Presented annually in early October by Bashomi ba Africa, the festival was first held in 1997 before an audience of 30 000, Macufe now attracts over 140 000 people from South Africa, Africa and the world.

This year's theme is 'When Your Heart and Soul is African' and the line-up seeks to compliment just that. Seasoned artists like Mafikizolo, Hugh Masekela, Jimmy Dludlu and Judith Sephuma are set to entertain the crowds.

If you have been thinking of visiting the Free State especially the City of Roses (Bloemfontein), this is the perfect opportunity as Thandiswa Mazwai, Anthony Hamilton, Zonke, Maleh and others will be live on stage.

To top it up, Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic will lock horns in the highly contested Macufe Cup football encounter.
