Cape Town - Steamy graffiti sexualising President Jacob Zuma caused Parliamentary officials to scurry around - but a picture that went viral on social media appears to have been a Photoshopped hoax.

The photograph showed a wall flanking the Parliamentary precinct with the words “Zuma makes me wet” painted on it. The picture went viral online, eliciting guffaws and outrage.

When approached for comment, parliamentary spokesperson Luzuko Jacobs assembled the police and inspected the perimeter, but said he could not find the offensive scrawl.

“[There is] absolutely no evidence of such tasteless act of vandalism on the front wall,” said Jacobs.

Speaking on behalf of Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille’s office, Pierrinne Leukes said city officials did not clean the wall.
“When our people got there today it was gone,” she said.
