Zuma: Adopt organisational renewal

2012-06-26 13:20

Johannesburg - The ANC must adopt a programme of organisational renewal, President Jacob Zuma said at the party's policy conference on Tuesday.

"The renewal must include revitalisation of structures of the movement [ANC]," Zuma told delegates during his opening address at Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Johannesburg.

"[The] conference must seriously discuss the proposal."

Zuma said ANC members had a responsibility to maintain the party's character.

Organisational renewal is one of the topics in the 13 policy documents the ANC will discuss during the four-day conference.

Zuma asked delegates to discuss the notion of a second transition when dealing with the strategy and tactics document.

"It is time to ask questions about the present and future.... The last 18 years was the first transition," he said.

"We are calling for a dramatic shift... to deal with the triple challenge of poverty, unemployment and inequality."

Just play the race card openly and get over it!

      Michaele - 2012-06-26 13:52

Does zuma understand all the words he is reading? I'm sure it is gibberish to him [idiot]

      Gerald - 2012-06-26 14:11

these buffoons are going to have to take stuff from the whites in order to sort out inequality. Well you can have my tv and my job but how do you plan to take my education away? Now thats what I call freedom

      Scouter - 2012-06-26 14:17

This is the very first time I have been moved to imply the use of bad language on this site but this inane utterance by Zuma is the bitter F*****g end. No future for South Africa - that should be plain for all to see. This tragic fact has certainly become very clear to me now at least.

      poloyatonkim - 2012-06-26 14:18

Show some respect Idiots, thats your president you are talking about.

      Michaele - 2012-06-26 14:28

@polo..... The above writers, I can guarantee you, did not elect that waste of human skin. And I supose you would call him a leader, someone who inspires you and a role model for your future [as I assume 99% of the rest of the ANC voters see it]

      alan.gernet - 2012-06-26 14:56

blah blah blah re-elect me blah blah blah No education - no upliftment.

      rob.baggaley - 2012-06-26 15:15

So !!!! Once again birth control ( Less breeding = More feeding ) is NOT on the agenda. Mind you it is our " Great breeder " talking, so no surprises there. On with the abortions & babies in bins. Large dysfunctional families, finacially unable to cope. More claims of poverty & hungry mouths to feed. Idiots !

  • kobus.hattingh.5 - 2012-06-26 13:24

Wonder how many of them can pronounce it let alone spell it?

  • Rabbler.Rouser - 2012-06-26 13:24

Start by getting rid of the deadwood.

      Irene - 2012-06-26 13:33

Deadwood? That means getting rid of the entire bunch.

      Rabbler.Rouser - 2012-06-26 13:36

      @Irene. Precisely.

      Michaele - 2012-06-26 13:59

@ Irene, Not just the deadwood [or the bunch as you put it] the trees and the forests behind the Leader zuma [notice the capitals]

  • ianon.ym - 2012-06-26 13:27

"poverty, unemployment and inequality." - All of your own making ANC.

      Bush - 2012-06-26 13:36

      nigel.burgess.52 - 2012-06-26 14:44

Breed themselves into poverty then blame the White man. Now they turn to us and want to take what little we've got left as well. Everything in their favour and yet they still can't cut it. Just keep blaming things that don't even exist anymore.

  • Gavin - 2012-06-26 13:34

SA has been holding its breath for the last 18 years while the ANC sit and scratches its collective head. For f's sake man - what will it take to get you to get on with it and stop stealing, appoint the right people to critical positions, stop the farm killings, sort out corruption in the police force, stop giving your pals get out of jail free cards. In other words - MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN EVERYBODY'S LIVES AND NOT JUST THOSE OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THEIR HEADS UP THE ANCS'S ASS. F but this makes me so mad.

  • Kala - 2012-06-26 13:35

If whites didn't control the economy, there would be no economy. How many government parastatals run at a profit? Last time I checked SAA was running to government for assistance. If people want to have economic freedom then they should get off their backsides and work for it. It's as simple as that.

      Schmee - 2012-06-26 13:52

Aurora mines is a good example of why it should stay with the whites.

