Air Namibia gets new Airbus fleet

Air Namibia has taken delivery of the first of two new Airbus A319-100 aircraft. It arrived at Hosea Kutako International Airport west of the capitol, Windhoek. WATCH

Windhoek - Air Namibia will take delivery of the first of its new Airbus 330-200 aircraft in September, with the second due to enter service in November.

iAfrica reports that the aircraft will be leased from Intrepid Aviation and used primarily on the carrier's Windhoek-Frankfurt route.

Both aircraft will be configured with 244 seats, 30 business class and 214 economy. Seats in the premium cabin will be lie-flat.

Acting Managing Director, Michael Ngapurue, said the onboard product and inflight entertainment would be "significantly improved... meeting customer needs more optimally, while giving Air Namibia lower operating cost advantages".
