Zille: ANC extending economic apartheid

2012-07-28 12:32

Pretoria - The ANC has been extending economic apartheid by maintaining "the wall" between haves and have nots, Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille said on Saturday.

"The ANC government has been extending this wall. Together with their friends they have been dividing South Africa's too small pie of wealth and jobs amongst themselves," said Zille at the launch of the DA's Jobs Campaign in Freedom Park, Pretoria.

"They are satisfied with lower growth and fewer jobs. As long as they keep these to themselves."

She accused the African National Congress and its allies in "some businesses and unions" of "shutting down your freedom".

Zille argued the economy was separated between "insiders and outsiders".

"The insiders are those who have jobs, homes and the prospect of earning more and building a better future," Zille said.

"The outsiders are the millions of poor South Africans who don't have a fair chance to make it. Their schools don't work, the poor don't have jobs and they can't start on the road to a better life."

She said the DA planned to improve this divide by making it easier to invest, grow and develop businesses, hire more workers and expand foreign trade, particularly with other African nations.

"For this plan to succeed we need a healthy growing economy," Zille said.

"No country has ever beaten unemployment and poverty, without a strong and growing economy."

She said the example of other developing nations had shown that the South African economy would need 8% of annual growth - a target she admitted was high. She said South Africa had a rate of growth of 3.6% a year.

"We are aiming high - but we have to. The millions of unemployed South Africans require it. And it is in their power to choose it at the next election."

Youth wage subsidy

Zille said the DA's "Plan for Growth" would improve public education so every learner left the system able to find a job or start a business. She said schools would be held accountable for their shortcomings, with schools to be built or repaired as needed.

The plan would also emphasise small businesses, arguing that such businesses were where most jobs are created.

"We've got to make it easier and cheaper to start a business. We will cut red tape for small businesses and reimburse them for the training they give workers," Zille said.

She added that the plan would make it "easier to hire more people".

Zille spoke on implementation of the youth wage subsidy, and maintained that it had already been shown to work in Western Cape, where she is premier.

"But we need to implement it throughout the country so that it can benefit over 400 000 young people."

She also proposed an "opportunity voucher" for young people to be used to pay for their education, start a business or build capital.

Zille said infrastructure development was also key to the DA plan as it would both encourage foreign companies to come to SA but also put people to work.

"There are thousands of workers sitting at home, ready to work on projects like these. They shouldn't need to wait any longer."

Zille also proposed the creation of "job zones" for companies to create jobs locally instead of overseas. She said the DA would create laws to make it easier for employees to own shares in the companies they work for.

"The DA's plan for growth and jobs is not some imaginary wish list. It is our blueprint for a brighter economic future for every South African," she said.

The DA has a plan for SA where is the Anc plan? Tenderpreneurs, cadres deployed, more corruption and union interference in economy

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 13:57

Its funny, how quickly the ANC loud mouths forget about Motstepe, Kulubase Zuma, and all the other ANC millionares when talking about economic equality.

      rocky.bell.927 - 2012-07-28 13:58

crack-demon-farth-fragrance (mocke) still here with your BS and news framing. There is not enough time and space to list all the dismal failures of the anc, and that you know just as well as all of us – stop hiding behind feeble accusations – we can all see your pathetic efforts to distract from the DA and their successes. Eish.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 14:01

Just wondering... why are all the ANC fanboys so quiet on articles about dumped textbooks and failed education systems?

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 14:14

diegofrank.faul - "ANC has tried" LOL, this guy :P The ANC investment wing makes billions from dodgy tenders (Hitachi to name one). Somehow you dont see a cent of that money.

      mantsho.tlali - 2012-07-28 14:25

@morama, ur the one who is stupid, you sit infront of your computer and type anyhow. Are you Tenderpreneurs, cadre deployed, maybe where your ,your in somebody else's place, so are scared that if DA takes power you will be removed because you dont qualify. it is the people like you who are destroying this country because your doing the job you dont know about.

      patricia.dewet.92 - 2012-07-28 15:57

Diegofrank maybe the whites should come into power to give the blacks work, because this cannot be done by their party. To steal properly takes a lot of concentration.

      lester.nel - 2012-07-28 19:51

@morama hey since u believe in fairy tales how about u go and kiss a frog and see if it turns into ur lover mugabe!the Anc like you are pathetic.

