Cape Town - A new online destination designed to honour the memory of those who have passed has been launched in SA.

The site,, was launched by parent and it offers a comprehensive destination for biographical information, memories and videos intended to honour a deceased person.

"We believe we have created a very special offering in the South African digital space, a place where those separated by distance can come together to celebrate the life of one who has passed on," said Zunaid Parker, business manager behind

The site features memorials to South African icons Hansie Cronje, Miriam Makeba and Brenda "Mabrr" Fassie, among others.

Users are able to read obituaries, watch video or add pictures of the individual.

Families are also able to post notices of passing on the site which may serve the additional function of notifying creditors that someone has died.

The site is expected to be useful to researchers as well as a valuable resource to school pupils.
