Western Cape ANC wants Malema back

2012-06-11 11:06

Cape Town - The Western Cape ANC Youth League has welcomed a decision made by the ANC in the province at the weekend calling for the reinstatement of expelled leader Julius Malema and two others.

The ANCYL said in a statement on Monday that it supported the motion to tackle the National Disciplinary Committee of Appeal's decisions regarding Malema, suspended secretary general Sindiso Magaqa and spokesperson Floyd Shivambu.

The ANC in the Western Cape's motion followed the provincial general council (PGC) at the weekend.

"The ANCYL in the Western Cape impressed on the PGC the urgency that the special ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) that sits [Monday] resolves the matter through a political solution."

The league in the province want Malema's expulsion and Shivambu and Magaqa's suspensions set aside.

ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu refused on Sunday to comment on newspaper reports that the upcoming NEC meeting would discuss the fate of Malema.

The special NEC was convened to discuss preparations for the party's national policy conference. But according to the Sunday Times and the Sunday Independent it would also discuss Malema's fate.

Mthembu said the NEC members would decide on Monday whether they would hold a press briefing or not. The meeting would take place in Irene outside Pretoria.

@ Tsotsi-baby Please could you tell us when the DA ever did rule the land since you say they won't ever do it again.

Let the Tri-partite kill each other. They're practically at each other's throat already.

      downwiththeanc - 2012-06-11 14:21

ANCYL is a bunch of nincompoops that worship Mugabe and would love to even clean his toilet if they were given a chance. The ANC has expelled clown jUjU already. What is this nonsense talk of bringing him back from the grave. He is useless now and if he wants to still be in the scene he must start his own party, maybe call it YOUTH LEAGUE NINCOMPOOPS- any other suggestions ?

      Edward - 2012-06-11 14:41

@Tsotsi-Baby; a history lesson. The DA never ruled SA so it can't rule it again. Also DA was started by Anti-Apartheid activists. Or can't someone with white skin have fought against apartheid?

      Juan - 2012-06-11 15:04

@totsi the DA is not likely to rule with a white face i.e. Helen Zille on the cover, however should the DA have a competent black leader at the helm this picture will be likely to change. Helen is in all likelyhood the last white leader, but not withstanding she has drummed up a lot of black support. So watch out ANC

      DanielDennett - 2012-06-11 15:12

There's a new article where the ANC deny this and blame it on an element of devisive youth so this article is old news

      farmfreund - 2012-06-11 17:46

it would be great please bring him back, he and JZ will destroy the last bid of the Anc, together they are a great team,

Yes Tsotsi, Fransman played a huge role in ensuring I got my Monday morning dose of humour.

      charlesdumbwin.dumbwin - 2012-06-11 11:47

You right, more ANC clownish behaviour is what we need to keep winning from the ANC. Keep up that clownish behaviour, it's working !!!

      Jacqui - 2012-06-11 11:52

Tsotsi, Fransman is a clown,a populist nd plain stupid. If you believe in what he has to say, I feel really sorry for you

      antin.herinck - 2012-06-11 11:54

@ Baby-Tsotsi. Haha. I like your sense of humour. Now, ask mummy to change your nappy -you start to smell.

      True - 2012-06-11 11:58

@ Tsotsi-Baby. Fransman is just trying to keep his job. Don't be taken in by the confusion of his words. Firstly, how can the DA be both neo-liberal and right wing? Just shows you how much Fransman knows about politics. Face the truth.More and more people are looking to the DA to sort things out.At the moment, to use Fransman's own words, the ANC in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape have the sea at their backs and they have nowhere else to go. They will say anything to attract voters, especially the gullible, misguided and unintelligent. Which one are you?

      Tsotsi-Baby - 2012-06-11 12:11

ANCYL, like the ANC is going around in circles. Away with the fat boy, he had his chance and brought nothing of value to anyone. If there ever was a time for real leaders to come forward and lead our country it's now. Militant revolutionaries with selfish/racist political agendas will bring this country to it's knees.

  • banele.xaji - 2012-06-11 11:34

What chances are there that Black people and Africans in particular will trust the DA to run this country after apartheid? The reason people vote ANC is because there is no alternative. Once bitten twice shy. People vote on their experiences, whether we care to admit it or not.

