New Jersey – A Guatamalan man was arrested at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey when customs officials found 1.3kg of cocaine hidden INSIDE chocolate chip cookies.

Talk about secret ingredients!

New Jersey Star Ledger reports that Mauricio Isidro Rivera Hernandez was stopped by US Customs and Border Protection officers after he arrived from Guatemala earlier this month.

Customs officials found bags of cookies in his three checked bags, and inside the cookies, 118 small, oval-shaped pellets of cocaine.

The 1.3kg of drugs have the approximate street value of $52 000 (R552 829 at R10.69.dollar) Rivera Hernandez was arrested and faces narcotics smuggling charges.
