Satellite plunges into ocean

Moscow – A Russian rocket carrying a US telecommunications satellite plunged into the Pacific Ocean on Friday only moments after being launched from a mobile sea platform, the Interfax news agency reported.

"The accident occurred during the first stage. The rocket went in the wrong direction as soon as it left the platform," Interfax quoted a space industry source as saying.