      tw2066 - 2012-07-28 20:14

Zahir - Reading some of the replies to your comment, it would appear that the average ANC suppota would far rather live with service delivery riots, book burning, corruption, nepotism and blind belief in a failed state than in a safe thriving economy. This being the case, nothing anyone says would help these people. Funny thing though, the ANC policies have a far greater negative effect on their suppotas than their detractors... So, ANC suppota - please carry on beleiving. Do us a favour. As for morama, please allow me to appologise on his or her behalf. Having a go at you in the manner he/she has done is disrespectful, and tells a great deal about him/her, adn the type of people who support the ANC.

      aiazmir - 2012-07-28 20:55

@craig.demontfortbraganca. You are a fool. Your nonsensical tirade only shows your leanings and shallow grasp of what is happening in South Africa. The DA is the fastest growing political party in South Africa and do you know where that growth is coming from. Blacks. Your comment, " Corruption: The point on tenderpreneurs is equally valid here" shows you are so out of thouch with the corruption being perpertatrated by the ANC that you are a child, an uninformed and useless child.

      dewaldmontgomery - 2012-07-28 20:59

If they are 'failing dismally', why has the former DP gone from 2% in 1994 to 34-44% on average in most urban areas? Considering the number of whites that emigrate, where did those votes come from, exactly?

      sean.bagley.50 - 2012-07-28 21:06

The ANC is pathetic. They can only play the race card,toi-toi and throw the word Apartheid infront of their voters wow they stay in Government.Helen and the DA are makng far more sense in what she says and still some pathetic ANC loyalist on this forum can only resort to name calling at Helen or the DA.Why don't you ANC morons come up with something in reply to what Helen says regarding growth, investment, jobcreation for all, fewer crime, etc in a televised debate instead of making imbecilic remarks.Helen has said that she'll go on tv to debate these issues with you ANC and you too afraid to do so you bloody cowards.

      EricksonTL - 2012-07-29 03:00

Craig is the poster child for the ANC... all the more reason not to vote for idiots. I think it's contagious.

      Vince.York - 2012-07-29 10:23

craig of demons and fortified bragging! Craig, the ANC is ONLY in power because we do not have a qualified suffrage based on educated levels of reasoning and comprehension or even business acumen, and with the level of education that you appear to have, you should accept your responsibility and duty to guide those that have not had the benefit of ed' and extra readings with time to compare good from bad worldwide. Your arguments in favor always of the regime in just this silo secreted from the world through criminally bad education and re-written history OBE, do cloud the very blatant obvious factor, that they CHOSE not to follow ancient cultures, royalty and collective communism BUT AS A NATION WE ALL CHOSE A NEW DISPENSATION CALLED DEMOCRACY because communism HAD FAILED ENTIRELY. Concentrate on educating our people with what we are all meant to be focusing in line with, instead of simply being one of the blinded sheep carried away in the jaws of this rotten thieving regime that IS NOT THE ANC AS IT USED TO BE any longer. In relation to race issues, many of the europeans DID arrive here with infrastructure, ships and goods and people resourced with advanced ed and capacity, each ship worth more than the entire country at THAT TIME & it is fundamentally wrong for this regime to now teach all the youth that every european was a murdering thieving scoundrel the likes as what the anc leadership are making themselves out as.

      Byron - 2012-07-29 11:19

@dewaldmontgomery "If they are 'failing dismally', why has the former DP gone from 2% in 1994 to 34-44%" Glad you brought that up. So, all you have to do is look at the numbers the NP got in 1994 and compare that to the DA the following election. I'd say the DA is extremely successful at getting the NP voters vote. Especially since those NP voters would rather have voted for the NP in 1994 instead of the liberal DP. Its only when the party merged with the ANC that the voters jumped shipped to the next best thing to the NP - the DA.

      logancyoung - 2012-07-30 09:59

@craig.demontfortbraganca ah there it is... I must say I was impressed by your reply here... well, most of it anyway. You seemed to be objective (if clearly biased) and concise. this isn't something I'm used to seeing on N24 or in the political arena at all, so it was refreshing to a point. Your bias however, and your gratuitous mention of racism destroyed it for me. What a shame...

      linds.ronhouse - 2013-01-26 18:09

Obviously you have never heard about the National Development Plan. Even Zille agrees that it is an excellent plan.

