A braai in the sky? We think kulula has gone bonkers!

2014-04-01 08:00
Hey, kulula! Remember that one time you did the Most South African Flight Ever? We got to snack on sour worms, biltong and Nik Naks while flying a loop over Joburg (from Lanseria to… Lanseria) and you even put You, Drum and Huisgenoot magazines in our seat pockets in case we got bored.

We really liked that – it was super special!

But when we heard you’re planning on celebrating your home-grown roots once more, this time by hosting a braai in the sky, we simply didn’t know how to react.

We were all like:

Hahaha! They’ve actually gone crazy

But, once it sank in, we couldn’t help but picture the worst case scenario. God help us all!

We sure hope you’ve trained your cabin crew to use one of these

And you’re all ready for the general chaos that could ensue

But, then we calmed down and gave it some more thought

This could actually be pretty cool, because frankly we would rather be braaiing than flying!

So, we stopped being paranoid and did a little happy dance at the thought of being able to order either a chop, a piece of chicken or vegetable skewer as well as a piece of boerewors and a serving of pap and Chakalaka instead of a boring old sandwich! Yum!

So, the crew will be doing a little pilot study in the next day or two and if all goes well, customers travelling on kulula.com will be able to pre-select their favourite piece of braai meat or vegetable skewer from the cabin crew and have it braaied in mid-air.

To watch footage of the first ever braai in the sky pilot flight, visit kulula’s YouTube page on 2 April.
