Website tampering shocks ANCYL

2012-05-02 13:30

Johannesburg - The ANC Youth League on Wednesday said it was shocked that its website had been tampered with.

"Such tampering is condemned and we hope that there will be no future repetition of such interference," the ANCYL said in a statement.

"We do expect that such wrong-doings will never be repeated by those who advance a malicious agenda."

The names of expelled ANCYL president Julius Malema and suspended secretary general Sindiso Magaqa were removed from the website, leaving blank spaces next to those positions on the page listing its national executive committee.

Names restored

Their names had been restored to the page by Wednesday afternoon.

The ANCYL said the information on the website belonged to the youth league and "not individuals who believe otherwise" and that it had restored the names.

Suspended youth league spokesperson Floyd Shivambu's name also remained on the list of NEC members.

Although Malema was expelled from the ANC last week following an announcement by the party's national disciplinary committee of appeal, the ANCYL has said he will remain president until its next election in 2014.

He was found guilty of sowing division in the party and of bringing it into disrepute for unfavourably comparing the leadership style of President Jacob Zuma to that of former president Thabo Mbeki, and for remarks on bringing about regime change in Botswana.

Magaqa was suspended for a year for making derogatory remarks about Public Enterprises Minister Malusi Gigaba. He has since apologised.

Shivambu's ANC membership was suspended for three years for swearing at a journalist and for issuing a statement calling for a change of government in Botswana.

Bwahahahaha - Idiots ... truly truly clueless !!!

      Wimpie.Haefele - 2012-05-02 13:38

Atleast the hackers understood the results of the disciplinary hearing

      Squeegee - 2012-05-02 13:40

      New ANCYL website =

      CharlesDumbwin - 2012-05-02 13:48

They did it themselves, now they trying to do an about turn to keep Malema supporters happy. The politics and infighting in the ANCYL will tear them apart. I LOVE IT !!!

      zaatheist - 2012-05-02 15:48

@Charles Dumbwin For once I agreed with you. But don't tell anyone.

      William - 2012-05-02 16:54

Be careful! If this happens again the ANCYL will DEMAND that the internet be switched off!

      Gestoffle - 2012-05-02 18:06

Those names were always there on the site, they just had to remove the tipex off the screen....

      Raymond - 2012-05-02 20:35

Ja, I hang my frikkin head in shame. I know Teletubbies who have more social graces than these buffoons.

      Koos - 2012-05-02 13:40

Don't insult buffoons. They actually have a purpose, these guys here don't.

      henk63 - 2012-05-02 16:29

I'm just gobsmacked that they even dare to infer that anyone found it worthwile to hack into their website. They just don't get it do they. The fact that they still exist is a miracle, and only the incompetent ANC probably think they are still relevant.

      Squeegee - 2012-05-02 16:46

You socialize with telletubbies Craig...? On which planet?

  • spjacobson - 2012-05-02 13:42

lol they must hack the webiste everytime the change it back haha.. till they get the point

      Johan - 2012-05-02 13:49

I agree - Any good hackers around on News24 comments section? ?

  • Johan - 2012-05-02 13:42

Just as a matter of interest - What does the Indian community think about Magdalene Moonsammy and her unconditional support for Julias Malema?

      CharlesDumbwin - 2012-05-02 13:50

Don't go there. Because then you'll have to question all the ANC's speeches of the last few years and see how they continue to segregate South Africans along lines of race. The ANC and their Youth League have NO PLACE for minority groups in South Africa. The quicker ALL groups realise this and start standing together, the BETTER for our future !!!

      Johan - 2012-05-02 13:57

I fully agree - It is not only the white population that gets marginalised by the ANC and it's Youth wing. How many times were coloured and Indian people also targeted by this organisation. I am just stunned that a young and seemingly intelligent Indian lady wants to associate with these "revolutionaries"

      CharlesDumbwin - 2012-05-02 14:00

That's what happens when you spend too much time around stupidity. You grow down to their level ...

      Johan - 2012-05-02 14:04

Thanks Rikesh! Interesting comments. I see JuJu was trying to find a white comrade also recently. Jonathan Covadia or something. Wonder if that poor boy will also have to try and do the tribal dances!

      Musawenkosi - 2012-05-02 14:28

I think now is the time when people of this country will not use race to drive their point home

      Glyn - 2012-05-02 15:58

@Musawenkosi - You are right! Now tell the anc to do that. Tell them to drop racist BEE and racist AA! A hand-up is one thing but a racist hand-full is just plain racism. Vote DA, give the anc a big fright!

