Chiefs win Peter Mokaba Cup

Polokwane - Kaizer Chiefs beat SuperSport United 4-2 in the final of the Peter Mokaba Cup friendly tournament at the opening of the 2010 World Cup venue, the Peter Mokaba Stadium, on Saturday.

Siyabonga Nkosi opened the scoring for United in the 41st minute. Immediate after that Chiefs were awarded a penalty and their captain of the day Gerald Sibeko made no mistake, sending goalkeeper Jacob Mokhasi the wrong way.

In the second half, Dominic Isaacs made it 2-1 to Chiefs in the 54th minute following a goal-mouth scramble. Isaacs then turned villain as he conceded a penalty, from which Anthony Laffor scored to make it 2-2.

George Lebese regained the lead for Chiefs in the 78th minute before Jose Torrealba made it 4-2 in the 90th minute to seal the victory for Chiefs.

Earlier, United beat Denmark side Brondby FC 2-1 in the first semi-final, while Chiefs edged Wits 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out in the second semi-final, after the game ended goalless after 90 minutes.
