Zuma hails ANC conference as a success

Bloemfontein - The ANC's national conference in Mangaung was "very successful", President Jacob Zuma said on Thursday.

"We conclude our business on a high note, satisfied that we have achieved the objectives we have set for ourselves at the beginning of the conference," Zuma said in his closing address in Mangaung in the Free State.

He congratulated the newly elected leadership of the African National Congress.

"As incoming leadership we are humbled by the confidence showed by the branches of the ANC in us.

"We will do our best in our task on behalf of the membership and guided by the membership," Zuma said.

He thanked the outgoing leaders.

"[They] contributed immensely to the growth and success of the movement in the last five years, at times in difficult conditions."

When you realise that this country does not want to measure success by what happens in the 'Old Boys Club', but by successful delivery, the war will be over. You don't efficiently get to the North heading East. Plastic Rocket Scientists ????

Indeed! amazing how successful when you can buy votes!

There we go folks!! I'm looking forward to 2014.

  • Thalente.sithole - 2012-12-20 19:38

But I am worried about the DA coz 2014 is a biggest threat to the ANC! Winning at Manaung doez not mean we will win in 2014!

I feel like someone has assaulted me with a baseball bet where the sun doesn't shine each time Zuma says things like these.

Of coarse it was a success......a week long party, members falling asleep during the conference, drinking the finest scotch whiskey, singing and dancing! Electing your buddies, sorry comrades! I'd say that's pretty successful! Bunch of tossers!

  • dingiswayo.nyambose.1 - 2012-12-20 20:52

Sad that the DA's only policy is to put black faces and hope that the masses will vote for them. All she prouds herself with is adopting and discussing Manuel's doc. Pathetic uncontested conference yet a claim of super-democracy. How ironic!!

hahahahahahahaha thats the madam, if u try t contest her u will end up loosing ur position in parliament just like Athol Trollip.

Of course JZ will hail the confrence as a success, he's been voted into power again and happy that he has gained more brainless followers and all the big parties. I wonder what the poor recieved while all these top ANC officials were drinking Jonny Blue and 5 course meals........ a free T-shirt, a streetwise 3 and a juice.
