One thing we know: when it is all over, those of us who survive will find some form of meaning in it, writes Melanie Verwoerd.
In support of our President’s call for our nation to heighten collective efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19 by staying at home, Discovery Vitality is adjusting its wellness offering to members to encourage healthier choices during this 21-day period.
Discovery Vitality said it wants to keep its two million members moving despite the lockdown.
Vitality will also be expanding the rewards offered to include online shopping and gaming as consumers stay home.
Vitality members are accusing Discovery of diluting its offering with Discovery Miles, after a rules update in January.
Members will still be able to earn points through weekly goals.
Cashback on HealthyCare products at Clicks and DisChem will also be introduced.
Members will also receive R1 000 towards a fitness device.
The Discovery Life business heavily integrated with Vitality with over 80% of its customers also members of the reward programme.
CEO Dinesh Govender told Fin24 on Friday that while Vitality members will be offered to those who have amassed Vitality points over the years, clients who are on other Discovery platforms will have the choice of opting into the Discover Miles system.
