Khedira joins exclusive club

Rio de Janeiro - Germany's victory over Argentina on Sunday meant Sami Khedira became only the 10th player to win the Soccer World Cup and the European Cup or Champions League in the same year.

Khedira was a central figure leading up to the final on Sunday but was forced onto the sidelines after pulling a calf muscle in the warm-ups.

The Real Madrid star was replaced by Christoph Kramer in the starting lineup, who himself was forced off after a collision left the midfielder dazed.

Khedira is currently at the centre of immense transfer speculation with both Arsenal and Chelsea interested in his services.