  • Avesh Athmanand - 2012-07-28 13:01

lol just for the sake of political power hunger everyone has solutions but delivery time? Please put the country first !!!

  • vmeiring1 - 2012-07-28 13:16

Zille, you absolutely so right. Wow, have this woman got brains and does the DA hold such a great future for South Africans. They are concerned about the all the citizens of South Africa, and not just about their comrades.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 14:52

Err, the DA is supported by 25% of the population. And the ANC top dawgs hold at least 40% of the economy.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 14:52

Whos calling whom a troll here?

      aiazmir - 2012-07-28 21:10

@Sinudeity. Do you know that we have been signing up members for the DA at 20 per morning in black area's in the ward where I live. The truth is blacks are pretty gatvol of the promises of the ANC. All talk and no action. Furthermore, black people are not stupid as you seem to imply. Blacks are in the majority, and soon the DA will be too. Watch this space.

      tobydt - 2012-07-29 08:07

observer - Nowhere did I imply black people are stupid. My comment was aimed at another comment that was deleted in the meanwhile.

      Matthew - 2012-07-30 14:04

Yeah,to Sinudeity's defense, that does happen alot now.news24 admins delete the trolls.which is good, because they never did that at all.finally someone on news24 woke up. he was replying to a troll's comment (that was deleted) i read earlier. Sinudeity is legit man

  • carlson.thipe - 2012-07-28 13:18

This, is not just a plan. Count my vote.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 14:05

Actually, the DA is supported by 25% of the nation. The ANC votes dropped by 4% in the last national elections, and 6% in the last municipal elections. The ANC is losing votes, and the DA is gaining votes. Vavi made a speech the other day, about people in the townships supporting DA, thats how scared COSATU is of losing support.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 14:51

craig - Err... no. Since Zumba took office, the ANC has lost 9% of voters. The DA climbed from 16% to 25%. You do the math.

      rocky.bell.927 - 2012-07-28 15:11

Sinudeity do you think this will sink in with crack-demon-fart-fragrance (mocke) - don't think so. Not even with his tersiary education at an Afrikaans University or working for a company started by Afrikaners decades ago. FLMAO. Funny how these institutions all from the apartheid era were good enough for this joker.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 18:17

craig - Most ANC supporters did not vote? I guess that doesnt make them ANC supporters anymore. Dont worry broer, this trend is going to continue. Thanks to your incompetent and corrupt party.

      richard.hipkin - 2012-07-30 09:23

So Craig, if the ANC build a uni is it still cheap labour? Typical ANC, when losing the fight whip out the old race card, followed by the "forefathers" card.... yawn... A looting Continua

  • bigman.dontcry - 2012-07-28 13:20

Hellen Zille has point in place is that we can undermine such cos she's from opposition party. Like yesterday I was discussing such with colleagues at work that unlike previously where we find high number of youth being employed.\r\nI think this might be the time to shift from black leaders to whites cos blacks seem no care for us.\r\nTruly a western culture needs whites for maintainance.\r\nI support her ideas cos is the one that can take us out from hell.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 14:07

DA (DP) was the opposition party during apartheid. Brush up on your history abit diegofrank.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 14:08

diegofrank - If we look at the ANC top dawgs, then its clear that blacks dont care about blacks in South Africa :P

      melania.nel - 2012-07-28 19:02

@gladstone. I have black ancestors according to the anc school curriculums. I don't own land and my family never owned land either. And I am poor. I will never mock poverty. I come from a poor white family that was also poor during apartheid. I don't have a country to go back to because I was born here. So was my ancestors. And just for your info, apartheid didn't benefit all whites, and let me assure you that the ones who benefited have been long gone to other countries just after apartheid ended. They fled and most of us who were left wanted a normal life together with all the citizens. Its people like you who should leave as in now. We don't need racists.

      ruan.nielsen.3 - 2012-07-28 22:27

      johnathon.masters - 2012-07-29 20:54

Gladston, the land was never ever yours in the first place. The only inhabitants of South Africa back in history were teh Khoisan. The blacks stole theirn land, so why do the blacks not give all this stolen land back to them. The entire black south african popuation, every single one, in fact emmigrated down from the central african jungles. The whites of south africa, have as much claim to the land as the blacks ever have. Also remember, if anyone does not have the power to defend themselves, the spoils always go to the victor. This is how the entire world works, and always will.

