Kekana wonder goal making waves

Cape Town - Hlompho Kekana’s 65 metre wonder goal is making waves in the United Kingdom.

Kekana scored just after half-time against Cameroon in an African Cup of Nations qualifying match in Limbe which eventually ended 2-2.

After spotting the Cameroon keeper off his line, the Bafana Bafana midfielder let loose from well behind the halfway line on the far right-hand side of the field.

The stunned stadium watched as the ball flew all the way into the net to give South Africa a 2-1 lead.

English newspaper, the Daily Mirror believes Kekana has already booked his place as a contender for FIFA’s Puskas Award, given to the player deemed to have scored the “most beautiful goal” of the year.

According to the Mirror, Kekana showed incredible skill with his effort and likened his strike to that of a young David Beckham's wonder goal for Manchester United against Wimbledon in 1996.

Here is Kekana's incredible effort.
