Stylish Bheki Cele at ANC conference

2012-11-24 12:37

Durban - Former national police commissioner Bheki Cele arrived at the ANC’s KwaZulu-Natal nomination conference on Saturday in his usual stylish navy trousers, striped shirt and his trademark hat.

Registration for the conference - at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban - went smoothly with the only hurdle being that some of the delegates were not aware they had to bring their identity documents with them to the venue.

KwaZulu-Natal is President Jacob Zuma's home province and the ANC's biggest in terms of membership.

It could have an influence over Zuma winning a second term as leader at the party's elective conference in Mangaung next month.

The province will take 974 delegates to the conference.

Criminals celebrating criminals. And anyone calls this democracy?

      marilyn.docherty.9 - 2012-11-24 15:24

A crook amongst crooks at the conference!

      mondli.dlomo.73 - 2012-11-24 21:29

a black man is always a suspect, no wonder why u call us criminals. i understand ur anger though, it derives from the fact that a white person will never run this country ever again, never. we have always been criminals in the eyes of the white people, do u remember that most of the ANC leaders were at some stage jailed just for fighting for what rightfully belonged to us, our land. so calling us criminals is just what ur parents taught u and i so wish that u can teach ur children the right thing.

      morne.demeillon - 2012-11-25 07:12

Mondi, that is not the point! He had his fingers in the cookie jar, yet the ANC lets him register for the conference, so that means they welcome crooks. Can you see why people think this way of the ANC?

      mholthuysen - 2012-11-25 10:41

@ 75sibusisomhlongo - Did I call you a criminal or Cele and his cronies. Just to remind you about Cele: Evidence shows R1.7 billion Rand spent on building leases were unlawful, improper and constituted maladministration. That is criminal - as is what is happening every single day with the ANC. This has NOTHING to do with a black man being suspect or a white person running the country again. The fact that the ANC is running this country into the ground is quite evidently or how do you explain R 4.400.000.000 wasted and lost during Zuma's administration. I do not care who governs South Africa, brown, black, yellow, white or green with blue stripes - as long as the party serves ALL people with integrity and honesty. So get a reality check Sibusiso!

Must love this ANC government, typical of all African Dictatorships, the leaders dress like Porn Stars or Drug Dealers, they flaunt their stolen wealth as if they are untouchable...Julius is a perfect example and Zuma with his new home...the list goes on...welcome to iAfrika...where ANC polticians are Millionares and wealth distribution is only for the Comrades like Tokyo...all rotten to the core

  • jacqui.daanevanrensburg - 2012-11-24 13:02

Its interesting how much interest comes from people who do not have any allegiance to the founding principles of the African National Congress. Rotten as things can be within the African National Congress, but u cannot make this movement better from the outside. Rather join the ANC and transform it into a better organization. Criticism and insults, directed to the ANC and its constituency, are never gonna get RSA anywhere...if you cannot join the ANC, for whatever reason, please exercise your rights and go and strengthen your opposition parties; attract and build voter confidence...then the ANC will either survive or die...

      nigel.burgess.334 - 2012-11-24 13:31

Some of us have a moral issue with joining a known criminal and corrupt party (as most honest civilised people should). Good luck to you if you're going to try and change them from the 'inside' - tell us how that goes. How many more years will this take?

      Gary.desousa7 - 2012-11-24 14:18

And thats exactly what I and thousands are doing, working with the future DA gov, strengthening them, and thanks for the advise.

      yandisa.mashalaba - 2012-11-24 14:26

It might never happen...if you still have majority of illiterate membership...But its worth a try...Remember, you have a right to join a party that fits your moral grounds...

      mondli.dlomo.73 - 2012-11-24 21:42

      i like that yandisa

      themba.thwala.775 - 2012-11-24 22:53

The ANC has been hijacked by criminals. If you remain or join, you risk being shot for expressing different opinions. Worst still, you risk becoming a criminal too