Oh right, there was an ANC lekgotla on the weekend :P

      tommo.too - 2012-07-29 04:08

@Craig. Your first comment. How incredibly childish. Stop wasting our time and yours

      richard.hipkin - 2012-07-30 09:28

That's the problem craig, the ANC love to have all these expensive "show of power" meetings, lekgotla, imbizo, etc, etc, etc... NOTHING ever comes out of these except bum-showing, infighting, power struggles and self indulgence - often at the expense of South Africans. Move over ANC, you wouldn't even know you lost power when it happens because you will still be fighting for positions.

  • Erna - 2012-07-28 13:39

When will the anc supporters commenting on this site realise that the minority are no longer the have's and that there are a huge number of the majority that are part of that group, probably including the ones commenting here. Just look at the traffic and see who is driving the very expensive German cars! Helen Zille is talking about creating work opportunities for the poor man/woman on the street, not the millions of people (both white and black) who have jobs. At least she has presented a practical plan which is more than the anc is doing - they just talk and increase grants.

      mantsho.tlali - 2012-07-28 14:48

      richard.hipkin - 2012-07-30 09:30

See, the ANC are in denial and their response is to attack and be hateful... signs of a dying party.

  • derrico.heus - 2012-07-28 13:42

  • atlegangm.alicia.kgarume - 2012-07-28 14:15

We should stop focusing on the conflict between these two parties, if this plan has any chance of improving our economy then let's consider it's implementation. At the end of the day we all want what's best for SA not what's best for the ANC and the DA!

  • mantsho.tlali - 2012-07-28 14:16

As South Africa is a democratic country people have a choice to choose for what they want, and here it is up to them weather in 2014 they will go and choose the government who is SERIOUSLY going to help them when they come to power or the one that always make false promises. For me l am going to vote for DA as l have always been doing, I cannot vote for people who are corrupt and always fighting for power instead of providing for people, Majority of people in the country are poor, l mean very poor, it is time for them to help themselves because no one is going to help them except the ballot box.

Want I waould like you and yours to do is wake up to the FACT that you cannot build in a conflict, only destroy. You want proof of that take a look at what is happening in Syria and what happened in much of Europe 1939-1945. Once we all engage with such facts there is still a chance to build on what remains of the positive achievements of the past.

teb: How you communicate says almost everything about your education. Yet again, if your intention is to communicate only to people with a similar mindset and education as yourself...fair enough? But if you want to be taken seriously then you have to be prepared to concentrate on your keyboard.

  • rob.bayliss.94 - 2012-07-28 15:10

So much vitriol against the DA here! Can it be that Helen has really touched a nerve and that some beneficiaries are getting a little hot under their collars. Really, if so many people are against the plan maybe it is time to give full support to the DA to go with it (UNENCUMBERED by ANC spoilers) in the WC and assess the outcomes in five years time. By then the WC may have ideas about getting its own flag!

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 15:13

They are getting scared. Lots of infighting in the ANC. And the party is losing lots of support, thanks to Jacob, Julius, incompetence and corruption. This is merely the knee-jerk defensive reaction.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 18:38

craig - Defeated? But the DA won the WCape from the ANC. The ANC support is plummeting (According to you, ANC 'supporters' are not voting anymore). DA support is rising. Be honest with yourself my man :P

      rob.bayliss.94 - 2012-07-28 20:53

craig: I am pleased that you responded because you read like an articulate person even though I do not agree with much of what you say. In particular I believe that your ideas about individualism Vs collectivism are so wrong-sided that it clouds your ability to use your talent for the betterment of yourself and your country. Collectivists systems have failed (although you can certainly find isolated exceptions...that do not prove the point, communism being a perfect example; the main reasons for that failure being that they discourage the realisation of individual talent and do encourage lack of accountability. I am certain that you are aware of the validity of my point, but if you are unsure google away. While you are at it also google the ENLIGHTENMENT to understand the importance of valuing the individual whilst ensuring social development. If one aspect of the ANC can be said to be promoting corruption and the mentality of the lowest common deneminator it is certainly collectivism.

      Vince.York - 2012-07-29 09:45

I tend to agree with "criticallyhonest" here versus craig of demons and fortified bragging!

