Bloemfontein - The name of the Bloemfontein Airport was changed twice within two-weeks, it was reported on Thursday.

In an official notice of the name change, the authorities not only forgot to add an "international" tag, but 'relocated' the airport, The Star reported.

The Bloemfontein International Airport was officially renamed Bram Fischer Airport, after the struggle veteran, and was identified as "an airport in Motheo District Municipality in the Free State" on October 26.

About a week later, it was renamed the Bram Fischer International Airport and was remapped as "an airport in Mangaung Municipality in the Free State".

According to the newspaper, the same official notices also renamed the town of Petrus Steyn to Mamafubedu.

A first notice gave the town's address as Petrus Steyn Municipality. A second notice corrected this to the Nketoana municipality in the Free State.
