Vavi an honest leader, Malema says

2012-09-18 17:27

Johannesburg - Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi is an articulate and honest leader, expelled ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema said on Tuesday.

"I am not very close to Vavi. He is not my friend but I like his leadership style," Malema told reporters in Johannesburg.

"He is an honest leader... he is articulate." Last week, Congress of SA Trade Unions spokesman Patrick Craven said Malema should not try to ingratiate himself with Vavi.

"Cosatu dismisses with contempt the attempt by... Malema to ingratiate himself with the leadership of Cosatu by praising... Vavi."

In an interview with the Mail & Guardian, Malema said: "I have nothing against Vavi and will always support and defend him as a brother and comrade... We speak one language with him. He is the only revolutionary remaining in Cosatu."

Malema was speaking in Sandton, accompanied by suspended ANCYL spokesperson Floyd Shivambu and secretary general Sindiso Magaqa.

  • cordom - 2012-09-18 17:41

This guy,Malema really wants to be the Che Guevera of the 21st century. He really wants to leave a legacy. He was never a worker or a member of Cosatu to say that Vavi is the only revolutionary in Cosatu.Secondly he was comparing the current system to Apartheid which he was 8years old in 1994 on our first elections.Malema must give up and get an honest job.

      Billy - 2012-09-18 23:47

      hes looking for new friends.

  • Martin522 - 2012-09-18 17:56

To catch a criminal, you have to think like one. To see the"good leadership" Malema is certainly the same caliber, making both of them good for nothing.

  • ndlovuvincent - 2012-09-18 17:56

Malema,u can try to have too many irons in fire but u lacking the brain to strike when they are hot.U have flattered a lot of people with your influence.People are watching u and one day u will pay for actions.

  • ruben.maistry - 2012-09-18 18:02

Whatis wrong with this fellow? Time is up for you, run off into the sunset.

  • khethu.ndlovu.3 - 2012-09-18 18:04

Whites hated peter mokaba for singing kill the boer, kill the rats, and when he passed away they rejoiced, their happiness was very short lived, the nightmares resurfaced in the form of malema, he sang it even louder, they hatred became even worse, now they are calliing for his death, da you think it will be done and over if he is to be silenced? I dont think so, an even more militant black will rise up, the singing of the song is not the problem, we all know what the problem is. Question to blacks, why do you hate malema so? For wanting economic freedom in our life time? Malema was not expelled from the anc for some crime, but for asking why the anc is not delivering on its promises, sure he might have been on the gravy train himself but he refused to be blinded by it, he wanted more people to be allowed into the train. Your hatred is as blind as your votes.

      whites.mustunite - 2012-09-18 18:20

Oh go suck malemas balls you retard.

      jayjay.mlungu - 2012-09-18 18:36

So much for generalising-I didn't hate Mokaba. Point of fact, Malema was expelled for a number of things not related to service delivery. His gravy train stole the money that was meant to be used for service delivery. You are too late 'cos the train is full. By the way, why do you hate whites so much?

      khethu.ndlovu.3 - 2012-09-18 18:45

Mlungu! shame! Have i indicated anywhere that i hate or love whites? Use your eyes man, they are not there to decorate your thick scull, huh!

      khethu.ndlovu.3 - 2012-09-18 18:51

Mlungu, will you care to point out 1, just one of the things malema was expelled for. Ill give you two. For saying zumz is a mistake, he forgot about the masses, 2, mines should be nationalised to benefit more people. Whether he was right or wrong is not the question here, but he was expelled for it

      bishop.solitaire - 2012-09-18 18:58

I work with whites, singing the boer song only makes the stupid and uneducated think thats ok to do so. i also work with my fellow blacks and every single one of them know (not think) that malema is a idiot. We ALL know service delivery sucks big time, we all know thats our goverment cannot cope or is incapable whichever way we put it. Malema pretends he wants to help, he has his own agenda, and nothing whats spews out of his mouth is for helping anyone. The blacks and whites in my company work hard, perhaps the lazy white and blacks should try that too. Nothing is for free. Parents should take a interest in there kidss, send them to school, build a good standing at home, thats would be a good start. And this hatred between whites and blacks is getting old, we must just all agree this aNC goverment must start comming to the party and start fixing this country.

      jayjay.mlungu - 2012-09-18 19:56

Khethu, the fact that you make the statement the "whites rejoiced" points to deep seated racism. Why resort to retarded responses? Learn to debate then come back and try again

      jayjay.mlungu - 2012-09-18 20:00

Bishop 100 thumbs up for you. Time to put colour out of the picture and be South Africans first i.e. above race, political parties and the like. Everybody I speak to just wants just leadership who identify areas and fix them and don't resort to rhetoric every time they are challenged-like my friend Khethu here

  • marcia.msengana - 2012-09-18 18:09

This time,I actually agree with him!!

  • mark.turner.1426 - 2012-09-18 18:11

  • larry.piggott1 - 2012-09-18 18:18

      beki.khumalo - 2012-09-18 18:57

Ronald, is Mlungu your boss? You surely gave his ego a lovely stroking there! Well done! Hahahahahah....

Ronald, shoooooo! What does one say when they motion a chicken away! Shoooooooo! You idiot. Coloured people have their criminals too. Just over a week ago a 21 year old white guy was killed and his BMW stolen by coloured gangsters. You remind me of this coloured friend who`s always telling white people about his “German heritage”, but omits to raise his African heritage too.Shoooooooo! You lying uncle tom chicken crap.

      themba.thwala.98 - 2012-09-18 19:27

Ronald Amos, you idiot, can you explain why the Western Cape Government has been pleading with Zuma that soldiers must be deployed to the Cape Flats, and why there`s an organisation called People Against Gangsterism and Drugs which operates in the Cape Flats?

      kganki - 2012-09-18 19:34

pwhahahaaaaa kwaaaa typical coloured! They have a few Rands in the bank and they start acting white! Eish confused crearures tltltltltltl... No offence to my boys J Kock, F Andrews, R Pienaar and others

      jayjay.mlungu - 2012-09-18 20:04

Beki the BAAS thing points immediately to your being fully racist. You wouldnt have said it if his boss wasn't white would you? Face it and debate it don't immediately drop to insults-sies man!

      bernard.nienaber - 2012-09-18 20:46

Ronald you sound kinda dumb, being a suck up will not give you that promotion you want...

  • yrhonour.honour - 2012-09-18 18:24

Vavi at this point I would be concerned.

  • wendetutubalang.wende - 2012-09-18 19:20

Malema is very correct because vavi has never should any sign of factionalism or any intention to unseat anc goverment as opposed to him. I wish that he can be schooled properly in organizational democracy and the character of the anc . His mobilization campaign is receiving dive hence he speaking about vavi because he certified a general secretary of cosatu again and he think is easy lobby cosatu in his campaign.

  • henk.tredoux.7 - 2012-09-18 19:22
