Laffor: I get emotional at lack of games

Cape Town - Anthony Laffor has revealed that he sometimes gets emotional about his lack of game time at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Laffor, who has been with Sundowns since 2012 has managed only 12 appearances in all competitions this season as the Brazilians went all the way to clinch the Absa Premiership title.

He played the last 15 minutes in Saturday goalless draw against Bloemfontein Celtic as Sundowns were officially handed their Premiership trophy.

The 33-year old Liberian born in the process clinched his fifth Premiership medal since arriving in South Africa in 2006.

Despite his lack of game time at Pitso Mosimane’s coached side, Laffor said he was happy to be a champion again.

Laffor told SuperSport: "It has been great because we have been in the journey for a long time. I am happy that we won this title, but we need to keep our feet on the ground because we still have to play the (CAF) Champions League and we have a game on Wednesday against Barcelona.

"I think today it’s time for our supporters and families to celebrate because they have supported us, but we should know that it’s not over yet.

"For me I’m a professional and I’m very much responsible because I know the guys that are playing, I have to support them. I’m happy for those guys out there.

"You know sometimes I get emotional because I know what I can do, but I’m not getting the opportunity. If you look at it, its football, you need to support the guys that are playing.

"I’m very supportive and I’m happy because we all win today. We celebrate together as a team and will see what happens, but I’m very happy. Thanks to my family, this is my fifth league title in South Africa."