      Kala - 2012-06-26 13:54

Good point schmee.gol. That's a fantastic example of job destruction

      Ntuthuko M Simelane - 2012-06-26 14:28

QUESTION: are you saying whites are better?

      alan.gernet - 2012-06-26 15:03

@Ntut... Nope. The issue here is that it is not the whites at fault. The real fault lies with the failures of the ANC to plan and deliver. From day 1, the ANC should have made a better education for Black children the NO 1 priority. If we cannot educate our people so that they can run businesses and be productive, they will for the most part forever live in poverty. It's not about whites or blacks being better than each outher - it's about the Govt. taking the people of this country seriously. Education is key, and here we are 18 years later, and Limpopo school kids do not yet have their 2012 textooks. Meanwhile the Govt. spends, and wastes money left right and centre. I have truly come to the conclusion that in general, the ANC is only self-serving. The only time that the citizens matter, is when it's time to vote.

      rob.baggaley - 2012-06-26 15:20

Ntutuko. If thats not a trick question, then yes they obviously are.

      cliff.slabbert - 2012-06-26 13:45

Isn't that what convicted fraudster Tony Yengeni, the ANC's national executive spokesman said the other day ?

      poloyatonkim - 2012-06-26 14:21

No, I think you are making this up.

      Ntuthuko M Simelane - 2012-06-26 14:22

At least he has a sense of weird humour. Should do well in theitre.

  • kindness.sweet - 2012-06-26 14:33

talking about the 2nd transition: who knew about the 1st transition? what was it based on? have they met all the objectives been met for the 1st transition for us to move to the 2nd transition. typical Zuma running away from the truth that they are failing our people mostly blacks. a time will come where we will change our x (cross), they will be shocked. talking abt the 2nd transition jst bcos he is trying to score support; idiot.

      thabang.manyana - 2012-06-26 14:40

we need to read a report of the 1st transition

      kindness.sweet - 2012-06-26 14:59

do we have a document for 1st transition? when was it drafted? why are we all hearing abt it now? are there meeting minutes for it? why would Kgalema disagree with Zuma around this? this is looting of votes in manguang, and then we r back to square 1. look at the development happening in Midrand, Centurion, PTA, Rooderport etc; who owns that land? when was it acquired? there's lot of space in Midrand, why is the anc led government utilise that to build for those who can afford reasonable houses and build rdp in areas that are less expensive? all they care abt is their friends getting fat tenders and non delivery. Look at simpiwe nyada; he took away the signing rights of DG in his department in order to awrd tender to his company, he is still an MP in parliament earning fat cheque. i mean what the f???

  • john.loveland.9 - 2012-06-26 14:41

"organisational renewal" Nice catch phrase. Wonder what it means to his cabinet. If I recall his drive at the last conference was dealing with "excessive or wasteful expenditure" and we know how successful they've been at that....

      alan.gernet - 2012-06-26 15:06

yeah .... and guess who "Spear'headed the wasteful expenditure???

  • Mondli Mbatha - 2012-06-26 14:59

How stupid you all are, something you need to know this is our country and we will make and policies as we feel, if any of you have a problem with that ship out!!!

      kindness.sweet - 2012-06-26 15:16

hence yr surname mbatha, typical zulu. u r mentally deranged. we need people who are competent that can run this country, not a guy who stick his thing everywhere it leads him. how can he manage the country of 50+ millions when he is failing to spend time with his 5++ wives? and 30+++ kids? this makes me laugh; dont be fooled by race, am also black, but will prefer Ramaphosa or Kgalema, actually i support this notion; anything but Zuma.

  • dcbenade - 2012-06-26 15:27

Just talk and no action, these morons will not do anything to improve this country, its been 18years since apartheid and they still blame its the cause why the ANC is in this mess, only people to blame is themselves, wish Mandela can give his opinion on the current ANC agenda, im sure this was not his dream of a Rainbow Nation

  • Philip Buys - 2012-06-26 15:46

Dear Mondli, This is where you make a big mistake. There is nowhere to ship to.... You call this your country......well it is not! Being the stupid one here..... yes you are! To criticise the policies.....yes i have the right! To vote for someone that declares they gave you freedom, to promise you wealth, a better life for all, and then cannot deliver it after 18 must be a moron to vote for them. Its time you get off your arse, take hands with everybody in this country, and vote for a better future for all of us. This is as much my country as it is yours. Show your true commitment, and it will come back to you, or continue the war talk, and it will be a sorry time for all of us. I will die to protect my own, and everyone that feels like i do.....(black or white). Your current attitude stinks of racism and nepotism. You know nothing of me, or you do not care, just like the current goverment you support. You think they care about you.....have i got a huge nasty surprise for you? They do not care.
