CSA wait for Majola's next move

Johannesburg - Cricket South Africa (CSA) says it’s waiting to see if former CEO Gerald Majola will appeal the Labour Court's judgment against him, according to the EWN website.

On Thursday, the court ruled against Majola in his bid to be reinstated as chief executive.

"Majola had unsuccessfully sought an order for declaratory relief against, inter-alia, the decision of the honourable minister of sport and recreation, Mr Fikile Mbalula, to appoint the Nicholson Committee of Enquiry," read a statement released by CSA.

"Majola had also sought to set aside the CSA disciplinary proceedings which flowed from the recommendations of the Nicholson enquiry."

Haroon Lorgat, who replaced Majola, said his predecessor still has the right to appeal.

“My understanding is he has every right to appeal, but he will have to appeal to the same court first.”

But Lorgat said the sports body won’t be concerned if Majola does decide to pursue the matter further."