      Allan - 2012-06-11 11:43

To put you in the picture the DA has never been in power in South Africa just the National Party and they are now part of the ANC. How have you been bitten?

      Nicky - 2012-06-11 11:55

Idiot... when did you vote for the NP before the ANC was unbanned...?

      Jacqui - 2012-06-11 11:59

Banele, the NP, is not the DA. The NP joined the ANC. The DA has nothing to do with apartheid. I am always sorry when people like you have an opinion without taking time to learn the facts. You have a computer, use Google and get your facts straight.

      nigel.burgess.52 - 2012-06-11 12:13

Black people do have an alternative. The problem is when dealing with so many uneducated people who still believe in the Tokolosh for heavens sake then what hope do we have of them seeing the intelligent way forward. I also understand people voting on experience, but what experience have you had with the ANC so far? Anything good? Time to throw the skeletons out the closet and stop seeing spooks behind every bush.

      Michael - 2012-06-11 12:14

Education is the key to unlock an archaic brain.

      Michael - 2012-06-11 12:14

DA was then DP which included Helen Suzman and many other greats also fighting for democracy. But then I suppose the facts don't interest you, its just the fact that some white people are in the DA which offends many black people. Welcome to the new racism of SA.

      Michael - 2012-06-11 12:15

      Sorry not DP but PFP

      Tax - 2012-06-11 12:24

Please tell us how you are better off now after Apartheid?

      banele.xaji - 2012-06-11 12:25

Be that as it may, most people who experience racism are black, and they experience it from beneficiaries of apartheid. Truth is there is no trust, I know I wouldnt vote Da because it is led by white people, and if history is anything to go by. My interests will be trampled upon, so I will not take the risk. Finish and klaar. Just as you do not trust the black government- who has only made you wealthier, and eliminated the guilt by trading justice with truth as we saw with the TRC. Not yet uhuru cause the social systen and property ownership is still intact. A real revolution is still yet to come.

      Michael - 2012-06-11 12:37

"A real revolution is yet to come". I find that ignorance hugely annoying as you obviously have not idea of what a war is or is going to be like. And I don't ever remember the black elite flourishing so well under any other government. Face it, all these demands are greed driven instead of looking for ways to work together. And if you are racist, you will target "whites" wealth. I am sick to death of racists.

      Rob - 2012-06-11 12:44

banele....The reveloution has been replaced for many years now by the revelooting instigated by the comrades of lootfreely house. It appears the spoils of this revelooting has not filtered down to it's supporters. Ya, I'd be p!ssed too !

      henryian73 - 2012-06-11 14:01

@Banele. The DA is not the NP of old which became part of the ANC. Zille is a former journalist and anti-apartheid activist, and famously exposed the truth behind the death of Black Consciousness leader Steve Biko while working for the Rand Daily Mail in the late 1970s. She also worked with the Black Sash and other pro-democracy groups during the 1980s. So what do you mean by saying once bitten twice shy? The DA is also the only party that is picking up on the promise of 'A Better Life for All' and actually delivering on it! The sad reality is that the ANC under Zuma has failed us all! When the DA warned to STOP ZUMA the ANCYL was ready to Kill for Zuma not because they cared about the poor but because they cared about their own back pockets but how the wheel has changed. The ANC is over and was corruption its down fall. They had the most greatest opportunity to turn things around for ALL but the lost it!

      nigel.vanysendyk - 2012-06-11 16:23

please, stop with your brainwashed rubbish, ever thought for one second why there is no black led opposition, Ill tell you, because too many blacks think like you, you give the ANC absolute power like fools.

@ banele.xaji: the DA is not only WHITE, they consist of colour as well! Though your statement makes a lot of sense, it is also a stupid one and ignorent one. Since the ANC is so GREAT, why does 'n well know TV channel have to build hospitals (while the ANC takes holidays and spends all the money on themselves. At least the DA assists with cleaning up roads, fixing roads, etc..... What have the ANC done except party our money away? PLEASE TELL ME!!

