011-09-12 22:36

The pisspot dumbcluck fekemall party. Only blacks need apply.

  • Kevin - 2011-09-13 06:09

The disgusting ancyl is a result of the anc having no age limit on how old the members can be . The useless ones who cannot make it through hard work stay on in a youth league till they have grey hair. If they are also dishonest corrupt rubbish and retarded to the point of inciting violence then they should be removed from society. They are simply no bloody good to anyone. It is also interesting that fat boy does not have the power support he thought he had. That means there are less morons in SA then we thought.

      SuperSurfer - 2011-09-13 08:53

Well said, he is busy destroying all the hard work of the last years since the collapse of the old regime..sadly he as a incompetent wannabee who is getting away with murder, or it is his clever way of distracting every one from his corruption scandals???

  • Lion King - 2011-09-13 08:07

What does Juluis Know about the struggle.. he is detsroying Madiba's Legacy.... He should not even be part of the ANC

  • khafop - 2011-09-13 08:28

@PAR..well one is considered Youth untill the ripe age of 35,and come to think of it,would Mr Malema had as much influence had he been hanging around older comrades, clearly free expensive whisky and gigantic cake for birthdays wouldnt have won them over.As Youth we a re impressionable and quite easily taken advantage of..As for Malema,"Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely" go to church,African brother, reddefine your trueself.

  • Ray - 2011-10-29 15:02

Malema is truly the anti-christ and should be stoned accordingly. The whole world knows that Mugabe,Gadaffi and many other African leaders are truly BAD people, yet he is all for them...why?

  • Chabi - 2011-10-29 16:30

Mr. Botha if by your observations you have realized that this Country's population is polarised (which I assume you find abnormal), what have you and your party done to correct this situation ? and while I find "dhubuli'i bunu" a song out of pitch, Malema has not sang it (at least publicly) after the Judgement and his appeal to a higher court is a Legal & Constitutional process... I just hope your opposition\ dislike of Malema & your wish for his "removal" is not founded on un-constitutional and un-democratic principles of the past apartheid regime, now you can answer the question above... (Here comes the troops !!! )
