Air Mauritius broadens wings through Emirates agreement

2013-12-18 11:39
Cape Town - Air Mauritius has signed an agreement with Emirates, increasing its seat allocation on the Daily 380 Emirates service between the island and Dubai, the airline announced in a statement.

The agreement came into effect on 16 December 2013 and increases Air Mauritius’ access through code sharing on Emirates routes between Dubai and Russia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, China, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

“It is an important agreement for our two airlines as it provides Air Mauritius with the opportunity to offer our passengers, business partners and the country at large, better access to a broader network," said Andre Viljoen, CEO of Air Mauritius.

"Emirates is one of our key partners, which has consolidated its presence worldwide in a very short time through its Dubai hub. Air Mauritius was collaborating with Emirates and with this enhanced agreement, Dubai becomes an important hub in our network,” said Viljoen.

The two airlines are also finalising the terms of a participation in their mutual loyalty programmes.