  • hasani.malungana - 2012-07-28 15:12

I wish the ANc realises that they have been set up to fail, unless they implement radical policies. The wounds inflicked by our former white masters are still so visible.Whites remain defensive of the damage caused to a black man's psych. Even if the DA has somethings to turn the current economy around, but they reamin silent about how they plan to redress the inequalities created by apartheid. They do have something intellegent, but we have a responsibility to ensure that the White monster does not rule this country again. Have a meeting with the ANc and give them those plans you intend implementing , because blacks would rather die tahn see this wicked people govern this country again. They have so much blood in their hands and we cannot afford to be ruled by people who arent prepared to repent for the wrongs and cruelity shown to another race, in particular the blacks. This country is still recovering from the wounds inflicked by apartheid and we will rather die of poverty than return to an old order. Thanks for trying DA and keep the ANC on its toes but no to your ever ruling this country again in which ever form.I see you have few yes boys but I say no!

      lwazi.sibiya.10 - 2012-07-28 15:18

Spot on, that is the feeling among the majority of blacks.

      Billy - 2012-07-28 15:59

apartheid will never come back, ever, white people voted for it to go away in the 1992 referendum. pre 1994 there was a Democratic Party(DP), they were seen as the english persons party. after 1994 most of the NP members crossed floor to the ANC. kortbroek van schalkwyk ring a bel? the DA is a new fresh initiative, putting black people in positions is what you want, then you complain that they do it? what do you actually want? the DA believes in bringing people up to speed, making everyone equal through hard work, they want to assist people uplifting themselves, so those people can have the DIGNITY to say that THEY did it, instead of knowing that it was given as a handout. do you want white people to give you things out of pity? or do you want to be able to say YOU did it, with YOUR hardwork, with the support of a functioning government

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 18:40

Meanwhile, the ANC has shown that black folks dont care about black folks in poverty. It has shown that they cant deliver. But one thing the ANC is very good at, being corrupt and stealing from the poor :P Get real with yourselves amagents.

      nrgx.nrg - 2012-07-30 14:42

hasani - this is EXACTLY what will redress the past system, dont you get it. You cant TAKE from peter to GIVE to paul. you are NOT creating anything and the economy will fall.SA needs to create employment, business opportunity etc, and THAT will benefit every South African. You are still in the mindset of give "for free", and "take for nothing". Heres a novel idea, GET OFF YOUR ASS AND BE PRODUCTIVE...not destructive.

This so typical where people do not have the faintest idea how a democracy works and where money comes from to finance projects. It is because people cannot differentiate between party and state. • Michael - 2012-07-28 15:15

But this is an ANC policy, how can Zille call press conference to table another party's idea as theirs! Those who know policies of ANC, please tell them.... Most comments here are from people who dont know ANC polocies, please read ANC policy even if you dont like the party. THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT.

      Michael - 2012-07-28 15:24

What did they do what? when? And where. Remember Cape town was intact already, why there are more service delivery protests occurances in khayelitsha and other townships of the western cape province, you must weigh up your performance on dissadvantaged area, not where the grass was already green. Yo, you people?

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 15:30

Cape Town only has half as many protests as Joburg. Cape Town is under the increased burden of having over a million provincial refugees from the ECape. A million more people to provide with housing, toilets and jobs. Meanwhile, the ECape's health and education departments are bankrupt and close to collapse. In 2010, while the rest of the country LOST 500,000 jobs, the WCape created 50,000 jobs. Due to the Fibre Optic infrastructure laid down in CT, the city scored a huge call centre job. Its focussing on tourism, design and a few other economic directions to create jobs. Meanwhile, in the rest of the country...

      Michael - 2012-07-28 15:41

Johannesburg is carring the whole Africa, not only those province you made mension of, dont you think that is more severe and bedened province? And still ANC is doing its best, why do you expect them to do service delivery quicker than DA under the circumstances.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 16:01

Michael - Gauteng LOST jobs, while WCape CREATED jobs. Plenty of folks in CT who have moved here from Joburg. Plenty of foreign nationals too. At least in CT, we didnt have your billing issues. We dont have your tollgate issues. Heck, we dont even have pothole issues. Where is your fibre optic network? Are you the capital of the world for any industry? (Design Capital, best tourist destination in the world). Best education in the country, best healthcare in the country.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 16:02

Michael - "still ANC is doing its best" Losers whine about doing their best.

