Bafana need a big crowd

Cape Town - Coach Shakes Mashaba and midfielder Dean Furman have both called on the Mother City crowds to be in full voice on Wednesday.

Bafana Bafana and the Super Eagles will renew their fierce rivalry in the second matchday in Group A of the 2015 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), qualifying encounter at the Cape Town stadium.

National team head coach Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba is expecting the 12th man to lead his team’s attack.

Mashaba said he believes that people from the Mother City will come in numbers to support the national team.

“I wish and hope to see people from Cape Town coming in large numbers to support us.” Said Mashaba

“We really need the 12th player as we have seen in Sudan.

“The stadium in Sudan was fully packed to capacity.

“I hope it will also be the case in Cape Town.”

Dean Furman, the England based player, also wants the South African supporters to be as hostile as the Sudanese were to them over the weekend.

“It was very hostile for us to play in Sudan in the weekend.” Said Furman

“Hopefully our supporters will do the same for us in South African and make the Nigerians uncomfortable.

“I also hope they will cheer us on as we want to win this game.”

Victory for Bafana Bafana will put them in a fairly comfortable position heading to their next game against Congo in October.

The match will kick-off at 20:00.
