Sao Paulo - Brazil's top plane maker Embraer on Wednesday announced it had signed a deal finalising an order from US leasing company ILFC for 50 E-Jets E2 aircraft valued at $2.85bn.

The contract for 25 E190-E2 jets and 25 E195-E2 aircraft that can carry up to 144 passengers comes with an option for 50 other planes.

International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), based in Los Angeles, is a global leader in the leasing and remarketing of jet aircraft to commercial airlines.

The first delivery of an E-Jets E2 aircraft (the E190-E2) is planned for the first half of 2018, Embraer said.

The company said it has delivered more than 950 E-Jets so far.

Embraer, the world's third largest commercial aircraft manufacturer behind US Boeing and Europe's Airbus, is based in Sao Jose dos Campos, 80km from Sao Paulo.