      Zahir - 2012-05-02 18:19

She gets paid a lot to go along with the ancyl train to nowhere but if the cash stops flowing to her she will jump off

      Krish - 2012-05-02 22:56

Somebody has to satisfy her feminine needs.

      Krish - 2012-05-02 23:01

I dfare Malema to nominate her to be the nrxt President of the ANCYL.

  • Greg - 2012-05-02 13:53

So is there any reason why on earth this idiot's name should remain on the website? How are you the president of an organisation you are not even a part of?? Get over it ANCYL boys and girls, he's gone!!

      David - 2012-05-02 14:04

Totally agree. He has been expelled from the ANC. These youngsters just don't seem to understand, they are not a party, just the youth league. Arrogant little children.

      henk63 - 2012-05-02 16:33

@dlawre30 - problem is they are children in grown up bodies. All of these idiots are waaay past 30 and still regard themselves as "youth". They don't know that age is determined by years, not mentality.

  • Wayne - 2012-05-02 13:53

So the naughty, arrogont, defiant teenager still rants on...

  • revaro.winkler - 2012-05-02 13:53

  • Comfido Nziyane - 2012-05-02 13:57

wow m glad, whoever tempered with da website deserve a very serious shumbok.

      Deon - 2012-05-02 14:09

Last time i heard he was expelled, that means he is not allowed to have any more part of any ANC structure.

      Krish - 2012-05-02 23:07

Only the ANCYL can do that. They were threatened by Malema to put it back.Dont look for scapegats for your folly.

  • Mike Purchase - 2012-05-02 13:58

You should have put a password on your name or are you too dumn to know that.

  • ShottaZee - 2012-05-02 13:58

The perpetrators must be brought to book. The revolution will never be hijacked. ASIJIKI!

      CharlesDumbwin - 2012-05-02 14:01

The perpetrator was Floyd, already planning his take over ...

      Bless Boswell - 2012-05-02 15:35

How can you have a revolution when the ANC are in power? Are you revolting because you want freedom? You have freedom. If you want jobs, a car, a home - then work for it like all the whities have done. "I want" doesn't bring anything but disappointment. If you want then go and make it happen, not by taking, stealing, defrauding - but by honest hard work!

  • Deon - 2012-05-02 14:19

Wake up ANCYL they have left the building.

      CharlesDumbwin - 2012-05-02 14:22

and they took the taps and light fittings with them ...

  • Johan - 2012-05-02 14:20

I see at least on wikipedia, someone changed his title to "Former President of the ANCYL" Well done for speaking the truth - whoever it was!

  • Vincent - 2012-05-02 14:25

Juju may be gone forever...Juju might return. Who knows? We will see.

  • Marius - 2012-05-02 14:31

The ANC should just cut off all funding to ANCYL. Then the rest of their NEC will leave by themselves too, because there will be no more money to continue the life of luxury they had been living up till now, which the parent organisation had been paying for all these years.

  • Mike Purchase - 2012-05-02 14:40

Vincent im sure you got what he meant i thought it was excellent.

  • Gavin - 2012-05-02 14:40

Oh no !! call the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaambulance !!

  • Mike Purchase - 2012-05-02 14:41

  • ilsewepener - 2012-05-02 14:42

These people can just never understand when it is really over. Stop flogging a dead horse and move on, I'm sure some mall will accommodate the two comrades as car guards.

  • maseratifittipaldi - 2012-05-02 14:42

So someone gave Julius his electronic freedom?

  • dianne.hartley.9 - 2012-05-02 14:43

Who gives a sh#t! Majority of citizens know that 'fat boy' is no longer leader, it just hasnt sunk into the brainless followers yet.

  • louis.langenhoven - 2012-05-02 14:54

and here I was, damn fool, believing there was progress....

  • Andile - 2012-05-02 14:58

But seriously now can't the ANC just disband this whole structure? I'm sure the likes of Moonsamy are so scared of Julius that even on his sleep they tremble. So we will have this cycle of suspending, expelling, appealing until when. Talking about Julius turning the ANC to a circus master @really pissed now@

  • HideousRex - 2012-05-02 15:47

the person who "hacked" the ANCYL website should have inserted "Bobbejaan" in the place of Julius Malema's name! ...... Brilliant! :D

      Steven Trollip - 2012-05-02 17:47

these bastards think they can do what they want . i mean really if you are expelled then you are expelled are they now hoping that by keeping their names on the website is somehow gonna make the people think it did not happen. For crying out loud how long will you try and stay in a position where you have unlimited funds available? let it go dumb dumb, some other bastard needs to upgrade his shack lmao

  • Steven Trollip - 2012-05-02 17:49