      Zahir - 2012-07-28 16:05

The anc has a lot of policy docs waiting to be implemented or maybe not in your lifetime

      nrgx.nrg - 2012-07-30 14:48

Yeah, I use the anc policy docs in the loo everyday. The anc cannot even deliver textbooks on time, how can they put in place, AND MANAGE, a complex system like this.

  • Stephen Radebe - 2012-07-28 15:19

Da is party in waiting to take over from african national congress. The ruling party is to weak to intern.

      Michael - 2012-07-28 15:29

ANC doest not compete with DA, Actualy we may take Western Cape again hey! If its not through votes, it will be thruogh a merger with eastern cape and norther cape. Thats how powerful ANC can be. Watch the space.

      rocky.bell.927 - 2012-07-28 15:52

Typical anc logic - "merging provinces to stay in power" Do they have the faintest idea what DEMOCRACY means??? NO. The kraal mentality will reign supreme for years to come, till people get an education.

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 15:57

Michael - LOL, watch this space dude. The ANC is busy crumbling. Next elections, the DA will take at least one more province from the ANC (Gauteng most likely). Talk is cheap my friend. Whats more funny, is with over a million provincial refugees from the ECape moving to CT, the DA's votes have only increased. Couple of years ago, the ANC supporters said that the ECape ANC supporters will move to the WCape to win the province back for the ANC. How did that work out for you?

      tobydt - 2012-07-28 18:45

craig - The DA has more than 50% of the votes in Cape Town. Its impossible for the ANC to win the province. Previously, the DA had to make coalitions to win the province. Now it didnt need to. No coalition can bring the ANC in. Massive and serious campaigning? But the WCape ANC said they were bankrupt. And that money was stolen out of their coffers :P As for Joburg, you forget quite a couple of things. eTolls for one, Zuma running a second term another. ANC also said that the WCape would never be won from them :P

      Matthew - 2012-07-30 14:24

Watch out for the ANC to unleash its best. We've seen that, and quite frankly its a joke. And by serious campaigning you mean resorting to merging provinces? serious campaigning or just plain desperate? =/ Go ahead and try, watch this space, watch how far down the ANC can really fall

  • Luyanda - 2012-07-28 15:37

  • rasthami.m1 - 2012-07-28 15:46

Zille's your polotics lack vigor to inspire ,let alone creativity everything that you brought up were addressed by the ruling party maybe if you could sort your race issues out within your party maybe just maybe we might endorse you as a competitive polotician

  • Matlala - 2012-07-28 15:50

Having read a briefed accouint of DA's plan one is left to believe that Government has more to do to the betterment of citizens of the country. It is true that the economy we are driving will continue to enhance chances of revolutionary political leaders, white people like Zille, Deklerk( who were prilleged by old regime policies) to harvest the wealth of the country and leave the massess on the ground with less or nothing to jaw. If Zille is serious to uplift the lives of the masses she should learn to proof to the citizens of this country that she can. It infertile of her to use the name of ANC as a stepping stone. I'm perplexed by Zille' character of hibernation when white male farmers infiltrate unbearable torture and pain in the lives of farm workers who are blacks. Her silence tells it all that she smiles behind the curtains when our people outcry about unreasonable work conditions blacks are exposed to at white farms. If indeed she cares should forst drive her plan to white farms and emancipate the lives of workers there. This could inspire young people to consider their contributions in white farms as integral phenomenon to redress the economic coat with bigger slices and opportunities chanelled to young black people in the couintry. However, ANC should abstain from enrichment of the so called custodians of revolution, liberation and freedom strugle. People of the country should be given equal opportunities to benefit from economic freedom the country is envisaging. It is evident that cadreship suppresses the aspirations of every less fortunate people in the country. The plan by DA sounds to be doable at face value. We will look forward to see what it will yield.

  • diegofrank.faul - 2012-07-28 15:55

The ANC must implement radical policies now because when your enemy blames you for what he has done and continue doing you must know you must stop protecting him and expose him before he turn your people against you with his lies.

