Zuma rally is sabotage, ANCYL claims

2012-10-26 16:20

Johannesburg - An ANC rally in the Eastern Cape set to be addressed by President Jacob Zuma was an "act of sabotage", the ANC Youth League said on Friday.

"This swiftly organised rally is nothing but a blatant and immature act to sabotage the activities of the ANCYL," the league said in a statement.

The organisation said it had organised its own rally two months ago to honour ANC stalwart OR Tambo in Bizana on Saturday.

Zuma is set to address a rally organised by the provincial executive committee (PEC) in the same area on Sunday.

The ANCYL said it had decided to postpone its rally, which Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe was set to address.

The organisation said it would not "stoop that low" to allow factionalism to compromise the ANC's integrity, by parading Motlanthe and Zuma in an "unsightly and undignified manner".

ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu said there seemed to have been a lack of co-ordination between the ANCYL and ANC in the Eastern Cape.

He said Zuma was requested "months ago" by the PEC to address them.

"The Eastern Cape actually sent their request to me. The ANCYL should have addressed this matter first with the ANC before putting it out there."

ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu said there seemed to have been a lack of co-ordination between the ANCYL and ANC in the Eastern Cape. LACK OF COORDINATION EXISTS FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS!!!#%$#$

Trust this comment will not be delete, like me previous one Reading this, ALL Juju's meetings therefore must have had ANC approval.

Looks like someone is getting a couple of lessons in Political Chess. Grow up ANCYL. This is how the game is played.

  • dane.jenkinson - 2012-10-26 16:43

There is a lack of co-ordination in anything both the ANC and the ANCYL do! Nothing new.

  • mart.botha - 2012-10-26 16:46

I am pretty sure that OR Tambo is at least pleased that ANCYL don't get a chance to drag his name into the mud, yet anyway. I am also pretty sure that the YL has mutated beyond his worst nightmares, and that he would rather they left him out of their snenanigans.

      art5SA - 2012-10-26 21:18

Imagine attending a gathering of the "NEW" Youth League... Plastic chairs, thrown across the venue is the NORM! Noise within the venue will drown out ANY political statement by all n sundry... What a JOKE they have become!

  • alwyn.vantonder - 2012-10-26 16:52

The ANC are masters of the lack of co-ordination.. tell us something that we don't know! They can't even co-ordinate their thoughts with their mouths.. they say one thing and they do another! Another sign that the ANC is going down, they're grasping at straw! The ANC have naughty children that still craps in their panties as a sign of rebellion.. we laugh at their demise! Onwards comrades! We're waiting to see you cry the day you loose power!

      art5SA - 2012-10-26 21:20

Not to forget the "I WAS QUOTED OUT OF CONTEXT" chirp they throw to the media AFTER it was RECORDED!!!!!(Fikile Mabalula) ROFLMAO!!!

The only entity to blame here is the presidency itself for allowing a moll to grow into a cANCer. You reap what sow you applies not when you want to but always. Have fun, fight, tear each other appart, show the world that every thought you have is infested with greed and power. Eat as much as you can whilts youre people have to scavange for food. Filthy pigs

Our march to mangaung is an unsoppable tsunami. Viva ancyl

      colin.dovey - 2012-10-26 18:00

@Thobile - "good" choice of words my friend: "unSOPPable" tsunami" - implying in your words that it will be a mess that cannot be cleaned up - HA HA - an unintended Malapropism and ironic in the extreme.

      mzwa.mthombeni - 2012-10-26 19:17

@Thobile are serious? Which world do you live in? The Zunami is dancing in your tsunami! Lets call it a drizzle. Lol! Zuma's too slick for these Johny-come-lates! Siyaya eMangaung, siyaya eUnion Building!!

  • andy.mku.9 - 2012-10-26 17:54

ANCYL is having more brains than the ANC shame on u mantashe and drunken master mthembu

      dan.gleebits.33 - 2012-10-26 21:12

Have to agree with you Andy, and when you realise that the YL member IQ averages about 60, falling to 45 at leadership level, you know why SA is so deep in the sh*t!

  • sandy.langenstrass - 2012-10-26 17:57

This ancyl have BIG HEADS....what makes them think every one should step aside for them....WHO the H#ll do they think they are?

  • Melusi - 2012-10-26 17:59

The league must tell its people 2 go school first.

  • jacyjays.letsoalo - 2012-10-26 18:00

I like the way the ANC is busy killing itself at the expense of \unifying\ itself. It just shows that the leadership lacks vision and long term plans! I mean this year u tout for a specic leader and the next two years that leader is deemed \stupid\ irrelevant and uneducated! What has made him educated in the first place and uneducated in the latter stages. This just shows a lack of vision and Leadership period. Now the ANC sub Structures have become Sub-Political Parties! One rules over the other and what I know is that the YL is meant to address the issues concerning the Youth within the ANC motherbody not \choosing\ leadership. The ANC of late has become its worst enemy and how the \real enemy\ is laughing

  • Glacia Shabalala - 2012-10-26 18:02

unity is d power! division is bad.

  • phahla.matwa - 2012-10-26 18:06

    Dirty politics

  • tangi.amakali - 2012-10-26 18:09

''ANCYL should have discussed first with ANC before hand'' what a mockery of a statement, since when activities of the ANCYL approved by the mother body? Does this mean the Vise President was doing it illegal without approval from the party.

      art5SA - 2012-10-26 21:25

Yep... he is seen as a "VISE" president.... Then you have a "VICE" president..... something totally different to a "VISE" president...

  • michael.freeman.16752 - 2012-10-26 18:23

I love this in house fighting. Let the games begin.

  • allenttrading - 2012-10-26 19:04

The YL has defined itself outside the ANC hence it clear they didn't inform the ANC PEC nor the NEC.

  • bobby.boon.18 - 2012-10-26 22:14

Looks like the Little pup(ANCYL) Is Biting the hand that Feeds Them

  • pashman.malate - 2012-10-26 23:57

  • jacqui.daanevanrensburg - 2012-10-27 10:04

Don't you just love it when idiots squabble?.

  • neilza - 2012-10-27 16:50

you wouldnt think that the ANC and the ANC Youth League were actually the same party. As Lincoln said on June 16, 1928 "A house divided against itself cannot stand"

  • mmoledis - 2012-10-27 19:05

Let Mangaung come and go, we are sick and tired of the division we see in a party that fought for the liberation of this country, and as such see current young generation wanting to destroy it and take this country back, we need services and not fighting for positions here.

  • sna.thambo - 2012-10-27 19:56

ACT OF SABBOTAGE?? mxm, who do the ANCYL think they are ??

  • lynne.barker.7 - 2012-11-08 16:50