  • richard.zanner - 2012-06-11 11:41

Ok so we again have the big question, was he fired or was he not. ANC seems to have a hard time in determining whether somebody is fired or not. Celebe still does not know and Richard Nthuli was being fired and unfired so fast that I could not keep track. What was the point of the whole legal process followed from level to level if in the end it is simply undone by virtue of a request and a discussion. Certainly sets the standard for legal stability, or not. Seems the inside of the ANC is like a battle zone. SO if Sexwale comes in then Zuma is out and Malema is back in. Zuma prosecution will continue and he gets to take over the cell of Shaik who has vacated same.

Good I also want Malema back. We have a big problem in this counrty named Zuma and MAlema, prior to his expulsion was on the right track to deal with the problem. So Malema should be a least of our worries, lets worry about how we take Zuma off at the Mangaung confence

      charlesdumbwin.dumbwin - 2012-06-11 12:08

Everyone will become ANC members ahead of Manguang, just to keep Zuma in power to squash this ANCYL tsosti uprizing.

Mbu TeBo Lothlare Dikgacwi This is very mischievous of the ANCYL or whoever has made this report to is, as much as I am not the Spokesperson of the ANC in the Province....that I was at the PGC and the issue of Julius Malema was never entertained in the PGC as the PGC was not mandated to discuss the agenda of an NEC meeting which was still to sit on this and any other matter...after this input from the Secretary of the Province the Plenary agreed to resolve that: Indeed the PGC SHOULD NOT EVEN DISCUSS IT. So whoever, and I dare challenge that faceless source to raise his/her hand to say \I DID\... has given this report is not only economic with the truth but also lacks intergrity and I move that he/she be charged for bringing the organisation into disrepute by misrepresenting the resolutions of a legitimate and Constituional Structure of the ANC in the Province

It is very simple: Which party is providing the most benefit for the lowest cost? Or put another way, which party spends the most on BLING? Arrogant anc should look north to Malawi to for an example to follow.

Sorry to say it is a white and black issue again. Think black people: why would whites really care if Malema comes back? If he is back Zuma is out, two months later who ever Malema uses to get back will have no use for him and then he will be gone. Let us grow up white and black and see the real struggle of our time is greed .It is cold and the poorer of the poor is suffering, while MP’s has nice cars, staying in fancy hotels. I can’t think how cold it is to sleep in a shack while my leaders drink Jonny Walker.

      Nyiks11 - 2012-06-11 12:58

One would be led to think it is only ANC MPs who drink expensive liquor whilst other parties MPs drink homebrews such as Skokiaan , Sebapalemazenke and kill-me-quick

  • nkadimeng - 2012-06-11 11:59

    Juju my president!

      Michael - 2012-06-11 12:17

Go to Zimbabwe then and learn from Juju's mentor.

  • Nyiks11 - 2012-06-11 12:00

in that case let them relocate Juju to the WC where he is "needed" the most

      charlesdumbwin.dumbwin - 2012-06-11 12:14

I like that idea, how about we start at Robben Island?

      Nyiks11 - 2012-06-11 12:25

He will be too comfortable on robber's island ,try Constantia ,Tamboerskloof or Riebeeckshof

      DanielDennett - 2012-06-11 15:11

He has helped himself to so much money he can do better than those areas you refer to.

  • Herman - 2012-06-11 12:01

Yes, I agree, live is so boring without a clown.

  • Bryan - 2012-06-11 12:03

Thw Western Cape is the political "flagship" of the country and we are proud of that. We have shown the rest of the country how it has to be done and continue to embarrass all other provinces. The ANC will NEVER get their gruubby paws on this piece of real estate, Instead we will take Limpopo and Eastern Cape and turn them into success stories as well. The ANC know this but as usual cannot face up to reality. Bring on election day.

  • jmasha3 - 2012-06-11 12:07

      Michael - 2012-06-11 12:25

Very pertinent indeed. Nazi imagery applied to Juju!

  • Michael - 2012-06-11 12:10

Makes you wonder who is losing money on tenders when that fatboy is out of office.

      charlesdumbwin.dumbwin - 2012-06-11 12:13

exactly, just waiting for the Hawks and SARS to swoop in now and put Cheeseburger Malema behind bars for life.