Why are there so many black people that are racist? Didn't they learn it gets us no where. They always mention Mandela's legacy, would he really appreciate the comments and ignorance? Stop voting for the ANC for the past, vote for what they do now. And at this moment they aren't doing anything but being corrupt. I just wish ANC followers could see this. Yet, they're blinded by history and their leaders brainwashing. Stop saying white people are rich and this race is that, I'm white and I DON'T have a job. Apartheid gave me no benefits. It's a select few who are making it and at the moment it's everyone who's associated with the ANC. I'm getting annoyed with most of the black people's comments on here, it wreaks of total disregard to the facts. Just give the DA a chance. If you truly understood their message, you'd know that they want to make a change that's positive. That would benefit the WHOLE country and not just politicians. AND can we please stop dividing the country into colour, we're one nation. The mindset that the ANC has instilled is damaging our way of life and most you just don't realise that.

African countries have been bullied by the so-called SANTIONS when voiced their opinions 4 better future. How long will Africa be subjected to a DEVELOPING COUNtRY whereas DEVELOPED countries rely on Africa for their economy. As the future of a south african we should put aside racism and actually think what will make a difference in our dissing zilla coz she white and voting Anc clearly shows a lack of ones own intellect. If zilla was any other colour maybe u wld consider voting for her, but at times it seems as if our country is apartheid in reverse.. The future should actually think about a change, everyone can see what ANC has done to our country, our safety, our education and yet coz of racism we'll never move on to a better country. I'm sick of some black lossers who don't want to do anything to hustle and claim those that hustle and start companies and build them with the help of the government are corrupt and only the few benefiting. nowhere in the capitalist system you going to see equal wealth forget it. the ANC is operating under the capitalist system which these guys support. As leaders they must eat as well. not all are corrupt but just a few. you people have small brains you get confused by media. I'm a educated through ANC governmet funding back in 1996 i didn't have a cent to use to go to UCT if it wasn't for the ANC policies I wouldn't be where I am. just face facts the current policies like anywhere in the world have benefited those who work hard not some bum who sits and complain about free bees. funny the same DA members call us lazy and say we want handouts. why because of idiots like you who sell our struggle. Call the ANC whatever but it has worked for us as blacks. how many young black woman have cars in jozi, how many young black woman are bread winners at their homes through this government. the ANC looks beyond just paying you R500 and calling you employed we want more like every white person. why must we share and them don't share. whites don't care about us infact in those DA marches only Zille is white. where are all the white voters of DA.sitting at home and not wanting to toitoi with stupid blacks. wake up Sisi

Whites are keeping growth prospects for themselves using nepotism and discrimination to circulate money for the inner circle. Corruption is widespread in appointments with uneducated staff leading big teams on basis of color. The Head of Online Distribution, no tertiary education whatsoever! That is economic apartheid.

We need to move forward! Too much time is spent on issues of the past! Nothing can be done about that anyway! We can only learn from this. Fact is that Helen Zille is one of the few that is trying to do something about the un employment! We as people of this country, irrespective of colour or race need to address the problem!!! Realize that we are one nation and stop wasting our time, trying to change the past. Let's use this to find working solutions to the current problems. Most of the plans , to date to improve job creation has made no, or very little impact to the problem. Irrespective if people have an issue with Helen being white or a lady, if she is able to create jobs for ALL! Is this not what is trying to be achieved? JOB CREATION! Give her a chance! It can work and our young, unemployed nation can start building a future. At this point in time they don't have anything!

@Werner, duh!! How else do you think the DA will get to implement these policies if they do not have the vote?? Jussus, my jy is dom!!

Perhaps someone can ask ms Zilla how the DA's labour policy fits in with this employment plan: The DA will: • Simplify labour regulation • Introduce a longer probationary period in which employers can dismiss underperforming workers without penalty Without penalty???? does that mean that If a 19 year old woman is sexually harassed at the small company where she works, her boss and harasser can dismiss her if she makes a fuss??? The DA is a party of the Rich, dont ever think they have the best interests of the working class at heart.

I think you are confusing dismissal for poor performance (which is perfectly acceptable) and illegal activities in the workplace. Pull your head out man...

      diegofrank.faul - 2012-07-29 16:45

poor performance can be abused like anythign else we all know how whites are as bosses ask farm workers. if it wasn't for the union whites would continue running riot on the rights of employees. you pull your head out man. the truth is whites can say anything to get you fired.
